What if Matt Davison doesn't catch the TD against Missouri in 1997? Does Osborne still retire? Osborne waited until after the regular season, when Nebraska was assured of playing for a share of the national championship, before announcing his retirement. Does he reconsider, knowing the talent he had on the roster, to try for another title in 1998?

Honestly, in that scenario, he probably waits until '99; with all others being equal, if TO's on the sideline in '99, we have another national title.

Not a TV guy or big into streaming but I do have YT TV and stuff.....

Saw the first 2 episodes of Yellowstone and it sucked a$$.

I had big hopes.  I was hoping for something awesome.  But it sucked.  Not my thing to keep plowing through it.

I gave Yellowstone a season and a half, but couldn't push any further. I need shows/movies/games where there's at least 1 person I can root for, and everyone in Yellowstone is absolutely awful; not even one Walter White-type character where you know they're the bad guy, but you can cheer for them. Alongside that, the writing is horrible, the acting is wooden by 90% of the cast, and by the point I got to, I wanted the super volcano under Yellowstone to erupt and end everyone.

Couldn’t let this one go either….Michael Jordan got on ‘the good side’ of David Stern?  What, by being a transcendent athlete that grew the popularity of the league of which he was commissioner?

I mean, it certainly helped; he only got suspended for a year and half for gambling instead of getting thrown out of the league altogether.

  4. Chiefs cut MVS today; they save $12 million in cap space by doing so. It's a logical move, and he had a rough regular season, but he came up huge for us in the past two playoffs. I hope he finds a good team.

Except this is the opposite of happy hour. People will show up for cheap drinks. A burger that costs more than usual at lunchtime….not so much.

But IDK, I’m not really their target demographic. I prob had Wendys only 2 or 3 times in the last year. I always thought fast food places loved it when cars were piled up in the drive thru while they had peak staffing scheduled. I mean it’s not like they really care about food quality or good service. I guess they want to profit even more for people with bad attitudes to throw s#!tty food in a bag and then tell you to pull ahead and wait to get the wrong things.

Wendy's has one of the best chicken sandwiches in the business, and those Frostys....but yea, this is highly stupid.

  6. My thoughts on fixing the All Star game revolve around turning into a half court 3v3 tournament:

    - 8 top vote getters are captains

    - Draft a team of 3 from the 16 remaining All Stars

    - First round and Quarterfinals are on Saturday, with the skills competition

    - Semis and Finals are on Sunday, with the Dunk and 3 point contests

    - Winners get $1 million, 2nd place gets $750,000, 3rd $500,000 and taper down from there.

Scoggin was dismissed from the team two years ago this month, and Love was dismissed at the end of the season (but was removed from the team at the same time as Scoggin).

Britt Prince knew all of this before she committed to Nebraska. UNL had already done their investigation and taken the action they felt was warranted, which did not include removing Williams. This would have all been disclosed to recruits, especially someone like Prince, whose mother is also a coach.

I wouldn't be too worried about Williams being ousted and losing the incoming class.

I don't know, man. Public pressure tends to have more weight to it than internal investigations, and if even half of what is being alleged is true, it's going to look real bad.

I agree that Brady is most likely going to be awful but Olsen is biased as f#&% and never shuts up. He's like 75-80% of the broadcast and the PBP guy misses calling plays because of it

I get that Olsen can come off as biased (his call at the end of the Super Bowl last year annoyed me), but his enthusiasm for the game is infectious, and he does a good job breaking down what teams are doing in an easily digestible way. If he chooses to leave Fox after next year, he's going to make a lot of money.

  9. Kevin Harlan is the best in the business, IMO. I'm starting to come around to Chris Fowler as an NFL PbP guy, too; his call of KC's game winner in the SB was much better than Nantz's.

Greg Olsen is the best color guy in the business, and it's a shame he's getting pushed out of his #1 role at Fox for Tom Brady.

  10. KC's problems on offense this year were twofold: trying to fit in pieces at receiver that just didn't work, and Mahomes believing things were solely on his shoulders. The impetus for the Super Bowl run was the loss to the Raiders on Christmas: after that, Reid shortened the rotation at WR (thanks for helping us win a SB last year, Kadarius Toney, but enjoy free agency) and Pat learned that it wasn't all on him to win: he could lean on the best defense he's had while he's been in the league and become much more patient with his reads and throws.

If KC can find a way to keep Chris Jones (verbal contracts are binding in Missouri, yes?) and L'Jarius Sneed, this defense could be even better next year.

It was a good football match-up, though K.C. remains a relatively small metro market and SF is not in the Top 10. The halftime show wasn't exactly can't miss performers. The new streaming platforms didn't add much to CBS's historic network numbers.

Would a person be wrong to suggest Taylor Swift made the difference?

It's only an 8 million jump from last year, so maybe?
