Where are these people coming from? I am beginning to wonder if the organization of these protests are from groups external to the schools. They are certainly finding willing participants though. It's breaking out at Yale.

If I had to guess, the same place the nutjob Biden didn't win protests came from. The Kremlin.

Simply due to the fact they end up in the US.

Lots of "western" nations much closer and easier to get to.

What western nations? I'm assuming Europe? Think about why you might want to hop on a boat or plane to the Americas and go over land from there, rather than trek expansive mountain ranges, cross vast deserts, and go through literal war zones.

Chinese and Arabs crossing this from where

Are you confused, or do you not understand why they choose the path they do?

For obvious reasons it's easier to make landfall in Central/South America and then travel overland to the US southern border (even Cuban immigrants do this now). If you come up from South America you have to cross the Darien gap (Southern Panama/Northern Colombia). Considered to be the most dangerous place on earth because there are no roads, no law, cartels, native tribes, extreme terrain, and unpredictable weather as it's the rainiest place on earth.

I agree for central and SAmerica.

I disagree concerning Chinese nationals and Arab nationals

Why would they be any different? Some of them choose to cross the Darien gap, which is the most dangerous place on earth. You don't do that as an immigrant for S&Gs.

That's my era. I didn't really need a student loan in 1980, but I took one out anyway because the rate was 7.5% and I could put it in a 13.5% money market account.

Absolutely unheard of for us young'ns. And you wonder why we complain so much.

As mentioned in past threads, it's interesting to revisit American history and realize how much of our patriotic founding is based on acts of vandalism and aggravated police confrontation, designed to escalate resistance and create martyrs.

And that the rich white guys had to convince the common folk to follow their lead.

Greeley has a special HS for the rejects and worst problems. Complete waste of taxpayer money imo. They should just cut em loose and let them get an early start on their careers in prison.

Isn't that why we have over crowded prisons, repeat offenders, and a cycle of poverty?

Idk what the right answer is, but kids like that need some serious discipline that they obviously don't get at home.

Their selective outrage is also pretty telling. Google has been up to plenty of nefarious things over the decades which they apparently didn’t seem to mind.

Who says they didn't have concerns before? There have been many articles over the years about Google employees voicing concerns on various issues. The latest I can think of is how incognito mode isn't really anonymous.

No s#!t! You don't do your job or talk s#!t and you get fired. I'm strongly considering calling out executives at my company face to face in a town hall because of how they've trashed the company, but I would fully expect to be fired for that.

….and a private high school…..in Nebraska for example, would lead to what great connections?

I get that much of the time it’s who you know and not what you know but I struggle with the prestige aspect at the HS level. Sure there may be a few nationally that move the needle but that’s way less than 1% of the people who are paying out the a$$ for private schools.

Happy five-year anniversary of the release of the Mueller report, and this ringing endorsement of Orange Man Bad's virtue:

Gee….how about doing the right thing the last three months while thousands of Ukrainians have died because you refused to do this?

This is so weird... Good. But really weird. What change? Is he trying to appeal to a more moderate base now that he's got a taste of the crazy train?
