  1. Anyone else who watched the game on tv notice that EVERY time they showed Taylor on the sideline that there was Joe Ganz, coaching him face to face. That's obviously has to be having the most effect with Beck up top to have someone like Ganz both recent experience and age wize helping the kid out.

But I thought Joe hated Taylor last season? or was that Zac Lee? I get so confused with all unsubstantiated rumors and drama flying around, but I'm positive it was fact that he hated our QB's.

  2. I'm not saying T-Mart is or needs to be a 'rah rah' guy, but I guess I'm not seeing what others are? After TD's, Taylor is maybe congratulated by one player, and if someone else scores, I never see him. I'm not saying he doesn't do it, but I don't see it...anyone got any video to support his new-found enthusiasm, or his teammates' enthusiasm for him?

Being at the game I can tell you that he is usually sprinting to the endzone on longer scores to congratulate the ball carrier or on shorter plays he meets them at the sidelines. It's hard to find a highlight long enough but I'm sure some others that have been to the games can back me up. I'll see what I can dig up though

Just watching his presser today he seems to have and er of confidence about him now and he's more relaxed with the media. Both him and Rex alluded to them joking back and forth in the huddle about the first time that he slid, so he's obviously comfortable with some of the guys.

And +1 to the OP if you didn't start this thread I definitely was going to start one about Taylor.

  3. I bet if we were still in the Big 12, Crick would've been suspended for his hit on Price

Ed Cunningham would've sh#t his pants.

I sh#t you not Saturday night I turned over to the Utah BYU game real quick and the first voice I hear is ed cunnting-ham going off about targeting! Holy flippin cowpies was I pissed, so I promptly turned the channel and could no longer watch a game I legitimately wanted to watch all because of that d bag and his holier than thou attitude.

  4. Last two games after the "cant be beat, wont be beat' chant they went right into Enter Sandman - this could be pretty cool if it became our version of 'Jump Around' - at least for the few of us who can still jump. :)

Now if only everyone new the lyrics to that song! Looking around last game I would say I saw about an eighth to a quarter of the students actually singing the song.

  5. You can say what you want about either QB but I'll have to agree with krc, both those teams could play and I think by season's end FSU could be top 10 material again. Top 5 is questionable this early but based on their performances they were definitely both top 10 worthy.

  6. The series before this hit they were getting close to Price and I turned to my buddy and told him they're going to get to him real soon and it's gunna be sick! Sure enough next series out this masterpiece manifested.

  7. I only heard a quick snippet of another interview and he said something about it being a weird fourth quarter. He did sound really up beat though and was praising the Oline pretty heavily, I thought he was tripping or something with the way he sounded. I'm guessing he felt the team played pretty well and the execution was ok but for some slip ups, but the coaching may have been lacking some.

  8. The one's that tick me off the most are what happened to Meredith, when they come off the field with their jerseys no longer covering their shoulder pads, how in the hell does that not get called. The jerseys doesn't just remove itself!

  9. ok this is sad. I live in lincoln on 14th street just north of the stadium. Of all the places yall have mentioned I've been to or know of is Runza, Ali Babas and Misty's in Havelock. The others I didn't even know existed

Woah, get out a little more man! You could probably just hit up one place a week in the haymarket and never regret it.

Another one that nobody has mentioned is Buzzard Billy's, also in the haymarket. I know its not local per se, but I doubt they have it in Washington. Really good Cajun food and some of the best hush puppies I've ever had. Only better southern food I've had comes from my Mom and her family. And you can try alligator while you're in Nebraska if you eat there, tastes like chicken (no joke).

  10. I would say get a runza at the stadium over the resteraunts, they're burn ur mouth hot at memorial. The resturaunts can be pretty hit or miss on quality (mostly miss for me). Seems like I get them and they either not cooked and soggy or cooked but not even warm. Had a few cheese ones at 14th and cornhusker and the cheese wasn't even melted. But they've still got some of the best hamburgers there are.

  11. "I think when you are an offense that tries to take advantage of a defense and find a weakness, and if you're able to exploit it and that's their weakness, you're probably going to get a big play out of it," Beck said. "I'd like us to be able to be more consistent running and being able to throw it. But certainly, if we're able to find a soft spot in them and hit it and get some big plays, that's good. That's just kind of part of football sometimes. It's like asking if guys are tired of hitting home runs."

Count me among those in the "Not Worried About It" column.

    Disagree. See last year.

See last year's injuries. Cross fingers and pray last year's injuries aren't seen again.

That puts my mind more at ease than anything. He knows that it's happening and if he's worth his salt they're working on it for better teams down the road.

  13. Maybe this can be the intelligent conversation thread since the others are overrun with trolling.

I like what I see from the Huskies' offense as far as how we match up defensively. Hawaii committed a lot of the same mistakes that we did against Fresno, like false steps failure to attack the line and things like that. But if Bo has anything to say about it those issues will be more than corrected by Saturday. Another observation is that the O line doesn't seem to get a very good push on run plays, it's more of Polk finding a sliver of day light and making people miss, that probably won't work as well against the quicker athletes that we have on D.

On the other hand I'm not sure what to think about our offensive match up, to be honest I'm a little concerned. Hopefully we see some new material that hasn't been unveiled yet, but even if we don't I like our odds with our young play makers. And I definitely think Taylor will have to be more careful with the secondary, because as was mentioned they look very opportunistic.

Although I like our Chances pretty well in this game I'm still a little torn as to whether it will be a couple touch down win or a tight fought game through the 4th. I think it really comes down to the game plans and for that we'll have to wait until Saturday.
