You're in a real pickle either way. Green is going to make mistakes and likely blow a game before the season is over. But he has potential. Huge potential. Zac Lee has demonstrated that he doesn't have what it takes to play at this level. Granted he's getting no help from his line or receivers, but his own errant reads and throws are on him. At least with Green you make a down payment on next year, which is fine since you burned his shirt already.
Well said - I completely agree!

Really, 'cos I recall Lee at his best throwing 3 touchdowns in five minutes in the rain.
I guess that's not much of a threat.
So besides that, what has he done against decent teams?
I'll tell you. 10-11 quarters of not a single touchdown.
I have to admit, I'm drawn more to Green. But, on the other hand, has Lee had much help on the offensive side of the ball in those 10-11 quarters? Dropped balls, missed blocks, and stupid penalties can't all fall on this guy's shoulders.

Kansas is looking like crap right now!
Kansas = Worst undefeated team in the country.
Hope Colorado (can't believe I'm actually rooting for them) pulls it out.
-
Why couldn't it work? They ran multiple formations, including the spread and they were productive. Why can't you run a power-I formation with the spread and option football mixed in? Make the offense fun and simple/complex enough so that a good freshman could play early on offense.
I miss the 90s....could that work again? It seems like nobody runs the option anymore... Is it wrong that I want Green to get the start just to bring back the 90s?
-
I'm probably way out in left field, but Zac Lee doesn't even look like a Division 1 QB to me, much less the starter for Nebraska. I wish the kid well, though - it ain't for lack of effort.
Well said. Lee seems like a very passionate player, and passion can pull out some wins...just not against the tougher opponents.
At this point, I think you go back to the run game and use Green's legs to help accomplish this. It will hopefully give the defense more time to rest and really show the nation how good they are.

If he treats the media like that, imagine what the players are going to get.

zack lee is good.. he always hits the open running back for 2 yards on 3rd and 15... thats accuracy people.
o and its saying he is a little chicken sh#t who is scared to throw the ball past 10 yards!!!
I totally agree. It's so frustrating to see him throw 3 and 4 yard gains on 3rd and 15. But, moreover, why the heck do we not run the ball more? Even when we had Rex healthy and Helu 100%, run game was not often attempted! WHY NOT?
-
What it really comes down to is offensive implosion. It's like a cacade of poor execution, penalties, or stupid mistakes. Once one happens, I know that at least 2-3 will follow.
-
Things you can count on watching this NU Offense:
1. Ricky Henry getting at least 1 personal foul on 1st and goal, followed by a false start.
2. Paul dropping a pass and never correcting his BS, he becomes completely worthless rest of game
3. Dropped easy TD's by our excellent stone handed receiving corps
4. Watson will call the same play 5 times in a row even though is hasn't worked the 4 times prior.
You may add to the list as you see fit.
5. Lee broadcasting to the entire world where he plans on throwing the ball. His eyes are like an open playbook.
6. Not getting the ball to our playmakers. Where the heck was McNeill???
7. Three and outs as the norm.

"Forget about the Black Shirts. Get over it."
He's getting angry....
-
Bo = very mad. I'm scared.
-
Bo just said he didn't think the play calling was bad. Thoughts?

GREEN FOR BIG RED.
-
I still say start Cody. He's a good QB. Im sure he will start next year. I dont see Lee starting next year.
Exactly. He's already a junior. No point trying to build a program around him for one year with such sub-par performances. It's better to take someone younger and shape them IMO. Green will struggle, but will give out more payout in the end.

Our offense has got to be one of the worst in the FBS.
Anyone know?
Do we really need official statistics to make this determination?
-
We didn't look like we practiced this week. Everything was out of sorts.
The defense, meaning Suh and Crick, can't win every game for us.
So true! I want to know how much the national exposure gave them a false sense of security. They got their big heads knocked around today.
-
Bo better give the rest of this season to Green. We have nothing to lose at this point. It would be great to get the guy some playing experience early.
Even with this interception, I still give the start to Green.
-
f#*k this, we are better than this.
I think our defense is better than this. I think this is pretty much our offense exposed. Our only hope is these young guys like Rex and Cody. Hopefully they can lead this team back to its glory days.
-
The only thing that I want to see now is Suh run right over Leech. Seriously.
Is there a chance?

So, in your opinion, should Lee be cast aside for his poor performance and throw our hope onto the "green" Green?
