  1. I don't know but it had damn well better be fast and it had damn well better be good! I have never ever EVER sold a game back, but this one is really coming close to that point for me. I can not beat Fresno state in dynasty with Gatorbate's roster (and some customizations AND adjusting sliders) by more than a TD, not to mention if I do win the score is in the teens every time. Don't even get me started about online after going on a 4 game win streak I get blown out with no offensive TDs in 3 straight games and the opposing teams in the 38+ range. I know I'm not good but I sure as hell know I'm not that bad.

  2. Actually that no call at ISU while unforgivable is understandable. I remember thinking how could you miss that! But I watch several different replays from different angles and watched evey official on the field, the two who had the best views iirc were the umpire and the near sideline judge and both were obscured by our players, not to mention Cody Green was screening the official from the pile. So I dont have a problem with us getting the penalty because thats the way things go sometimes it's the human element, but the fact that it was clearly malicious and the office did nothing about it yet penalized Martin for something arguably much less intentional and malicious is just outragious

  3. On field goals you need to lower the trajectory in order to get distance, just push the stick down that you aim with and line it up.

As far as defense against the computer I like to use nickle for 3+ recievers, the 1-5-5 works pretty well with some blitzes mixed in. 2 WRs or less and I use 4-3, 46(mostly goal line short yardage), and 4-4. as far as plays cover 2 sink seems to work pretty well against a lot of plays and cover 2 man is ok for a basic D. Dont be scared to blitz but try not to use all out biltzes a lot because you can get burned real bad on passes or runs.

And use the adjustments for the line and ball strips. You'll get some offsides but it can pay off with sacks. Mostly you just need to play and see what feels comfortable, could take a week or two to figure it out.

  4. Anyone also notice that with already horrible passing, Taylor Martinez can't throw to save his life? I had Kyler Reed running a go straight down the middle... no one covered him. I press the button. Taylor launches it to the sideline... Wtf?

Actually I found him to be somewhat realistic in his passing, at times it's stellar but other times he over throws em on a wide open td or throws behind on a slant route.

But I really think he is ridiculously underrated in his running. It seems like they didn't even touch his running ratings from last and sometimes he even seems slower. Zac Lee was faster in this game last year and could run any option better than Taylor can this year. I bumped his acceleration up to 90 and it still didn't feel right so I had to put it at 99 and put his speed up to 90 and it felt pretty close to what he looks like. I honestly feel for players like him and Dennard and a few others they need to rewrite acceleration these guys first steps just can't be created in this game.

On a side note anyone else really struggling with NU's line they absolutely abysmal in all areas. I play on heisman by the way...

  5. Both interviews were pretty similar, talked about how busy he was this summer with subway, gumball rally, working with ubisoft, etc. They also talked about nick names for the lions defense said he like silver crush and the roarsome foursome.

On the lions they cover his thoughts on Nick Fairley; he said he'd be willing to take him under his wing and work side by side with him and hopes he can start fresh and change the idea that people think he's lazy. Also said by the end of the year he expects him to be a great editions to their line. Talked a lot about how he had great mentors to learn from at Nebraska with Vanden Bosch and Raiola as well as the Peter brothers. Also talked about how Nebraska helped him develop his work ethic. Suh really has a lot of respect for veterans and his elders both on the lions and from Nebraska. They also talked about his guarantee of making it to the playoffs this year and how he feels that should always be the goal. He said the believe and showed last year that they could play with anybody and even beat the super bowl champs.

Briefly talked about the chinstrap that he'll wear and concussion awareness that he's doing in the league and with youth sports. I know I missed some smaller things but those were all the main things they covered.

He's got SO much potential not just on the field but with the media and everything else, really well spoken on both programs. He seems like he could become absolutely huge in the next few years with his sponsors, the media, and philanthropy. I could even see him in a commentary roll some day, I really think the sky is the limit for him at this point.

  6. Been playing a lot since I got it... does anyone else think running the ball got ridiculously harder this year? It seems you're lucky to get 2-3 yards a play if you run the ball.

