  1. I hate to rain on everyone's parade, but the '95 uniforms were FAR AND AWAY better than the unis from '99-'01. I wouldn't mind getting rid of the stripes on the pants, but the NEBRASKA across the jersey during the Solich Era always struck me as tacky more than anything.

  2. I've created Overton, Kenesaw, Amherst, Elm Creek, Alma, Shelton, Southwest, Bancroft-Rosalie, South Loup, Elwood, Arapahoe, and Axtell. All of there uniforms are pretty accurate. Roster names for most of them, but i couldn't find a good roster for Shelton, Southwest, South Loup, or Bancroft. Feel free to download them username is huskerchuck, and i'd be interested in any that all of you have created

I went to Southwest and made a pretty accurate version for my senior year. Roster and all. Wish they had Teambuilder for everyone of EA's sports games.

And here are the teams I've made. Some real ones, some fictional.

    My link

If you have a fairly accurate roster with numbers positions and height and weight I would greatly appreciate if you could get that to me

I wish EA would just store all the teams in the same format, then let you download them to whichever console you use, rather than making them console-exclusive, dependent on which one you use.

  3. ^agree with Landlord.

I am a sucker in terms of consumer loyalty. I played both MW1 and MW2 on the PC and thought they were fantastic. Black Ops had its cool points too. But my integrated graphics could barely handle that, and certainly can't handle either Battlefield 3 or MW3. I don't have a console either, so I don't have much of a stake in this, as I likely won't get to play either.

So from my distant standpoint, I have to say, BF3 looks hella more impressive than MW3. I know MW3 just did their reveal trailers and BF3 has gotten more hype, gameplay footage, etc. But c'mon...BF3 looks sick. MW3 looks like MW2. And "fictional world war 3" seems a little too grand for that universe. Or maybe it's, who wants to play that kind of game anyway? Seems a little too future-war, a little less modern war.

Sounds like it could be the last Modern Warfare, which is sad in a nostalgic way, but I'm skeptical if they are taking this storyline in the right direction anyway.

Anyway, if I could, I'd get both. But I'd get MW out of nostalgia, and BF3 because it looks like it kicks ass.

Also is it just me, or do the graphics in BF3 gameplay footage look WAY better than the graphics in the rendered MW trailer?

PS, can't wait to see what Gaz's next voiceover reincarnation is named.

Thus far, a vast majority of BF3 clips shown have been from the PC version, which are better than what will be put out by both MW3 and BF3 on consoles.

And I'll get MW3. I've tried Battlefield games, and the feel just isn't there. That, and most everyone in my social gaming circle will have MW3, and I get First Person Shooters to play with friends.

  4. I've watched and read up a lot on Armstrong, and I have to say that he's my top QB recruit this year, ahead of both Alford and Fuller (more on him later). Armstrong is the best pure QB recruit that we're on right now, and is the best one we have a chance of landing. His throwing motion has a kink or two in it, but his delivery is smooth. A change in his lead-arm placement would probably do him good, but as a HS Junior, his motion looks better than Taylor's does as a college RS Sophomore. It doesn't look like he has Taylor (or even Brion's) speed, but he is deceptively fast. The one thing that really interests me is going to be seeing him play without Malcolm Brown in the same backfield; now all 11 sets of eyes will be on him as opposed to the best RB in the country. Regardless, I think he's got the potential to be a star, and he's really high on Nebraska. When we first started recruiting him, we weren't in a position to take a QB; we told Tommy that his offer was, pretty much, contingent on what Starling was going to do. After CGreen left, Beck had a conversation with him, told him circumstances had changed, and that we had a spot for him. Tommy was incredibly impressed with the honesty and and the way Beck and Bo handled that part of the process, and that's when we really shot up to the top of his board.

*A note on Fuller: I think we have a good shot at landing him, but I don't think he'll be a QB at the next level. He's too much of an athletic freak to sit behind TMart, Carnes and possibly Turner. He'll move to another position and play immediately.

  5. Can we all just agree on one thing: that nobody should ever link to a Bleacher Report "article"? 99% of them are terribly written, and if they originated from Husker Board, they would be mocked relentlessly. People take them too seriously, while they really are just poor message board posts that pass as "blogs".

  6. I don't know what everyone is complaining about...this is easily the best NCAA game in years, possibly ever. Repeat after me: SLIDERS ARE MY FRIEND. They are there so that you can customize your gaming experience to what you think is best/funnest/most fair. Or, how about lowering the difficulty a level. You don't HAVE to play on Heisman, you know. I play on All American, with the sliders turned up in most instances, and this game is a blast. No troubles playing pass defense, a little trouble with run defense (because RB ability for the CPU is turned up), and on offense, passing is difficult, mostly because our O-line is terrible at pass blocking, and our QBs are erratic, accuracy-wise.

  7. Halo 3 is terrible... but I will take your money in Halo 2

    Gamers RPG 2 - 7th in FFA

    Gamers RPG 4 - 4v4 Champion

UNL Gaming tourny 2006 - FFA Champion / 4v4 Champion

    UNL Gaming Tourny 2007 - 2nd place 2v2

    Bricktop Bar Halo 3 Tournament 2008 - 1st place FFA - 1st place 4v4

Yeah... I wasted some time with that game...

