You mean you don't want 2-3 new threads daily about the coaching change for the next 2.5 months?

2-3? I wish it was that light.

We are going to get a new thread anytime someone tweets out a new candidate... People feel the need to create a new thread to share their thoughts when we have 100 threads already going.

But I guess thats better than it being apathetic over here.

Since college hoops is my favorite sport, I am always excited for the season.  Maybe not as much as some years, but still excited.

Not much faith nationally that the Huskers will be good so hopefully we can fly a little under the radar and surprise a few people.

My only hope is they can actually play as a team and have a few guys who will do the dirty work.

I'm not even sure that Thompson is better than the eighth guy on the list, Tanner Morgan.

I feel like everyone is under the impression that Casey has very little/nothing to prove and will just stroll in and crush it here. In my opinion he actually has a lot to prove, and if our line plays poorly this season he'll be in the same situation Adrian has been in quite a bit of the time throughout his career here where he'll have to try to move the chains all on his own.

Tanner Morgan cant throw anything over 20 yards without it being a duck.

That Offensive system hid his flaws well. He also had some tremendous WR's.

If anyone is a comic book/graphic novel fan, Amazon just dropped S3 of "The Boys" a couple weeks ago.  It is...a lot.  Super dark, graphic violence and lots of humor.  The really go for it.  Premise of the show is there is a band of superheroes that are out stopping crimes, etc. and they work for a megacorp that puts them on TV shows, movies, sponsorships, etc.  As usual, things don't pass the smell test.  Cast is a little under heralded although there are some recognizable names like Elisabeth Shue, Karl Urban, Laz Alonzo and a few others.  Show is definitely not for the weak of stomach.

The show has had multiple "What in the Eff" moments and I am not usually one to get shocked but it has some interesting moments.

I think the show is good.. Not great. It has moments where I am invested but feels a bit disjointed at times.

By talented, does he mean WR's who are 10 ft tall so he cant over throw them?

Not trying to be the "ex-boyfriend" but Adrian was not very good here. Outside of the OL, he was the problem plenty of the time.

But good thing he has more talent around him to let down.

This was clearly a team the US over powered. I’m assuming Costa Rica should be the same.

We have never won a WC qualifying game in San Jose, Costa Rica. That place is a nightmare to play at.

Costa Rica despises the USA(mad we made them play in the snow in Colorado) and the crow is super hostile. They have gone as far as to not allow any soccer programs near by rent their fields out to practice on. Government has made it a pain to get through customs.

We have more talent then them but it is a pain to play there.

That being said, they might rest some guys who are on yellow cards so they can play in the playoff game.(CR is going to most likely finish 4th)

Edwards & Lakes are no big deal, but I was hoping Andre would stick around.

I liked Andre's effort and energy but he was a depth guy at best. If you need him for anything more than 10 minutes a game, you are in trouble.

This should just mean Blaise, Walker, Breidenbach are set...

Being stated on another board that Fidone was taken out by an "overzealous FORMER walk-on" who took him out at the knees in a 7 on 7 non contact drill... It's spilt milk however you look at it I guess but damn that really sucks if true..

Wow...you guys know more about this than I do.  I just started following them on twitter trying to get a feel for the team and players. At this point, pretty much all I know is we're sending a team down there to hopefully kick the ball into the net more than Mexico does.  :dunno

Has the turmoil around management of the team subsided?  I remember a few years ago there were lots of fans upset thinking it was mismanged.

Not really. US Soccer is poorly ran and Berhalter is mostly crap. He had a nice stretch last summer with some wins over Mexico and that quieted down some of the anger but his system is just fairly boring. I assume we get exposed in the World Cup and he is fired--but who knows. The Klingman days sort of ruined bringing in an outsider.

We’ll be without McKinnie and Aaronson two of our best midfielders, so I’m not sure we can get a point at the Azteca. But hopefully we can and then the big matchup will be Sunday against Panama, where if we win we’re qualified.

I would be happy with a draw.

If we draw, we stay tied with Mexico plus still have a better Goal differential.

We have matched up with Mexico well, so not outside the possibility.

Just need to hope Canada beats CR and then we handle business against Panama.

Some concerns about Reggie Cannon having Covid. Hopefully Yedlin can help out.

Also some concern with a few guys who are a yellow away from being suspended. Lots of moving parts, but lets just leave the week with 5 points and I will be happy. Guarantees us a top 3.

  11. Some steam that Walker might come back. I also am not sure, but I could see Trey come back as well. Bryce is gone. I hope Lat is gone.

    Eligibility Remaining (13):

Derrick Walker- Would welcome back/ Think its 50/50

    Bryce McGowens- He gone

Trey McGowens- Probably gone but would love him back

    Trevor Lakes- Gone

CJ Wilcher- back and probably one of our better players

Eduardo Andre- Back but I think he still struggles for playing time

    Denim Dawson- back

Quaran McPherson- I think he leaves

Oleg Kojenets- I think he is asked to leave

    Keon Edwards- back

Lat Mayen- gone/ asked to move on

Keisei Tominaga- toss up. I hope he comes back but he wasnt what we hoped.

Wilhelm Breidenbach- back/ want to watch him grow.

So who can come back? Anyone want to project starters for next year

Some rumors that Walker will come back. Seems to be up in the air on Trey McGowens.

Blaise Keita and Walker together could give us a legit rebounding threat.

I really hope Lat doesnt come back. The guy has stone hands. I want to see them give Keisei a shot but who knows with him.

I assume CJ Wilcher, Wilhelm come back. No idea what we have in Keon Edwards or Quaran McPherson.

Overall, I am not too excited for next year.

The odds of Nebraska winning it all are obviously slim, but I would still take them over MN or PSU.

I also think I would give a serious look to Rutgers. They are fun when they catch fire.

  14. 1 hour ago, ECisGod said:

It completely depends on who comes back.  If both McGowens back, then 20 wins & the NCAA tournament are realistic.  If not, that might be a stretch.

Bryce isnt coming back. Trey might and honestly he is a great leader and would welcome him back.

My hope is the team learned this year that we need to take things WAY more seriously. The team has gotten some big wins and my hope is they now see what it takes to win in the B1g.

Now who will all be back, who really knows. Seems to be more steam that Walker could.

Change is probably ok but where I expect we see the most change is with coaches. We need our Asst coaches to hold these guys accountable.

That all being said, even if we solve that, I still dont know if I see this core of guys even sniffing more than 6-7 wins in the B1G

  15. With Dolphins/NFL getting sued, not sure how hot of a coaching place it will be. They are going to be in super hot water.

It just sounds like all this "Harbaugh to the Vikings is done" is coming from the Michigan/Harbaugh side-- feels like trying to "will it" to happen.

Reports from yesterday saying it’s gonna happen

All the reports are from Harbaughs camp--rumors are he is trying to get the Dolphins to bite.

I think the Vikings have interest but nothing is locked in.

Taylor Hall is a punk. Quit on the Coyotes, quit on the Sabres, rearranged MacKinnon's face last night on a hit that, while not necessarily dirty, I believe was intended to be. My biggest issue with it last night is that he wouldn't man up and own up to it. The Avs hounded him all night for a fight, and he ran every time. What a wuss.

Man, I can't stand the Bruins.

Taylor Hall is a tool, but that hit was clean. He shouldnt have to answer for a fluke injury like that.

It was bad luck but the hit was clean. We will never know intent.
