It's not a false narrative but a matter of perspective - there was/is a large part of the fan base that was embarrassed by Bo, disappointed in his personality and disappointed by his on-field results. His firing was met with more support than opposition, whatever that percentage might've been. Overall, though, I agree that I think Riley harmed this program greater than BP ever did.

I would argue that is false until the end of time.  The large contingent of my friends that are fans would agree 4 out 5 that the firing was idiotic.

I mean, it's not propaganda, it's just my own opinion.

By the end of Bo's era I was sick as hell of him playing the "us against them" card and crapping on the fan base. I remember the hot mic and the team meeting before he left. It was pretty clear to me he cared about the players, but is was also clear his style of motivating them had players so afraid of making mistakes and consequently getting reamed a new one that they played scared and ultimately led to a lot of blowouts in big games.

His on-field demeanor was beyond embarrassing by the end. But I don't have a problem with him (or Riley, for that matter) as a person.

Nothing he said in that offended me, I thought the exact same thing about all the people leaving in the 3rd quarter, eff um, still to this day I don't give a crap.  He had every right to feel that way.

False, omg a coach got super mad, who cares, anyone who did is to sensitive.

I don’t know about recent years, and maybe the additional travel in the Big Ten requires the baseball team to spend more $. But when the Haymarket Park opened, the baseball team would at least break even or turn a small profit. Attendance might be down after the switch to the Big Ten though.

Attendance is down because they have sucked

If Gebbia stayed he would have played in the Colorado game (when Martinez was hurt) and would have had a chance to win us that game. He would have also started and played against Troy. If Gebbia comes in and wins both of those games who knows what would have happened and/or who would have been our starter going forward.

Lol no, he also transferred like his head coach did

I'd take this guy in a heartbeat. Surely no one is concerned because he was a backup...? The only possible reason for that is that he may not have exactly fit the system they running. This guy is explosive and perfect for Frost's offense. No hesitation whatsoever.

The only possible reason he wasn't a starter?! Well there's the issue of he wasn't good enough to start, football coaches aren't in the business of playing their second best players

Who knows why it didn’t work out for him at Oregon, unless he didn’t  fit into the last two coaches’ systems. But man he looks dangerous, and perhaps with Frost’s system, he would get playing time along with Mills and Washington if he is allowed to play.

    Dangerous enough to never start

One scholarship guy transferred and that brought us down to 12.

Karrington Davis out for the year -11 available.

Dachon Burke is sitting out this season- 10

    Nana suspended -9

Copeland out for the year- 8

    Amir Harris hurt- 7

    Tom Allen out- 6

Brady Heiman hurt- 5  scholarships available.

The starting 5 in the game today were all on scholarship. Two walk-ons coming off the bench.

    Looks like a graveyard

As someone who has coached basketball, what Miles has done the last two weeks with what he’s had to work with is remarkable. Irregardless of whether or not he deserves to keep his job. I never was a miles fan, always thought we shouldve aimed higher with the hire. And I’m not giving him a pass on the middle of this season. Just solely what they’ve done the last couple weeks, incredible.

This is how I look at it, the kids who have now had a chance to play have brought "it".  Whatever it is, they seem to have that now, an instinct, a passion, a focus to make plays.  My gripe about this was early in the season, the excuse was lack of depth or bench, well those guys "the lack", they have something that is different then before.   You need to play these guys early in the season where mistakes aren't as costly and the team learns that these guys have a purpose.  The stat sheet withstanding, I mean seriously you Trueblood trying with all his might to score 6 points, finding crossers, following his shot, chesting up to guys that are better.  Do they need to play 25 minutes, absolutely not, but you need the team to see that, feel that, know that, because that guy has your back when you get 3 fouls, instead of trying to mismanage fouls and lineups, trust is must for the entire team.   I believe if you had Thor and Jonney and Heiman getting minutes, showing that when we play we are going to go a as hard as we can even though we know you guys are the starters the season changes drastically.  That's just my take, and I think Miles biggest downfall.

Some like to tell us how good Miles is, how well liked and respected he is in the industry. If all that is true I see no reason why he shouldn’t land another P5 job after we fire him!! If not maybe the people who said that are just competing coaches who like us to stay as an easy win. Lots of opposing coaches really like mike Riley too

Your post literally describes Mike Riley and why other coaches liked him, exactly what I have been saying about Tim for 4 years.

Domann will probably see the field a lot against spread teams and may not see the field much against bigger, pro-style teams like Wisconsin and Iowa.

He will play 75 percent of the snaps on defense no matter what we are facing

It’s good that Jones and Robinson are focusing at receiver. Easy to just play them at RB with that position being thin this spring, but long term the receiver side is the harder to learn. It’s also leads me to believe the staff thinks some of these outside issues can be resolved by Fall. Conjecture on that, obviously.

Running backs are the easiest to replace, if he doesn't play we will be fine with the others coming in.

A virtual reality room that puts you on the field from the QB position,  MLB position, a safety, a RB, and an OL.

Attach a small cam to those positions helmets in games so you can see what they see and then edit them down to highlight plays, the tunnel walk, and other on field experiences  for fans to enjoy throughout the season or on tours of factilities.

It’s the wave of the future. Wave of the future, wave of the future. The future.

    They already have this

Edit or did I miss the joke

This is why I think Callahan gets too much heat.  Nebraska would have been successful if Callahan  fired Cosgrove.  Callahan had decent offenses and could recruit.  He's 5x better than Mr 500.

Lol no no he wouldn't have, he hasn't been a head coach since.  He wasn't good in big game situational coaching.  He just wasn't a good head coach.

Yeah only show I can’t listen to is USC also, the show is filled with nothing but their off based opinions. The other shows are really good.

Whatever you say, but they are usually right, and actually are quite funny.  Just because they don't have the everything as roses doesn't mean they are invalid.   There job isn't too make you feel good and rah rah huskers yay!

Except that is the exact opposite of what happens in nearly all such cases. Instead of letting it first play out through the legal system (which is why we have a legal system), teams exact their own remedies by cutting, suspending, or otherwise separating from the person. In almost all cases, this is done by the presumption of guilt rather than as an effect of a trial, deal, or other such legal recourse.

By teams doing so, almost solely to avoid a public relations hit, they are putting football before life. Whenever people say an organizational body should hold people accountable for such matters, what they are really saying is such bodies should have the power to usurp the legal authorities, but without all of that protecting the innocent or due process nonsense.

Playing football is a privilege.  People don't have any more or less right to dismiss any player for anything.  It's a right to play, just like right to work.

Glad we got Bo paid off, but i dont see the ill will for him.  He might of had some nasty parting words when he left, but i cant fault him for being upset if it was justified or not.  I honestly think MIke Riley and Bill Callahan did alot more to hurt this program than Bo ever did.  Both of those two coaches did alot more to alter the way we did things around here than Bo did.  Probably not the most popular opinion but its how i see it.

    No you are correct

I am not super connected with HS baseball here but I have never heard anything bad about DE (or good).  But he seems like he can be a little annoying and sort brings that "I am a super try hard, gritty, hard nosed player/coach that gives it his all" attitude, which can rub people the wrong way, especially when DE was actually a crazy gifted talented athlete and not just this total blue collar guy.  Dude was gifted.

He's a terrible manager, I don't care what anyone says

Yeah I've thought the same about MW as well.  I also love how Frost definitely gets it as far as how important s & c is.  Never heard a peep about that from the previous coaches after Osborne at least.

Then you don't listen very well because Bo talked about it quite frequently
