This is great if it was unintentional and even better if it was intentional. It at least pushes Warren and the B1G to make some comment instead of hiding in the dark. Good for Ted Carter.

Sorry to pivot, but what I hope transpires out of all of this is that a national realignment occurs and Nebraska gets out of the B1G. Will be interesting to see the fallout.

Nope....but she just mandated masks with exec order 180 for the fall sports she allowed with exec order 176. What a side show. :snacks:  I don’t think she’s ever played sports.  Anyone known if other HS teams are wearing masks while on the field?

“The COVID-19 virus is easily spread through airborne particles and can affect everyone differently,” Gov. Whitmer said in a release. "By wearing a face covering when proper distancing is not possible, athletes will be better protected from contracting the virus and spreading it to family members, frontline workers, and vulnerable populations.

CDC smoke particles and cloth masks.

"Cloth masks will not protect you from wildfire smoke.

Cloth masks that are used to slow the spread of COVID-19 by blocking respiratory droplets offer little protection against wildfire smoke. They do not catch small, harmful particles in smoke that can harm your health".

Funny how zero people had a problem with Fauci until he contradicted Mr. Hydroxychloroquine. Once that happened and trump started the character assassination campaign, suddenly all you people have a problem with him.

    Weird.

Being in Environmental, Health, and Safety Consulting, and being the head Safety firm at San Antonio Military Medical Center, I haven't liked the wishy washy golem looking freak since the beginning. But, we are actually following Science in the field, not theory or coddled bureaucratic dreams.  But that's a story for another thread.

I assume you are kidding? I have been reading Knapp's political posts in almost every thread on this FOOTBALL board. I take 2 good natured jabs at Knapp and all of a sudden political posts need to go somewhere else? haha. Its funny how the people who share the same political views as Knapp are fine with HIS political posts. But no one elses if they dont agree

Is this your first time on Facebook...I mean huskerboard.com?

I dont worship any one political party or president for that matter. I lean more right than left yes. So you can make your political posts 100 times a day but you cant handle hearing a contrary thought? I was just having a little fun because Fauci was allowed to change his mind every 2 days because he has new information. But Sir Yacht cant update with new information on a subject that is obviously fluid and probably changing every hour.

PS I have no idea if Yacht man is full of s#!t or not. Just drawing a comparison for your own personal growth.

Good to see Knapp still being Knapp. At least someone is consistent the last 10 years that Husker football hasn't been.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt Destroys Big Ten’s Manipulative Plan to Cancel Football Until After November Election

"The Big Ten was widely criticized for its decision to postpone the fall football season Aug. 11, but the league and commissioner Kevin Warren has the support of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer".

“I also was also told that one roadblock to the new plan is the fact that Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been vehemently opposed to football being played—at the high school and college level – in the state this fall,” Snook reported.

Whitmer is on record in months past as saying there needs to be a widely available vaccine and mass quantities of tests available to determine when “we have some immunity built up.” The most optimistic estimates for when a vaccine might be available point to the end of the year.

Umm... first 3 weeks of March??? That article was written in April. This thing blew up in the US the 3rd and 4th week of March, and predictably deaths would lag confirmed cases, so they blew up the 4th week of March and 5th week of March/ 1st  week of April. You're article wouldn't have any info about that.

There is more data supporting this argument, but I am not going to do your homework for you.

They took it seriously and so did a majority of the world. We did not. You don't be a gud boi you don't get gud toy. China literally locked people in their houses with chains.

This isn't other pandemic this is a novel virus.

Not if 60% of cases are asymptomatic.

Why do arrogant humans believe they will defeat something that our immune systems are doing a perfectly good job at?

What's your point? They shut everything down in January and the government took the threat seriously (authoritarian sytle like they do best) after initially botching it.

The point is they are open and we are not.  We can't play football and they can.  Do you know how many pandemics in history got worse in the summertime?

    What?

