  1. Seems to echo the sentiment of the nation, was listening to 'The Herd' on ESPN radio right now, and Colin was talking to an online sports writer (Didn't catch the name) but as his closing question, he specifically made a point to ask in the same breath..."Alright, Heisman trophy time...who SHOULD win and who WILL win?" The caller answered the way that I'm pretty sure 75% of the nation feels, "Ndamukong Suh SHOULD win...[Gearhart will win]." *EDIT* Guess Colin is out today, so it's a fill in talking head, same difference, just didn't want to misquote. *EDIT 2* Andre Ware (83? Heisman winner) was just on the show, and while he didn't give his official ballot, he mentioned that McCoy had had a good year, Ingram had been a great year, and then went on for about 5 minutes to talk about Suh and how his play is completely dominant, even so far as to say that the award should go to the best player of the year "...offense, defense, special teams, whatever..." Sure sounded like he gave him a good, official nod
  2. Terrible As a former Marine, it hurts even more that we do this to each other. Understand the incredible amount of adrenaline and testosterone that goes into a Marine, add in sports fanaticism, and most likely a bit of alochol, and it's always problems. Semper Fi, brother.
  3. Having lived in San Diego/San Clemente for a few years back when I was in the Marines, I can tell you that the firsherman's restaurant is good, but it's also about an hour drive (In southern Cali traffic) from San Diego, and not sure if I'd say it's worth it or not. When you're in San Diego, the Gaslamp is a blast, it's akin to the haymarket in Lincoln, but bigger, better, and with more bars, specifically, I loved going to a bar called the yardhouse, which has something like 100+ beers on tap, as well as a place called 'dicks last resort' where the wait staff isn't polite or curteous...they're dicks to everyone, lol. Old town is a good time, it's a bit more touristy with a lot of little shops and such There's a huge pier/wharf shopping/eating area right off of downtown on the water, I don't remember what it's called exactly, but there's some nice upscale restaurants and such there, as well as stuff for little kids to do during the day. If you're planning a family trip, Legoland is about a half hour drive north, and is a lot of fun, if you feel like making the 2 hour drive to LA, Univeral Studios and DisneyLand are always good ones to talk up.
  4. 1) As much as I love to see Suh lined up in the offense, it's pretty obvious where the ball carrier is going (Right behind Suh) whenever he's in, he's popular enough now that it won't work anymore (Though the House of Spearks could still be crushing if used correctly, but I'd rather have him rested up to crush the Arizona QB) 2) Don't worry about a HUGE playbook, come up with about 10 plays that we can run good, and then practice them, practice them, practice them, I'm thinking 1 or 2 Power runs (From the I or similar) 1 or 2 outside runs, 1 or 2 short passes (Use those TE's!) and 1 long pass with several different routes and a run option. 3) STOP RUNNING THE OPTION - WE CAN'T DO IT 4) COME UP WITH SOMETHING ELSE TO DO ON 3RD AND LONG BESIDES "Zac drops back...tucks it...runs....and is brought down at the line of scrimmage" My $0.02
  5. Let's be honest husker fans, we all trust the Pelinis, we trust them because frankly they're the sh*t. Bo knows what's good for Nebraska. That being said, my mom (Biggest husker fan I know) and I were discussing the game this afternoon and she brought up a worrying thought..."How bad must Cody Green be if we continue going back to Zac Lee?" Now that got me thinking, obviously we in red are clamoring for SOMETHING...ANYTHING to give our offense, well, ANY sort of hope, and that starts with the QB, so we've been calling for Cody. But if it's true that we trust Bo to know what he's doing, and if it's true that everyone, Pelini included, realizes how poorly Zac is playing out there (Along with the rest of the offense, granted) then shouldn't it logically follow that Zac is the lesser of the two evils we have for QB? Now, I'm not talking smack about Cody, frankly, we haven't seen him play enough to get any kind of idea how good (Or bad) he really is. But it's an intersting thought, and frankly, a scary one, that Zac might really be the best we have, or else you'd figure that he'd be gone already... Thoughts? (FYI - This is merely an academic question, so if you're p*ssed about it...get over it, lol)
  6. Going to be taking off to Colorado in a week or so here to watch the huskers roflstomp the buffs, never been to the area before and wondering if anyone had any advice on which hotels would be the best near the stadium for a good price? Going with a friend who is also a former Marine, so going to have fun with any CU fans who want to play ball, but trading out cars for one with a CO plate just in case, lol. Thanks
  7. With Rex out for "Awhile," what do you fine husker fans see happening with our offense? Is there another up-and-comer you'd like to see taking the ball, and if so who? Or do you think Watson will leave Helu as one of the only rushers and play more to Paul/McNeil/Gilleylen?
  8. I'm not sure if Bo needs to get more involved with their 'mentality,' Watson has got the O going to right direction, I think Bo's biggest benefit is his ability to light a fire under his player's a*ses and get them to preform, which I'm sure he'll do for both sides of the ball.
