I thought that my eyes were deceiving me; however, K-State leading the North. You have to be fu***** kidding me.

 

Nebraska should have had the North wrapped up by the KU game; now, just hoping we can make a Bowl Game.

we will need 2 wins right? where do you see them? maybe, maybe Baylor and.........(CU, OU, KU, KSU, CU?)

who do we beat OK? CU in Boulder? K state(3-1 just won today?)? KU who is playing somewhat with OU? are you kidding me? maybe Baylor, maybe not. not with 1 touchdown every 4 quarters. Unless the D starts scoring 21 points a game. I think the d has a better chance than the o scoring 21. That is how low the o has fallen.

On a personal note, I feel for these kids. they did not bust there ass all their lives to make it to D1 and play like this. my son is playing his ass off and wants to play for NU. I would feel sick if he/we had to go through this. I really do feel bad for these kids.

I do not see a win on the schedule anymore

I know one thing. In 20 years when I am a "blue hair' in the stands, Ill be jumping up and down and screaming my **s off!

I too am an old husker fan. haven't missed many games on Tv or radio in 35 years. after Osborne took over, we had years of disappointment. It went something like this..we would win the Big 8 until thanksgiving, then maybe beat Oklahoma, maybe not. If we did and were good enough, we would go choke in big games even when we were favored..year after year...Penn State, Miami, Clemson, etc etc. We lost 2 national championships on the final play! Everyone woud say TO couldn't win big games. I forget the year now, but Osborne was going to be fired if he did not win the Blue bonnet bowl...the fricking blue bonnet bowl! how many of you have heard of that.

We used to load the program with scholarships for kids we did not want to play against. back then, there were only a few teams that got TV coverage. NU was one of them. We attracted a lot of talent because of this. Now...85 scholarships is the limit. everybody...and I mean everybody is on TV. Kids don't have to leave South FL anymore to be on TV, they can play for SFU and all of a sudden be in the top 25. these are the new realities. Parity is here to stay. Schools are learning there is big money in college football and they are investing in it. Minnesota has never really been a good program, but now they are in new beautiful facilities.

These events make this climb harder now than it was for TO. We likely won't see the 90's again as far as complete domination goes. It is going to take time.

I was deeply disappointed this weekend but this is going to take time. Bo was brought in because the defense needed fixed. I think that NU is becoming a destination for the best defensive players in the country who will skip South Beach for a chance to be coached by the best defensive minds in the country. Now he needs to direct his attention to fixing the O and do whatever that means. I think we are going to be in a good place 3 years from now. as painful as that sounds, whats another 3 years when I have 35 invested?

I guess from an ISU defensive perspective, I was thinking KU did not rack up 60 points on ISU, but KU isn't doing that on anyone this year....that is a 3 man show over there. ISU was 2 yards from winning that game on an off balance overthrown pressured pass.

the team just needs to collect itself, breathe deeply, heal , go one day at a time and slowly begin in a new direction offensively and gather momentum. hopefully we will have an oppty with ISU and Baylor coming up to get some new kids some reps. Not that Baylor and ISU will be push overs.

I would love to see Cody get a lot of reps, even if it screws up the rythm a bit. At this point he is probably the closest thing we have to a future at QB1. get some new kids some carries. work our TE's more and try to establish a bit more power game in the middle of the field(i know, i know , we need good fundamental O line for this). I am tired of all this damned WC O all the time with Lee hitting his recievers in the back outside shoulder blade 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage..

Lets move on to next week. I got a chance to see a little of ISU against KU. they have an OK passing game (gulp). Don't know a lot more than that. KU seemed to struggle with them mightily on both sides of the ball. After this weekend in Boulder and watching KU basically running on fumes most of this year with all the close games, I like our chances.

We have them in Lincoln. I think our D is going to take out some aggression. I think Cody Green is going to have a break out game with some nice running and deep pass attack. Anyone else????just trying to begin to get moving on....if that is possible.

the Big 12 North is a disaster. the race to the Big 12 asswhipping by Texas is wide open. Just add CU to that after their first half in TX and now a win over a very average KU team. Don't forget about ISU. everyone up here has 1 or 2 losses in conference. you cannot look past anyone. What disappoints me is I thought we had a legitimate chance to actually compete for and in the Big 12 Championship game. Now? Kinda speechless. good D, broken O. feels like 07 with a better defense.

Hey Watson,,GREAT job of killing the 3rd qtr as if you're team was up by 2 or 3 scores. You really did a fantastic job of running plays that would kill the clock..of not having your offense hurry whastsover...of never calling 2 plays in the huddle even once...of not signaling in for your guys to get to the sideline and out of bounds...yeah, FANTASTIC coaching job of just completely wasting the entire 3rd qtr!!!

