  1. Anyone know what section 218 is like, that's where I am this year? I get my tickets thru the University as a season ticket holder, and last year I was in the 314 club section. The view was OK, but best thing was I could drink beer during the game, and even had wine bar right outside exit.

So, I was wondering, I should have more priority points than I did last year, but I would think the 300 club section is considered better than section 218 right? I'm trying to figure out what the deal is. Anyoone have any ideas?

I know the view may be little better since closer to field, so are these considered better or worse than the 300 club section seats? Thanks.

Update: Just called the U to see how these things worked. Understand it a little better, but would love to see a priority point list. Also, just found out we only got 10,000 tickets for our allotment this year, compared to 12,000 last year. Why in the hell is that? Another jobbing by Beebe?

200 is closer to field dude, you got good tickets, I did not have enough points for level 2, so I got ticket in the 300s. Now club seats that's your own opinion farther away but more amenities.

  2. In Coulmbia MS, when the turd ball was head coach I had seats directly behind Sam Keller's family/girlfriend. I did not know this and began screaming for Joe probably in the first quarter. This continued until we were losing by about 30, his girlfriend turns around and yells if I don't having anything nice I need to keep my &$^%$ mouth shut. I told her if her boyfriend could throw it to the right team, I wouldn't have to open open my &$^$# mouth. I still proceeded to yell for Joe Ganz the entire time right in there families ear. My bad fan moment.

  3. It was how the play is called, for anyone that has played football on your hands team many of your skilled players are in, first the object is to get the ball, the next is don't hurt your good players on the kickoff. Roy was out there McNiell as well and many other important players. Marlowe has instructions in the play to run to 20-25 so there is no fumble and all is fine. He ran the play exactly how he was suppose to.

  4. It would be nice to see Martinez running to one sidline while a wideout comes back the other way and takes it on a pitch in the opposite direction. Just Martinez' threat to beat the D to the outside would cause them most likely to be out of position. The only problem is finding a capable WR to take the pitch. Most of our guys arent fast enough to make it worth the gamble and dont even mention NP because he would likely find a way to drop the pitch and then watch the play go the other way for 6. I am just fine with them not running the reverse especially with our inability to take care of the ball on simple handoffs.

I'm glad that you watch all the games very closely. Becasue I am sure you would remember we have this exact play and it was run to Niles and he would have scored six IF Taylor had not completely screwed up the read, ran to close to Niles, and then looked like a nerd trying to get it to him. It was during Okie State. It is a reverse zone read to the wide reciever and it a great play if you excuted right, and pretty sure Niles was the played the best out of anyone agaisnt Kansas, 4 third down snags in crucial situations, prolly should put him on the bench.

  5. I remember this topic from before and someone had posted a map of every student section in the big 12 and ours was by far the smallest of them all and the most concentrated in one area. Ours also goes up instead of spreads outs. It can create noise from the bounce back from the box and the north but if the students were closer to the field the difference would be amazing. It really is a shame, remember when dumbass TO got here he took 1000 students seats away from the edge for people that are paying a donation. You know what the biggest donations is? Tuition, I am sorry but if Bo wants it louder they really should move the students into the east more instead of higher in the stadium, I think we also have the smallest student section per percentage of students and seats in the BIG12.

  6. Bo and Carl can shut their damn mouths. I don't give two *^&^ what they think about the fans, how about you shut up and coach instead of worrying about the crowd. Why are you throwing the ball when you could have just sat on it AND THEN YOU CALLED A TIMEOUT, you look like an idiot. Shut up Bo, how about all the idiotic timeouts you use though the game, do the fans question those! You have cost your self tons of chances to seal or win games because you used some timeout on a 3rd and inches. I call you out for not coaching well at home and looking like an out of control gorilla on the sidelines with no composure. Don't schedule a game at 600 in NOVEMBER Bo or Tom or whoever, its freaking cold.

There I showed him! You can all thank me later!

And I hope you next week Bo!

    GBR!

In their defense, they don't schedule the game times. That is determined by the television networks that pick the games up.

Actually this game could have been played at any time, pay-per-view is not required for games that are not televised. If a game is not on the package from the conference it does not have to be on TV. Tom wanted the PPV so that's is why it was at 6. Just so you know

  8. They are not holding anything back, they are using what they have schemed for in practice, obviously some trick plays have not been used but that does not count. Second throwing down field is not being held back, its not being used because the quarterback cannot throw the ball in the right spot or far enough or with enough arch to complete them.