I don't even bother to run unless it's an option T-Mart to Burkhead. I don't feel that this game rewards you enough for running. Sometimes I will go in shotgun then run on the side where there are no blockers at to get the first down with Martinez. Overall the game is fun but it is very difficult when the AI scores everytime it gets the ball in the last 2 minutes.

    Too true my friend.

Running seems to be just as hard as it was last year, i used last year sliders on 2012 to help even the game out. The result was Martinez's opening week he ran for 189 yards and Burkhead has 111 yds on the ground. Even Jamal Turner broke open for a 41 yd touchdown after a Jet Sweep handoff against FCS Midwest.

Passing to me has become harder, almost near impossible without touching the sliders on the game.

This is the biggest problem I have. Last year I think I threw at most 3 picks in a game just the other day online (seems like the AI is harder online) I threw 5 of them and only 1 or 2 were really poor choices. The rest were linebackers making their famous 30 inch vert superman pick on long balls that would sky any real life linebacker. Or a combination of the superman and warping... and they said that wouldn't happen anymore... Although its more of them AI being able to do a 180 and leap the opposite direction in a fraction of a second.

And the other nasty one which really messes me up I just noticed tonight. Was the DB's playing in front of the WR's and coming around behind them and beating them to the ball on a crossing type route.

  7. NCAA 12 will be the best game of the franchise and probably one I will never trade in.

With the exception of the first next-generation game, NCAA 2007, each installment has been better than the previous. Each year the game gets more realistic and less annoying to deal with. I don't think we'll take a step back until they come out with new consoles in about three or four years.

The one thing that sucks about sports games is if you don't trade them in relatively soon after getting them, you get next to nothing back for your trade-in.

I don't know about less annoying it's always about the same level of annoying for me even though the next game is always better than the last. EA has a history, to me, of under achieving and I fall for it every year. Doesn't mean I don't like the games They just frustrate the hell out of me more often than not.

Rant on: This year they still haven't fixed PA passes and most of them don't work without getting sacked before you can even think about passing, which really screws with the poor play calling in RTG. Also left over from last year is the AI's ridiculous accuracy during the 2 minute drill although it's not quite as bad, they do seem to have some trouble once they get into the red zone. And there are some new issues like the huge lag time when you trying to use no huddle the game freezes for a good 2 or 3 seconds, and you can't access the play menu for a frustratingly long amount of time even when it runs again. The biggest issue that I noticed was when the opposing offense runs no huddle and they make a long play down field you players can't get back to the line before they snap the ball and you get an offsides penalty, happened to me twice in one game since the AI is ridiculous on the 2 minute drill. But hopefully this and the lag can be fixed in a future update.

I just don't understand how they can always add new ideas and concepts and leave some really sketchy stuff in there by now they should have a close to stellar game. Rant off

On a positive note next to FIFA this is probably the best non-shooting game by EA and it looks pretty damn good and plays for the most part very smooth with the new tackling engine.

  8. A couple things always bother me about UFO sightings

1- How do they not burn up while entering the atmosphere?

2- What allows them to hover and move effortlessly across the sky? Gravity does not apply to them?

3- Like someone said earlier, how are they NOT detected by any radar or satellite imagining and blown out of the sky?

    1. how do our vehicles not burn up entering the atmosphere?

    2. who knows but technology is always advancing

    3. they are detected by radar in many cases, just google it and you get a bunch of hits. But like you said in #2 often times they completely out maneuver our fighters.

I do find it hard to believe that we are alone in this vast universe. Have they made it here yet, I don't quite know what to think about that. But UFO's are just that, UFO's and sometimes they cannot be identified.

