  1. Bury, I enjoy hearing your perspective and the perspective of other non-Husker fans on this board when it comes to analysis of games, players, etc. But why criticize us? You won and get to go to the National Championship. Why does our fans' heartache (and conspiracy theories that go along with it), really bother you enough to post a whole topic about it? You choose to join and post on another team's website. Another team that is fresh off a very upsetting and close game. There are a ton of people on this forum that have congratulated you, wished you luck, encouraged others to root for your team in the NC, and have expressed the "clock issue" is utter nonsense. Why is whatever point you're trying to make so important? You already won. Just leave it alone and bask in your glory. This was only meant for people still whining about it. No disrespect meant for all others. On some TEXAS boards, we have a few so-called NU fans that are posting non-stop about the conspiracy. Most good teams have been on both sides of these games, weird officiating calls, etc. The Huskers will be a force if they can get some offense. ~v~
  2. The whining about the clock conspiracy is getting sad. Nebraska fans are better than that, especially considering that they were given 1 second back on the clock in the 1994 Orangebowl. Nebraska has 1 second put on clock in 1994 Orangebowl ~v~
  3. All I can say is that ou blames everything on the refs and never really look at the entire game and the mistakes and missed opportunities. This boycott reminds me of that mentality. I've always thought NU fans were the opposite of this and are classy as well as give props to the other teams. NU deserved to be in that game, they proved it and considering they had no offense, they almost pulled it off. They played a near perfect game and if it wasn't for the 2 mistakes in the final TEXAS possession (kickoff and horse collar), you'd have won the game. The 1 second thing was not a conspiracy. If you listen to National sportsradio shows (Rome, etc) - they are all saying that there was a second left. It sucks - I know - it happened to us last year at TT. NU should walk with their heads high - I feel NU is back and I will be rooting for you in your bowl game. ~v~
  4. As a TEXAS fan, I completely agree with you. I was thinking at the end of the game, that if NU can somehow figure out an offense, they should be very good in the coming years. I feel for you guys. That was a tough loss. Last year when we lost to TT on the very last second, it took a long time to get over. Honestly, I'm not sure I'm over it. You guys played great and deserved a spot in that game. Good luck in the future, just don't get too good. ~v~
  5. Who knows. That's why we play the games. I've never been one to boast about how we were going to destroy anyone. Bama looks great and balanced. TEXAS didn't look so great. I expect TEXAS's D to do very well. The offense needs to play better however. As for my comments about it being "our" year, I meant no offense - just sometimes it seems like it's one team's year if you believe in that kind of thing. As for the refs. I really disagree. sooners love to blame the refs for everything - It's not usually the NU way. I don't believe that there were any blatant blown calls, but if you do, then here's an old addage for you to chew on. Losers blame bad calls, Winners overcome them. I'm not saying that NU are losers, but blaming the refs won't get you far. ~v~
  6. I've always said the NU fans are the classiest in the Big12. Dang that was a good game. If Bo can find himself an offense, the North will rise again. This is our year. Yours might come soon, considering what most of us have just experienced. ~v~
  7. Yeah, probably about the same that realize now that TEXAS should've played for the NC last year instead of ou. ou embarrassed the Big12. If you get to the big dance the way ou did, then you have to win - there is no other option. They failed and it brought down the credibility of the entire conference. I'm sorry to have to tell you NU fans, but if NU wins, then the whole conference will be considered weak. NU lost to iowa state, remember. TEXAS has to win to bring back some bit of respect back to the conference. ~v~
  8. Not cool. I have often said that NU has the classiest fans. However, your statement lacks class. I don't wish injuries on any of these kids. ~v~ A. I don't see where this person said they hope that you or any other Texas fans wish injuries on players. B. If that was what this person was implying what has your fan base done collectively to make Nebraska fans think any differently? C. Nebraska fans are for the most part classy but honesty is a virtue I personally value a great deal. I have personally witnessed extremely bad behavior and call into question the integrity of Texas fans as a whole. There is also a very arrogant way in which most Texas fans carry themselves so forgive us if we might question weather Texas fans have the best interest of our players in mind. I'm sure there are many good natured Longhorn fans who love college football and understand that it's young kids playing ball out there who's families are watching in the stand. It's just not the impression I get from your fanbase overall. Thats honesty! Well that makes 2 of you that lack class. I'm sure all NU fans want you 2 to represent them. Too bad you can't rise to the level of most NU fans, but instead you stoop to the same level of behavior as you are claiming is exhibited by others. Pathetic. ~v~
  9. Not cool. I have often said that NU has the classiest fans. However, your statement lacks class. I don't wish injuries on any of these kids. ~v~
  10. I heard the same thing on ESPNAUSTIN.com this morning. The reporter couldn't give the name of the "significant" offensive player and wasn't sure if it would be announced today or at game time. It will hurt, but we are very deep at WR. It always sucks to lose one of your best players especially with so much riding on the game. I can tell you this, if he can play, he will. Jordan Shipley is a MAN! I hope if he is hurt, he gets healthy for the bowl season. He helped get us here, he deserves to be part of the end of this great run. ~v~
  11. I predict that TEXAS manhandles NU, but NU plays respectable and the classiest fans in the Big12 (NU) give TEXAS a standing ovation sending TEXAS on the way to the NC. ~v~
  12. If I were a cornhusker fan, I would have a sign that reads "MAKE IT STOP!!!" Thankfully, I'm a LONGHORN fan. ~v~
  13. Great Post and Great idea. I think you should pass this on to the NU football coaches. It will surely guarantee a win for NU. ~v~
  14. Hypocrisy is pervasive in this article. The article, itself, takes a whining, "it's not fair," attitude. I'm a Longhorn fan and can honestly say that most Longhorn fans greatly respect Nebraska and their fans. Your fans have the most class in the conference - noone else is even close. That being said, this article does not represent what my experience has been with regard to Nebraska fans. Holding is allowed to some degree in the conference from what I've seen and TEXAS is not the protected team in the conference. If they were, they would have called the numerous calls in the TT - TEXAS game last year; one of which injured Orakpo (considered one of the top defensive players in CF) and he didn't play the 2nd half of the the game. If TEXAS was protected, they would have made the calls, I would have spent a lot less time screaming at the TV and TEXAS would have played for the NC. As for Mack's lobbying, whining, or whatever you want to call it at the end of last year, I ask everyone to honestly ask themselves if they would have done the same thing for their team. It is the obligation of the coach to try and get his team in the NC if he has the chance. Our coach lobbied for it; ou ran up the scores in games at the end of the year by leaving their starters in even when other teams had removed theirs. We each took a path, it just so happens that stoops' strategy swayed the BCS voters more. I expect that Nebraska will give us a good game and it would hurt bad to lose. But, if this unfortunate event were to occur, then Nebraska would be the one team in the conference that I'd give props to. Have a great game, but not too good. ~v~