  9. Hey guys! I am working on an article about Husker traditions. I am a student at UNL right now and in the student section we always take off one shoe and hold it in the air during kick off. I've talked to a lot of people about how this might have started and it seems like it must be a pretty recent thing since most Husker alums don't know, but none of the students I've talked to know either. Does anyone know how this tradition started??? Please let me know ASAP!

    Thanks!

    Roxie

It happened, not to lie, but other schools have been doing this way before the student section started doing it. It is not a Nebraska tradition just so you know. It was copied just like the "black out" crap.

  10. Adrian Peterson fumbles, Martinez FUMBLES he actually has more turnovers then Paul this year. You know what things happen when you are trying to make big plays, they are high risk with full speed contact down the field, pretty sure by all of your arguments that anyone that Gomez made fumble like Kerry Meier he should probably had never played after that. Or the Idaho quarterback he better never play again because he threw 5 picks. Roy should just hang it up because he fumble the ball sometimes too. Niles Paul is THE biggest threat on the team on specials teams and the passing game, he is going to get drafted so SHUT the bleep up. Your not the coach the best players play in the game on every play they are called on, Paul is the 3rd best player on the team so shut it. Plus he blocks like an absolute animal every run, just watch him he plays freakin hard, he will push the corner every time, he is very valuable in the outside run game so all you people that want to take him out, no more Marteniz long runs or at least as many. You need to watch the whole game of football and not just the guy with the ball every time, there are too many small things he does way better then ANYONE. Learn some schematic football you extremely rude people.

AP fumbles and catches hell for it. Martinez has made more big plays in two games than Paul will make all year, Book it! (IBR'd). I'd have to struggle to think which big plays Paul's made that supercede his infamous performances. He's the reason NU's a running team if he's the biggest passing threat, and Mike McNeill would have something to say about that.

The best players on this team in no particular order; (since you so declared Paul up there in your smattering of run-on sentences and grammar bombs)

    Helu

    Burkhead

    Martinez

    McNeill

    Crick

    Steinkuhler

--Oh and if he's drafted, its late and he's cut unless his brain grows rapidly.

First off he will get drafted, second Martinez has proven nothing to be in the top 3, Lee looked like a great passer last year two games in, him on your list is based of hype just like last year for Lee. Its just like the media putting that Michicant guy up for Heisman after two games, they beat no one #1 and Notre Turd. And third Mateniez will make more plays BECAUSE HE TOUCHES THE BALL 55-60 TIMES A GAME. Granted Paul is not a quarterback but your rational is flawed and emotional at best. When Paul makes a big play we better just mark it off the scoreboard so it doesnt count, and to say again HE BLOCKS REALLY HARD SO MARTINEZ CAN RUN, if he they run to his side more then any other wideout because he is a very good blocker, this allows for big runs/extra yards.

  12. And one 24 year old fan that will never wear it black to a game either, and I had to deal with the a-holes in the student section mad that I did not wear black on those stupid stupid days.

  13. Odds are, no one. Romo and Ganz are exceptions. Or maybe they are everywhere but never see the light of day. I just really can't remember that many QBs at NU coming up from the depths to star. Not Berringer--he was always pretty highly regarded, just hidden behind Frazier for awhile.

My memory is a little different on the subject. Berringer's only D1 scholly offer to play football was from Nebraska. He never even would have been given a scholly except for the fact that he attended a football camp at Nebraska where he lit it up. When Mike Grant was struggling, I don't recall there ever being any discussion whatsoever who was going to come in and relieve him. If there was any question at all, redshirt freshman Berringer would have been given the nod rather than true freshman Frazier. Had Frazier not gone down to bloodclots, most NU fans wouldn't even have known who Berringer was.

And ganz never would have played except for a collar bone break....this conversation is dumb.

  14. The process if fairly simple, you call and place your name on the waiting list for tickets. Slowly over time they become available to the list. Now tickets are given to current season ticket holders first if they want them and they can make the donation. The donation for any ticket is a minimum of 150$ per seat on top of face value. This is the list any ticket holder will be on. Example being I have my four seat when the stadium expanded, two years ago when I called about an away game, they offered me two tickets right across the isle from my set of four, this was before they were available to the list. I took those tickets as well. Your best course of action is to get your name on the list. Plus it never hurts to bug them that's how you can get single game tickets sometimes.

