  1. Wanting to be closer to home is the only draw that I can see for him to go to FIU.

    but come on now FIU!???

nothing against them as a school but i think nebraska would be a way better place to further his career................

I agree. I was just trying to find one good reason he would visit a place like FIU. Thats all I got. :dunno

  2. Good luck to him. Only thing I can say is he is missing out.

No he isn't, he really didn't have the opportunity to miss out. Staff cooled on him big time.

That is what I have heard as well. Correct me if I am wrong Cave but the staff kind of sent the nonverbal message that he wasnt what we thought he was when we originally recruited him.

  3. I think he could be the best QB we are recruiting in '11 based on that film. Hes a TRUE dual threat QB. The thing that I like about him the most is that he is a QB that is very athletic not just an athlete playing QB if that makes sense to anyone other than me. =)

  4. Really I have a hard time changing something that works, but Hagg has shown an inability to guard someone running a fly pattern. He's probably had somewhere between 3-5 Pass Interference penalties for face guarding over the season. He'd probably be a better fit at a safety position, which we are losing both starters next year.

Smith has done good when he's gotten to play and hasn't made any glaring plays where he did bad. Overall he looks like he could be a good player.

Really I think outside of Suh and possibly Dillard (depends on if Compton or whoever are able to play dime like he did, or we may just go into a 7 DB set) I think of the positions that we'll have to replace seniors on next year, I think there's going to be very little drop off of production.

I agree totally about Hagg. If he would have turned around and found the football on the Pass Interference call in the endzone he could have picked that ball off.

The coaches believe that they have something special in PJ Smith. He got some good experience this year as well.

I hope Lavonte David (assuming that we get him from everything that I have read) has a smooth transition to big time CFB. He will be on campus in January (again, assuming we get him) ready to learn our system. He is an upgrade in terms of athleticism from most of the other backers that we have on our roster.

  5. Hes getting an in home visit by non other than Coach Bo Pelini this week. His dad is a huge Pelini fan and is strongly urging Curtis to go to NU from what I have read. I still like our chances with this one.

  6. I hope that he keeps the commit, but I doubt that he will. We are going to try to become a power running team featuring RBs, hopefully like Alabama.

Yeah cuz Bama doesnt throw the ball either. :dunno

Julio Jones is completely irrelevant in that Bama offense cuz all they do is run right? :dunno

You left this following thought out :

<<There will still be room for a reciever with exceptional talent if we can find someone to throw the ball accurately>>

No recruit could be impressed with our QB play. Before Julio Jones catches the ball there has to be someone who gets it closer to him than the other team's D back. Our QBs have not shown they can do that. If they can't we will try to pound the ball even more. Blocking wide recievers are essential to a good running team. Not sure that Carter is going to buy into that, but maybe he will.

We will be fine. It all starts up front. Barney is going to be fine at OL coach. We need an injection of talent and depth on that OL and that will open up the playbook.

  7. I hope that he keeps the commit, but I doubt that he will. We are going to try to become a power running team featuring RBs, hopefully like Alabama.

  8. Id take him as long as he doesnt eat up Austin Hill's spot. I think hopes are high for Cooper as well so that is our safety of the future so Terry isnt needed there.

Yep, I'd take him if we strikeout on Cooper or Hill. Either way I'm not too worried - he could be a good player for us but I won't lose any sleep if he goes elsewhere.

With the defensive performance we through up there tonight I think Cooper is ours.

  9. Another plus is that Rome and Guy will both be on campus in January. Can you imagine if we got OO to commit? Two to three years from now our DL would be head and shoulders above any other one in the nation.

  10. Aahhhh!! Curtis man say it aint so. Don't fall into the one year wonder trap of TCU. When was the last time they played in a big time bowl? I think you'd probably have to go back to 2003. Patterson is an up and coming coach and you would be lucky if he were still there until your sophmore year. Mizzou? Are you kidding me? If you like playing in front of two sold out crowds per year compared to the last 300+ then that's your choice. Ya their wr's put up a lot of yards and if that is the only thing important to you then sure that's a good spot. However, if coaching, facilities, fan support, bowl prestige, pro style passing game, family atmosphere and tradition are higher on your list then NU is unmatched. You've obviously seen NU's offense so I hope you see that you could come in and play heavily from day one.

TCU a one year wonder??? This will be their 6th top 25 finish in the last 8 seasons, all under Patterson. And if all goes well their third top 10 finish. Dont kid yourself. Just because the MW has bad bowl tie-ins.

And as for MU. Honestly look at it. Take of the red glasses. If you are a WR and had no ties to NE where whould you go?? A place that puts WR in the pros and gives you lots of opportunites to get the ball or NE. MU will have their 3rd straight WR drafted this spring and add in another 4 or 5 over the past 3 years that have gotten tryouts and camp invites.

And quit acting like MU is some scrub school. Its 66,000 a game, not like 20,000. Incase you hadnt noticed nearly every school in the big 12 has facilities that rival NE. Mizzou's are right on par with NE in that regard. You rattle off coaching and famility atmosphere, but MU has both of those. And a pretty good rep in regards to them both. You are obviously a fan of your team, and thats just fine. But obviously Nebraska isnt all that or you would lock up all the top recruits with ease...

But Curtis, whether he decides to stick with NU or go to Missouri, or another school for that matter is looking out for him. He wants what is best for his career. He is just a kid that wants the best fit. I'm sure he will do well where ever he goes. Would I like to have him at MU, yeah. But i wont fault him for picking another school.

    SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont read into this at all. We were in on this kid WAY before anyone else. He is going to be a husker. I have full confidence that he will be. It is natural for 18 year old kids to feel uneasy about their decisions. His family is very supportive of him becoming a husker as his dad was decked out in NU gear for Curtis's unofficial for the K-State game. Dont worry about this. Papuchis will soon quiet all of this.

Pinkle is the new version of Bill Snyder. Will build a good program for Mizzou standards (which were not high when he came in) but from now on he will be 2nd rate in the North and never have you competing on a national level. That patty cake defense you guys call football in Mizzou will never get you anywhere.

If he wanted to go to a program that is going to slide BACK to irrelevance then sure MU is the place, but if he wanted to compete for Big 12 titles NU is the place

  11. Notre Sucks will name Meyer, Stoops or Brian Kelly ... and lose no recruits to us. My guess is Brian Kelly gets the nod and the Irish still maintain a top 15 recruiting class. They won't skip a beat.

    SheepdogMark

I dont know about that. I think if the Bernard kid wants to run the ball that he shouldnt go to Notre Dame if Kelly gets that gig. Not saying he wont, but in Kelly's offense they really dont run the ball.

The thing that it will do is that it will turn more kids considering ND away because they are a mess right now.