  9. 1. Black 41 flash reverse

    2. Harold Hartley's 60-yard TD catch against Notre Dame in 1922

    3. Alex Henery Kick, Suh Pick

    4. Mike Rozier's 100 yard run that went 5 yard for the TD against UCLA 1983

    5. Will Shields's fumblerooski vs CU in 1992

    6. The bounce rooskie 1982 vs Oklahoma

    7. Prince Amukamara's INT vs. Oklahoma in 2009

    8. Nate Swifts punt return against Virginia Tech in '08

    9. Marlon Lucky touchdown pass to Nate Swift against Texas

    10. 1982 - Scott Strasburger interception to end OU's final drive and sealed the victory for NU 28-24.

It's a toss up between 1&2 for me I know how important the 1922 game was but it's so distant and there's not much there too see, but every time I watch Black 41 Flash it gives me chills, especially with the radio play by play over-dub.

  10. Pretty much all those guys would have been better then Callahan

Rodriguez probably would have turned out exactly like Callahan, in fact it seems like he pretty much did at Michigan. An offense that could work but a lack of defense to win games, and an alienation of the boosters and alums, they pretty much pissed people off in the same way. Both good coaches but ended up in the wrong places.

  11. Title says it all. Should be on ESPN at 3:30 eastern, ESPNU at 4:00, 4:30, & 6:00, and finally, ESPN2 @ 7:00.

How is that I am busy during that entire time?!

Set the dvr! gotta love remote dvr didn't even have to get up and turn the tv on...

    God I feel lazy now...

  12. Never really understood the fascination with sports cars. Sure I like sporty stuff, but not if it comes at the expense of a normal-sized backseat and trunk, lousy gas mileage and several thousand more dollars. It would sure be fun to play with though.

That my friend is the fascination and today they hardly come at the expense of gas mileage unless you get an srt8 or something like that.

  13. Gee, great. A bunch of losers lit up on JD in a sh!thole of a town seeing a bunch of has been burn outs.

    PASS

    burnouts?? Mhmmm

Better this than some crap ass bands like Nickleback, Creed, or some pop group

Don't flame me too hard for this but give Creed some props, although their front man is a douche and has absolutely zero voice talent left the rest of that band can play and Mark Tremonti can absolutely shred a guitar.

  14.

I was also doing it for fun; it's his freaking job. If he can't figure out how to set his feet when he throws, is it because he just doesn't have it in him no matter how hard he works, or because he doesn't care? Because it's got to be one of the two.

Right, it's not because he's a student athlete who has classes and life outside of football... He puts in the hours and effort at practice, the weight room and film studies I'm sure, otherwise I guarantee you Bo would not have him on the field come Saturdays. Not to mention he's got to keep his grades up to even qualify to play. Your asking a 20 year old kid to sacrifice even more of his life than he already has when the vast majority of guys his age are out getting drunk and chasing tale. I think I'll give him a little leeway in his throwing motion and if he decides to work on it... hey, that's ok with me too.

Well, I think it's too bad that our starting QB is apparently too busy to figure out how to improve his throwing motion, hips, feet, or any of the half dozen other problems with his throwing abilities. Perhaps he really isn't to blame and between all the other responsibilities that Husker QB has to contend with, there is simply no room to improve passing mechanics. If so, then perhaps we ought to think twice about bringing in QBs who don't arrive with solid passing fundamentals so they can just spend time in film study, the weight room, and learning the plays at practice.

Did I say there wasn't room to improve? No. But a majority of coaches would rather not touch a quarterbacks throwing motion unless something is catastrophically wrong with it. Going back to free throws for a second, you develop a rhythm and sometimes when you mess with the rhythm you screw a lot more things up than you had wrong before. Look at Tebow (as much as I don't want to use that name) Meyer never touched his motion and he got through college just fine if I remember correctly, even got a few awards and won a couple big games. It was only when people started evaluating him for the pro's that he bothered to look into it. And it took him more than a summer to get things changed, in fact he's probably still working on getting that motion down. Now does Taylor need work yes, but is that the biggest offensive problem from last year I doubt it. Look at dropped balls line play and the like as well. But like Zoogie says the fact that Taylor knows the plays and has a year under his belt really does mean a lot more than a year of running the scout team.
