Base defense all day baby why not give up 60% on 3rd down
-
I dont think this team wins another game. The offense is broken and chin's d curls up in a ball and gets soft when things get tough. my hope lies in 2 things: 1. frost will be forced to stick with mills and maybe the running game can get going. i dont care if its 20 yards in the first 10 carries, he needs to stick with it and it will pop eventually. 2. the defense actually decides to nut up and take leadership of this team. the offense has a ton of injuries right now - this isn't an offensive team. look at every championship team and you will find times where the defense made up for the offense. when was the last time that happened at nebraska?

I’d say the DC has gone chicken. At the beginning of the season he was a riverboat gambler. Now he looks almost like Diaco.
Either play to win or go home.
And like several guys have said, get some beef on the line when your three DL are getting run over by five OL.
Show some ability to adapt and quit making your guys look as chicken as your play on your heels calls.
I agree 100. Chinander did this last year. Come out aggressive then went conservative. The defensive game plan was the biggest problem last week imo

I guess Frost gave that speech again, according to some other posters. Sometimes it works and sometimes it really doesn't matter much at all. I guess we will see!
You've got real locker room issues if you are giving this speech. The defense has its issues but I dont think this is directed at them. I'm just hoping to get to 6 wins and get to a bowl. I would love to see am extra month of practice for the young olinemen

This is retarded and has nothing to do with winning games

My concern is that he's ruuning a pac 12 offense and a pac 12 defense in a conference that is the total opposite

I'm a little concerned with Allen's comments about the time away from each other during the bye week being good. I get it, it's a grind and a break is nice, but you don't often hear guys on a team talking like that. Am I reading too much into that?
maybe, but i dont think so. Something has seemed 'off' with this team and i frequently find myself wondering if something is going on in the locker room between players or with coaches.

The lines aren't going to be fixed overnight, or even in a couple years. I put 2023, but this is assuming the line recruiting gets better, and the right person is in place coaching them. I am not sure we have the right coaches in place to coach up the offensive and defensive lines.
I agree. If Scott wants to continue to call plays and go cheap on o coordinator he needs to go out and get a legitimate d coordinator

a few years after they decide to stop being a soft finesse football team

Any coach with half a brain knows Nebraska has no front seven and you can run right at them all day long. Every team we play now is going to run stretch plays and either beat them to the edge or cut back because the linebackers aren't disciplined. Chin is in way over his head.
And he'll stick in base defense all game because he's afraid to bring help

Adjustments are good.
The ability to shed blocks is better.
Frost mentioned it.....they knew what Minnesota was going to do.....but we got physically manhandled.
From what I saw they looked they had no idea how to handle the 3 or 4 plays minny ran all over them with all game

Offensive line - garbage
Defensive front seven - garbage
If anyone was wondering why Martinez was a head case this year, it is because he had ZERO faith in the line protecting him. If I had to worry about getting injured on every play, I'd probably be a nut also.
What I can't figure out is how we end last season looking so good to looking so bad this year. Did losing the seniors really drag this team down that much? Right now I don't know if we can beat teams like Indiana, Purdue and Maryland, if we do, it will be very close in all of them. Wisconsin and Iowa are going to destroy us so get it out of your heads that we stand a chance against them.
If you recall the oline was terrible last year until they fired bum conrad and put farmer at center. I dont think ppl realize how much of a difference it makes having a center that knows what they are doing. After that zig took off.

Farniok is soooooooooooooooooooooooo bad on the edge
He is objectively bad. The problem tho is that he cant run block.

Start Nelson over alex davis. He's made more plays this drive then davis has all season.
Here's the thing....Alex Davis is a 3rd down pass rush specialist ONLY. I mean I'm no expert

Never go full retard

It is time to play bernhardt at rt and move farniok inside. Hixson should be a reserve. Case Warner should start. Oline coach should be given walking papers

The offensive line is F-

Coaching changes have to be made after this game this is a disaster

That's bs. The linebackers are playing bad but they could use some help. How about making some f#&%inh adjustments

Here's a good drinking game if you want to stay sober: take a shot every time we put 8 guys in the box in the 2nd half. Even tho their QB is a bum and they wont pass unless they absolutely have to.

We have never ever played to the caliber of the big10. Ever since we have been here, while other teams with new coaches pick up on there schemes and recrute to what we need here we struggle. Time and Time again they struggle, just over and over and over. Say what you want but really, if were not going to adhere to what it takes to make it in this league whats the point.
Yes we have big 12 lines and run big 12 schemes. Still

How about the fact that Minnesota has almost 250 yards rushing in the first half?
how about the fact that about every time Minnesota runs it it seems like there's no one there to tackle the back until he gets 8 yards?
Because everyone but our jv oline can run against base defense
-
Hey guys let's play 6 and 7 man boxes on defense and bring no pressure basically letting then do whatever they want. Chin is more concerned with getting subs in the game than actually creating a game plan.