Thats not true halo 3 is a great game

    No, its not.

The hit box is lagged so no matter how well you can aim, the game is designed to have the RNG overpower skill.

    Each map is fundamentally flawed

The BR is also powered by a RNG that will produce shots that stray from the path in which they would normally go

I could go on and on and on....

Halo 3 is a bad game, which is why it was so unsuccessful at MLG, especially compared to the success of Halo 2. Although if you play the game like some people do, and just enjoy running around and shooting things, having no interest in LAN, Tournaments or MLG entry I guess halo 3 is.... fun?

God forbid he enjoys a game that you don't.

  8. 1. Scott Frost

    2. Ahman Green

    3. Mike Brown

    top 3 most despised

    1. Randy Stella

    2. DeAngelo Evans

    3. Jamal Lord

I'm just glad I grew up while nebraska was good rather than mediocre. Too many young guns today like LSU, UT, UF etc...the kids I coached in lincoln for midget football liked Nebraska but they weren't their favorite team. LSU, OU and UT were big favorites in that group of kids I had.

Why do you despise Jammal Lord?

  9. you wouldn't happen to know why kat von d was in a nebraska shirt, would you?

It would be better if she took it off and never wore it or any other Husker clothing again. She, and the likes of her, are not Husker-worthy.

    Idiotic post is idiotic.

  10. Niles Paul clearly was the most impressive player today. Yes, TMagic looked impressive running the ball. But to say he had an equal or better passing day that Green is a bit off. Green showed better decision-making skills as well as better accuracy. This race is going to go down to the wire, but I expect Zach to win. If Martinez is ahead of Green in the fall, I think there needs to be a serious discussion about RSing Green.

  11. This program is embarrassing and before it gets any worse we need to send Doc pack'n. Four years is enough to see that a coach just isn't getting it done. Anyone have suggestions for a replacement?

Why don't you send your resume in?

Duke asst. coach Dawkins I think his name is maybe anyone???

Dawkins is coaching at Stanford now. I highly doubt Nebraska pulls anyone away from Duke to coach here.

  12. I'm with you on Newcombe. If he stays healthy, he keeps that starting job over Crouch and takes the team just as far if not further than #7. Bobby ran like a gazelle as a great option QB, and this guy could actually pass the ball too. His effectiveness as a passer put Crouch, Frazier & Frost to shame.

Honestly, I liked Newcombe more than Crouch b/c he had the same fire & competitiveness that defined his predecessors. I'm not saying Crouch didn't have great competitiveness. It's just that his seemed to be on a more individual level, whereas Frazier, Frost & Newcombe were a more team-oriented drive. Btw, I think that's why Crouch was never able to get a National Championship.

I thought Newcombe was the better passer and a great runner, but he had a tendency to fall back and take the 10 yards sacks and run out of bounds that sometimes drove you nuts.

What I would have loved to see was what O'Dell James would have done if he chose Nebraska instead of Baylor

Still not seeing how Ganz is in anyones top 10 unless they just started watching football this century.

Maybe because in just a year and a half's time, he set numerous records and was amazingly effective? He was a master of the offense....just compare the offensive efficency of 2008 to 2009.

Sophomore quarterback Joe Dailey produced a record-breaking performance to lead the Nebraska football team to a 59-27 win over Baylor before a sellout crowd of 77,881 at Memorial Stadium. Dailey completed 13 of 20 passes for an NU record 342 yards, surpassing the previous record of 297 yards set by David Humm in 1973.

Was it that hard to set records when most of the past QB'S never had to throw it up that much? Maybe you should go back through the schedules and see what he did against good competition. Missou, Oklahoma, What exactly was his biggest win?

    Clemson

The game remained scoreless until the teams combined for 17 points in the final five minutes of the first half. The first score came courtesy of a Husker turnover, as Clemson's DeAndre McDaniel broke into the NU backfield and deflected an option pitch. He was able to find the end zone after the ball bounced right back up to him and he raced 28 yards for the game's first score.

Trailing 7-3, Nebraska got the ball right back when Ty Steinkuhler tipped a Cullen Harper pass and Anthony West made a diving interception at the Clemson 27 with 1:05 left in the half. But the Huskers returned the favor on the very next play, as Ganz threw an interception that Crezdon Butler returned 59 yards down to the NU 13.

Ganz hurt Nebraska defense more then any QB they played that year for every td he threw he probably had a turnover that set the other team up for a score.

You're not seriously comparing Joe Ganz to Joe Dailey, are you?

In your theory you said the reason Ganz was high was because he breaking records. Joe Dailey broke those same records so does this mean he was also in your top 10?

    Your comparing Ganz to

    Scott Frost

    Tommie Frazier

    Turner Gill

    Crouch

    Jerry Tagge

    Dave Humm

I could go down the list probably another 10 qb's and the comparison of Ganz to them would be worse then Joe Dailey to Ganz IMO. Stats are great but wins mean a hell of a lot more and your QB is lacking in that department.