I really think a blow out of this magnitude could take us a long way backwards. We cannot play with Iowa state ( ISU is better this year, not a slam) hell, I am concerned about CU now. the one thing I am hanging on to is this team does not quit. that attitiude needs to takeover now.

We have problems, Helu is our only offensive threat and Lee is the defenses greatest defensive player. The kid has no chance of leading this team and the defense always on the field is killing them.

 

When does Pelini make a change? When does Lee take his throne on the bench where he and his garbage qb playing belong?

make the change now! I am done with Lee. He is not the leader and does not have this offense behind him. might as well start getting Green reps now.

if this game continues like this, we just went backwards 2 years put green in and send watson to the locker room.

I watched the KU game today. I think ISU is better than you think. If that last pass is on the mark, the ISU reciever was wide open and ISU wins. KU's defense is pourous at best..probably not as good as MU's. they get gutted on the run and thrown on at will. if you can run and pass, they are screwed.... just like Duke and everyone else they played has done. The do have a hell of a passing game and if Sharp is healthy, they will run.

Our d will set up camp in their backfield. Suh is going to put on a clinic against that soft, young interior line. invite your kids and friends for the exposition

BUT.... if our O does not score and we play like we did for 3 quarters(I know ,I know, the weather), we lose 10-6 or some kind of low score. I love our D, but I am very sober about our O. play calling and execution. quarterback and depth at skill positions. I am as big a fan as any, but our O has flashes of excellence but a lot of inconsistency against better talent. Hopefully we get that worked out soon. I would like to see us run A LOT more. We will lose in conference playing 1 quarter per game on O.

I just had this conversation with a group of guys this past week. I said that I thought Suh was possibly the best "D-lineman" to ever play at NU. The guys argued their case, and I know all about the Wistroms, Peters, Tomich, Ruckers, etc....on and on and on........

 

My number one reason that I believe that Suh could "possibly" be the best D-lineman is the fact that he doesn't have the supporting cast around him that these other studs had...... Suh is flanked by a redshirt freshman DT, an average DE in Allen and another DE coming off of a broken leg. Let's not forget that the LB's behind him are the youngest in the Big 12......... The other guys I mentioned were surrounded by other NFL caliber players, in their "prime" at NU..... Suh is doing all of his stuff while being double teamed, and there are many other areas on the field to attack........ Put this guy on the teams of the 80-90's with the talent around him, and watch out....

 

Just my opinion.... and I am very old enough to not only remember those other guys, but also probably watched every game they played, so I am not just wearing the "rose colored Suh glasses".

excellent point HANC. He just seems to do as much as those guys with 1/4 the the supporting cast. I also do not remember them pulling off their blocks and deciding to knock down and intercept passes on a routine basis. No matter what you think, he is special and fun to watch.

DT Suh has impressive versatility

The performance of Nebraska DT Ndamukong Suh in Thursday's 27-12 win over Missouri is a perfect example of why we continue to fall in love with his game.

Suh was extremely disruptive all night, using strength and leverage to consistently control blockers against both the run and the pass. He is a heavy-handed player with a violent initial punch to knock blockers back, and Suh knows how to use his to keep blockers off his frame and disengage quickly to make the play.

He showed all those skills on a single play early in the first quarter. On second-and-19 from the Missouri 34-yard line, Suh engaged and quickly shed a blocker and used his relentless motor to chase down Tigers QB Blaine Gabbert from behind and strip the ball. Nebraska recovered the fumble, and while the ensuing drive ended in a punt, the play itself was impressive.

I know there is a lot of hype about Suh right now, but after watching 35 years of Nebraska football, I think he might be one of, if not the best, defensive players to ever come out of Nebraska . And that is saying a lot!

many had his motor and ability to get through the line, but when you look at the pass blocks, interceptions, first DT to lead the team in tackles in 35 years in 08 and probably again in 09, sacks, athleticism, receptions(last year against KS)etc. etc. he is probably also the best DT I can remember on any team. I really think he has shown a new dimension that no one has ever considered possible. about the onlything left to do is line him up at WR and hit him on a deep route. at this point, it would not surprise me(tongue in cheek). I listened to a lot of sports radio in Missouri yesterday, and to the man, woman and child radio show host and

mizzou callers said they are in absolute awe of him.

And I think you have to give a lot of credit to the Pelini brothers. Wonder where Suh would be if they had not come along. words do not describe what he is doing right now.