Second you start to build your "points" based on donations over time, these points allow you to get premium away seats and single game tickets before they are available to the public. The hardest part is to get your first ticket, then after that you get way more opportunities, what I would do is try to get 1 season ticket or buy single tickets from the ticket office so your account starts to see activity and points, if they know you will buy then they will sell to. I actually used to only get away tickets and single tickets from the office which is wayyyyyyyyyyy cheaper and easier.

  15. West has never had any problems. Carl Pelini placed a huge challenge on him this winter and told him that he had all the tools, knew the system, we just need him to be more agressive and physical and take more chances trying to make plays. He has stepped up and done just that.

Corey Cooper is actually looking at some playing time as well.

I think coverage-wise we will be better than last year at safety; run support remains to be seen.

I bet you 1000 dollars that does not happen at safety.

  16. There's enough fail in your post to discuss for days, but I'll just address this. Lee has worked around about 1,000 times harder at being a quarterback than you, making all your "but but's" pretty irrelevant. You wouldn't know Nebraska football the way Lee knows it because you haven't got the skill to be walk-on, let alone a recruited scholarship athlete. What you know of Nebraska football consists of sitting in the stands, watching on TV and griping on message boards. Sure, your rants are silly and funny and we're all getting a chuckle out of you, but bottom line is, you're all hot air and no substance.

You may retain the floor for your little comedy routine, though.

    Please. Proceed.

hey chief, this isn't about me. this is about NU's joke of a QB last season(take umbrage if you really disagree, please), and the apparent inability of the residents of this particular fishbowl to admit it...which i find completely ridiculous. the dude Does Not Have What It Takes, athletically or otherwise...or at the very least has yet to demonstrate it on the field, end of story.

    but whatever...enjoy the cool-aid i guess.

and to the question posed by the previous post...

ANY OF THE ABOVE. what part of ANYBODY BUT LEE did you miss? just saying, and i'm far from alone.

All I have to say is you sure are nuts, the two Missouri passes to Niles were not wobbling or him waiting and they were perfect and by the way it was the middle of a monsoon, I was there. Bud your boy Cody got rocked in the OU game, and he struggled against a Baylor, who is the worst in the league, is there no coincidence in this start? And Martinez has never seen the field, and no we still would have lost to Iowa state and texas tech. Is it Zacs fault that Roy fumbles the ball 700 times, or Niles drops a ball and doesn't go after a fumble. Nope, you sir are funny.

  17. It doesn't matter where your seat is man, any freakin seat is good, cause your in the Stadium. People are so concered with where they sit. When I sold soda when I was kid I had the best seat because no one could tell me to sit down. The best seats at the Gator bowl were all the way at the top where no one would yell at you. By the way if you can't see something there is a TV the size of aircraft carrier there to. And your left arm is worth a game ticket. You need to get some lift my man!

  18. YOU ALWAYS WEAR RED NO MATTER WHERE!!!!!!

I agree, anyone who says black is gets a huge  , its red and if the other team wears red to then ok. You always wear red always always always. I never wore black for the blackouts when i was a student because its stupid, end of story.

  19. Who cares he is freaking MORON, his knowledge of the game of football and its rules is horrible. I hope to never have to listen to him yell and berate another radio co-host again, "Well when I played...." "Shut up NANCY, did you play football? Huh? What was that? I'll break you right now.....", boring and terrible radio host. Now Shick and Nick those guys are HILARIOUS.

    That is NOT NICE!

He knows more about football than most of us here at HuskerBoard combined. Don't kid yourself that he's a moron - he's a very sharp, very talented guy. He's not a natural radio host and his show was raw. But if you'd rather hear football from broadcast school graduates, that's your thing. I'd rather hear it from the guys who actually played, and if those guys are former Huskers, all the better.

He never talked about football just how badass he was when he played, and no his knowledge of the rules is not good. He had no idea the Halo rule was not in effect 2 years ago. I'm sorry hes not a good radio host, to proof pretty sure he got fired for low ratings because all he did was yell, like I said if you want good stuff listen to Omaha. I'm done with this.
