I definitely think there has to be a decent amount of that in play.  You don't get so many guys who were major contributors/playing a lot to leave if there wasn't.

But what I've heard is other stuff away from basketball.

I've heard a little of that too. Not going to get into it too much because I have no hard proof. Plus I have a haircut appointment to get to.

Why do you say that? They have been far outperforming Nebraska for 5 years running.  They are about to have two first round pass catchers in the draft, one from Omaha.  Yes they are TEs but still.  I would be at least checking things out.

I think the statement was if he grew up a Nebraska fan, wouldn't give Iowa a call back. I get that mentality. It would be like if a lifelong Husker fan in the 90's all of a sudden was open to the idea of playing for Colorado, or a little later, Texas. Not saying about the product those teams put on the field or results against DONU. More of "I hate those guys" mentality.

  3. I have read through this entire thread. If I missed this point anywhere, I apologize. In the "Revenge Porn" law, it states that the pic or video must be posted without the victim's consent. There are a few questions I have about this one aspect to the law. What would be the legal definition of "posting"? The other is it's be stated that the victims mother intercepted the original message, but the victim then asked him to send it again. Would it still be without consent if the victim asked him to resend it after being told (by the mother) what the video was? It seems odd to claim emotional distress or embarrassment if you wanted it sent again.

I'm trying to be as empathetic to the victim as I can, I was just genuinely wondering.

Let’s make a drinking game out of it.

-1 drink every time he says “really”

    - 1 drink every time he says Pelosi or Schumer

           - 1 shot if he uses lying or crying as a prefix

    - 1 drink every time he says illegal

    - 1 drink every time he says barricade

    - 1 shot when he says “believe me”

    - covfefe

    - 1 small sip when he says fake news

This would go about as well as the "Strange Brew" drinking game. No thanks aye.

As a member of the press in that situation, how do you not audibly laugh? Maybe that's a section taught in journalism schools around the country. Like the rubber chicken exercise with the Honor Guard.

People always say this, and they say basketball can be good for footwork. Fact is, just b/c hes a wrestler or basketball player, even if they are good at them, doesnt mean he will be a good olineman. If that was the case, there would be a lot of good olineman walking around everywhere. We've gotten a few linemen over the last few years that were good wrestlers or bball players and we havent had an even slightly good lineman for awhile.

If you have an o-lineman of Bryce's size, they can sometimes be very stiff. Bad hip flexion, pad level, and footwork. Wrestling will help improve many of these issues with him compared to a non-wrestler. Plus there is a mentality that wrestlers have that is transferable to football. Like was stated before by @Hedley Lamarr, the silent mean assassins were the worst to play against. It's like playing against the Hulk, the secret is, they're always angry.

PLEASE don't read into this as a negative. I've heard Bryce give a few interviews. He often comes off as uncomfortable. I get the sense he has a "Please just let me get out there and kick somebodies a$$" mentality. A lineman that enjoys hurting people. A guy I'm glad is a Husker.

In regards to Mills and Bland. I really dont understand. These kids usually go to JUCO because they dont have the grades coming out of high school. Instead of learning their lesson they are barely going to qualify or still not qualify. Do JUCO's not have very good support staff to help these kids?

Was Mills really an academic casualty at Georgia Tech? I thought he was more of a team rules violation guy and went to JC instead of sitting out a year.

  9. This guy was my hero growing up. When he was student teaching at Park Middle School, I had him for a teacher. The class was transportation tech. It's where we got to build CO2 race cars from wood. He made this really intracately designed car that looked like the frame of a Nascar car. Basically like a skeleton. His got one run and splintered. Like six weeks of beautiful craftsmanship turned into toothpicks on one run.

Anyway, this honor is well deserved. Congrats 40.

As others have said- it will come out before feb. so doesnt make sense to try to wait. It will be obvious if we dont try to fill his DE spot. Also if other schools back off of him.

I was just about to post something in line with this. He may not announce, but the actions of others will be pretty telling.

  11. I heard a statement from the a coach that the captains requested people be kicked out of the varsity locker room if they showed up on the list a certain number of times. Like three times and you get booted from the nice locker room and lounge.
