I was at this game, and this play really bothered me. Not only should the play have been stopped like all of you have mentioned, but the ref that spotted the ball closest to Helu, ruled him down. The only ref that called it a fumble was the ref that was taking an earful from Paul Rhodes. The thing that makes me most mad, is that in that situation where you cant really tell if it was a fumble, isnt it proper to rule in favor of the offense and then go back and review it to check. Plus, they ruled it Neb ball, and then met on the field for an extended period of time of just talking to rule it a fumble. I just feel that the right thing to do would be to rule, on the field, in favor of the ballcarier and then they can review it. Even some of the Iowa State fans thought he was down, and that it was handled pretty weird.