Though this is supposed to be everyone favorite QB not the best, so I'm wrong in saying he shouldn't be in anyones top 10.

I'm not saying Ganz was my favorite QB, but I'll throw him in the top 10 Husker QBs list any day. All you had to do was pay attention, and you'd be able to say he's a HELL of a lot closer to that top group than he is to Joe Dailey. That's just selling him, and his contributions to this program, very short. Did he win at the same clip as the 6 you listed? No. Those are some of the all-time best QBs in the history of college football. However, if we're playing the wins card, we have to take a look at what was around Joe when he was here. By that admission, you have to admire even more what Ganzy did while he was here. Top 5? No. Top 10? I'd put him there.

  13. 12-6 in basketball is still 12-6, no matter what the names of the schools are. You conveniently leave out teams such as Oregon State, and USC, and TCU...all wins. There's a lot of schools out there with a losing record, with only 2 or 3 wins, regardless of competition. I will hold them to a different standard, because im realistic. Dont hold them to a standard they are not capable of reaching. Its not fair to yourself and its not fair to the team. Doc has made this team better every year. Maybe its only been 1 game better in Big 12 play the last couple years, but its progress. Patience is key here I think. Nebraska basketball doesnt have a Tom Osborne or tradition to make a quick turn-around and run to greatness.

No, it's not. There's a thing called "strength of schedule" which Nebraska has none of. The nonconference schedule is a joke. Oregon State, USC an TCU are NOT basketball schools. Just because they are in power conferences does not mean they are good wins. You can't sugar coat the fact that, for whatever reason, this year's basketball team is terrible. We're young at almost every position, and Doc still can't figure out how to set a rotation and how to properly motivate players without completely destroying their confidence. He's got a long way to go before establishing Nebraska as even a mid-tier basketball team in the Big XII.

I am stupified as to what some of you expect from this team, this program, and this coach in this current state. You dont make moonshine out of moonbeams, and you dont make great basketball teams out of basketballs and a fans want. Doc has nothing to work with. I just dont see how anyone lays the blame for this at Doc's feet. You have to take the whole program in, and examine it. I have a lot more questions about the seriousness of this team in terms of the athletic department and support staff than Doc. Honestly, what have they provided him with since hiring him to succeed? Other than the honor of leading the wreck? sh#t. NOTHING. Doc is a great coach. The product your seeing is not completely controlled by him. You bring in someone else, same story. Those that want to point to Kansas St as "oh, they can do it, why cant we..." are lacking in the history department and overlooking that their athletic department laid their proverbial manhood on the table and put their money where their mouth was. I am positively not sugarcoating anything. If this team was "terrible," they would have a losing record. We'd be 1-674. Unfortunately, Doc will probably continue to do nothing more than tread water with this program until A: he's fired and someone else gets 4-5 years to drown, or B: the athletic department steps up, and Doc figures out how to lure another Sallie and keep him this time.

I agree with the fact that Doc has been handed the short end of the stick from the Admissions department, but this team is mostly comprised of his players. It's his coaching decisions (to which he has admitted his shortcomings) in-game that are mystifying at times. He can't decide on a rotation, he can't decide whether or not to stick with upperclassmen who have reached their peak or play underclassmen with (arguably) more potential. If a player makes a mistake, he doesn't let him play out of it. Rather, he pulls the kid and embarrasses the player on his way to the bench. I don't doubt that Doc has potential to be a very good coach. However, like anything, it takes time, and work. He needs to show improvement. It's downright embarrassing to be a major Division I school with no NCAA tournament wins. I'm not calling for Doc's job, but he needs to show something.

  14. We've had some great audio moments in Nebraska football history. How do you rank the men who brought them to us over the radio waves?

    Here is my poll.

    1. Lyle Bremser

    2. Greg Sharpe

    3. Kent Pavelka

    4. Warren Swain

    5. Jim Rose ]

I can't disagree with this list. I never got to hear Bresmer, but I understand how closely associated with the program that he is. Sharpe is really good on the mic. Swain and Rose were below average to mediocre.

  15. Peterson and Callahan damaged our program on the outside; they hurt our performance and the culture of what Nebraska Football is. That being said, what Lawrence Phillips and the aftermath of his ordeal did hurt the soul of Nebraska Football. In one season, a program and a coach that was regarded with nothing but respect was morphed by the media into a win-at-all-costs program. It's something that a lot of people still unfairly hang on Dr. Osborne; something that a lot of people still associate with Nebraska.

  16. Lee is a mature, well-spoken young man with a good head on his shoulders. It doesn't mean he will be great next year, but he's definitely someone I'll be rooting for. I think he could use a little more love from the Husker fans :)

Yep. And in my anecdotal experience running into him at a sandwich shop some random Sunday, he took time to shake my hand, say hi to my wife and daughter and be pleasant overall. My very brief experience with the guy has been positive, and on the field I never thought he was half so bad as his worst critics said. He has some polish to put on his game, but I'm thinking he has as good of a chance to do that as anyone.

We tend to be too harsh on our young QBs.....remember what we did to Frost? Lee is a good kid, and a good young player. I hope he comes back from this injury next year and lights things on fire.