I am saying I trust those "government" numbers, like I trusted George W. Bush's "weapons of mass destruction".  The data all along this thing from several different areas has been sketchy.  Constantly changing algorithms and formulas for calculating the numbers.  Our historical seasonal deaths across the board are down in every area.  So there is good reason for pause and apprehension with the government numbers.  In Texas they claimed a 10% jump was due to an "error" and "upgrades".  That was a Texas sized f#&% up IMHO.

You do realize this doesn't need to be some big conspiracy, right? Imagine for a moment that it is not the tail wagging the dog. Maybe playing/not playing football has broken down red state/blue state because of the tendencies of the majority of the people in those states. Red states have more of the people who have been denying this deal since day one. They support Trump and are simply and unthinkingly mimicking dear leader. Whereas people in blue states are actually applying science and logic to deal with a very real pandemic that has taken 180,000 lives in less than 6 months. Do you need more clues? How about the fact that neither side wants to destroy local or national economies just to assure a change of the WH resident. The only people who think this is some dastardly conspiracy are those just not quite sharp enough to realize dear leader blew the response and mitigation effort. It's not a far left conspiracy. It is a total and complete lack of leadership and a failed response. Nothing more. Occam's razor.

BTW, I agree with the premise that continued shut downs would not be necessary IF we as a country would/could do just three simple things; wear masks, social distance and avoid large gatherings. Unfortunately we as a society have struggled with this. If there is any conspiracy to be had here, it resides in the conundrum of supposedly patriotic, brave, gun toting freedom lovers not being able to comply with extremely logical science backed mask mandates. The easily performed yet slightly sacrificial action of wearing a mask when in public seems to be too big of an ask for some of these “patriots”. If there is any conspiracy to be recognized it is that too many in this country are brainwashed beyond being able to be reasoned with.

Understood, I am just saying it seems a lot of different doctors are disagreeing with the federal bureaucratic consensus.  Again, it is not economically feasible to test 320 million people, between the difference of Covid 19 and the flu. Which is why they are using the PCR test to check for SARS Cov 2 "family" of corona viruses.  Of which Covid 19 is apart of. There is such a large legal disclaimer within the lab results presently, and you can't even use the test anymore after EO is lifted.

What front line are you on, because you do not sound like someone who has been taking care of COVID patients? You need to shut it down, you clearly have little idea of what you're talking about. I've lived in Michigan for 5 years. The precautions that the governor took saved lives, and have got us moving forward towards a state of recovery. It allowed the Big 3 to restart production with no recorded cases of COVID spread in their facilities. Yes, what she did was harsh and there will be economic repercussions from it, but it was the right thing to do. Just had a conversation with a business owner the other day that was heavily impacted by the regulations, and even he said that it was something that was necessary. His only caveat was that maybe the branding should have been different, more alogn he lines of "do it to save Grandma and Grandpa", not "to keep hospitals from over flowing".

This isn't political. This is real. Why the f#&% would China shut down a whole region and country? Why the f#&% would every other country in THE f#&%ING WORLD shut down if this was a hoax???? Why is Herman Cain dead?????? Use your brain.

Well, this is just unfortunate. Here's the premise of the thread in one word.

Well Knapp, I am on the front lines here, so I do have experience.  Not just that, but my wife did get "covid", from taking care of people who had it, because no one else at her facility would.  Myself, my daughters, and adopted son never got it. My wife was the only one to have symptoms from the people who got it at her work.  With her is was gastrointestinal, not respiratory.  But, since the  PCR test only checks for SARS Covid 2 family of "coronaviruses" and not Covid 19, the test are worthless.  So worthless that 3 months later all the women at my wife's work are testing positive 3 months later.  The didn't even require my wife to have a negative test to return to work.  Not saying the "virus" is a scam, I am saying the reaction and fear mongering hype is the real scam.  With 60% of people with corona virus being asymptomatic, humans cannot defeat something that our immune systems are doing a better job at job at. IMHO FWIW
