Welp party pooper Schaefer on 1620 pumping the brakes on this a little bit. Says Kirby Smart will in home and its nowhere near a done deal.

Schaefer said something contrarian to get attention? Knock me over with a feather.

He’s on his 4th year as a Buckeye. He had to contend for the job this year, they wouldn’t place him as the starter for their upcoming bowl game, he’s not Fields or Stroud and a lot of blame for the UM loss was thrown his way.

IMO we’re only a QB and WR away from making a very large jump. Maybe he and Fleming will see that also.

I'll start the prediction thread now: if McCord comes to Nebraska, we WILL make a bowl next year.

I said that exact same thing yesterday, I can't believe those are the WRs that this team put together. Now, as a Broncos fan (and my son is a Bills fan), I thoroughly enjoyed watching them lose yesterday. I just don't think they are that good this season (compared to how amazing they've been), and I think you have to look at the WR group first and foremost.

I also kind of like Mahomes, but that garbage he pulled yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. I get the passion, but dude lost his damn mind. Then, after having some time to cool off, he ranted about the call in the postgame presser. A call by the way that was 100% correct. He should be yelling at Toney, that dude is a clown.

100%; Toney has had one impact moment (and granted, it helped us win a Super Bowl), but he's been clownshoes since then. And I couldn't tell who Pat was yelling at at the end: it might have been the ref, but it also looked like it could have been Nagy.

Fun stat: in KC's 5 losses, 4 of them have come with a blown play by a WR on a go-ahead TD in the 4th quarter.

  4. It's really weird seeing a single position group be responsible for the downfall of the best sustained period of success in your franchise's history, but damn, the Chiefs WR room is hot, hot garbage. Probably should put the GM on the hot seat for putting it together.

It would be great to get McCord, but I'd feel even better about it if he had say 150 yards rushing instead of negative yardage.  His longest run last season was 9 yards.  Hopefully, our RBs can produce.

He'll make up that lost rushing yardage in completion percentage, passing yards and TD/INT ratio.

Does it really matter who we get? You guys are going to b!^@h about it no matter who it is

If you prick me, do I not bleed? If you tickle me, do I not laugh? If you poison me, do I not die? If our QB has another inexplicable turnover in a high pressure situation with the game on the line, do I not b!^@h about it on HuskerBoard?

I looked for his name there first lol

No worries! I think they ususally get put up there as offers go out. There is a template that is used if you want to put his profile in there, though.

The same DK that led BW to a 49-0 loss with 2 stud receivers?

You needed a lot more than 2 stud receviers to make a dent in Westside this year.

If you want to look at it another way, they actually scored the 2nd most points on Westside's defense this entire season in their first meeting. In fact, they accounted for a little over 25% of the points given up by Westside this season.

We need to start pulling for the Detroit Lions.  Ever since they hired Dan Campbell in 2021, I was very excited about that.  Then they got a new stadium in 2022 (it's bad a$$), and started tweaking their uniforms.....  and then started winning last year......  leading the division this year (by far) and becoming better and better.

This isn't your dad's Lions, or your grandpa's Lions.

I really like this team, their coach, their stadium, their uniforms, and their speed and talent.

One of my best friends is a Lions fan; has been since Barry. Even though they beat KC this year, it's really nice to see them having a fantastic year this year.

Is this an answer to my question?

Well....again...back in the day, one big advantage the O line had was that they knew when the ball was going to be snapped.

Now...they don't have that advantage?  Also, many times the OT isn't looking at the ball.  So, does he go when the D starts moving?  That seems like an advantage to the D.

Not really, because the first time the D actually attempts to jump the snap in this way, you wait a half second after lifting your head next time and get 5 free yards. It's like anytime you think a defense has a bead on your cadence; you just alter it.
