  1. Time travel and reversing losses are hard, as some of them set up other seasons/wins, but as you will see below this is probably too much, and will bring up bad memories, but every time THESE games are mentioned, I die a little inside. 1984 Orange Bowl vs. Miami (National Title. I wasn't alive, but I get a little teary eyed when watching it on TV.) 1994 Orange Bowl vs. Florida State (National Title. First I can remember, if we win, who knows how many titles in a row we could have won. It would have been at least 3 in a row, obviously.) 1996 Big XII Title game vs. Texas (The first ever Big XII title game, and the team was flu ridden I believe?) 1998 vs. Texas. (I was there when the streak stopped, horrible feeling. Could have won the National Title as well that year) 1999 @ Texas. (If we win, we should have won the National Title) 2001 @ Colorado. (Just got outplayed, no excuses, that hurt considering we beat Oklahoma earlier in the year.) ...then we somehow slip into the title game... 2002 Rose Bowl vs Miami. (National Title. We we're just out played, not enough talent, but a title in the 2000's would have been nice) 2002 vs. Texas (For a struggling team, that was a great time to turn it around, and it just didn't happen) 2005 vs. Texas Tech (I couldn't decide to laugh or cry at this one) 2006 vs. Texas (Good offensive call, better defensive play, I was bitter but thought we had turned the corner with Callahan) 2008 @ Texas Tech (Against Tech's best team who went to #3 in the nation and we get it to overtime and lost) 2009 @ Virginia Tech ("Nebraska can't win the big game on the road" I got so sick of that and thought,"THIS, THIS is the ONE!" I thought there would be no worse Husker loss ever...boy was I wrong) 2009 vs. Texas Tech (I wanted revenge so bad on these guys, but injuries on the offense seemed to hold us back, well at least I hope that was the case, as we couldn't sustain a drive, and we lost the momentum in the first quarter) 2009 vs. Iowa State (Attended, and it was a fluke game for the century) 2009 Big XII Title Game vs. Texas (Attended and that was just evil. Pure, freaking, evil. It couldn't have got any worse after the Virginia Tech game, but nope, it had to be topped out by this game sadly. Let's hope this is the last of "evil ending games" against us, and especially against Texas of all teams. All of the Texas fans down there still all acted like they "won by 45" and as if it was a "piece of cake". Minus the National Title games...I'd say 2009 Virginia Tech/Texas games, followed by the one losses that we were away from an undefeated season/potential National Champions. Texas appears A LOT in this post, and they have a series lead, but every game besides the 2003 game has been a classic, just sadly more in their favor. Hoping we turn the tide against them starting in 2010! Texas Tech is also a thorn in our side, I'm sick of seeing them beat us too! This was so hard to decide, considering how many times we could have won National Titles or been undefeated, but some of those losses "had to happen" to make the team better. Or at least in some cases.
  2. 1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation? -Since I can remember. My dad took me to my first game in 1991 when I was 4 years old in a loss to Washington. I have no memories of the game, but I know that was the start. I started remembering more during the 1993 season, specifically the National Title game, in which I watched with my family and we were all devastated when Byron Bennett missed the field goal at the end. To this day when I watch that game, I still think/hope/pray that it goes through. I remember a ton of the 1994 season as well, and it just grew even more from there. 2) What/who led you to The Nation? -My family 3) Where are you from originally? -Falls City, Nebraska 4) Where do you live now? -Lincoln, Nebraska 5) Favorite Husker memory? -National Title victories! -2001: Oklahoma vs. Nebraska. I was in the stands for Stuntz to Crouch. Epic, just epic. Tommie Frazier's run in the Fiesta Bowl is a close second, due to not being in person to witness that. 6) Worst Husker memory? -1996 @ Arizona State loss, loss to Texas 1996, and losing in 1999 @ Texas, we got our revenge, but that team should have won the National Title. Tom Osborne retiring, at the time I didn't fully understand everything about it. When I was older, I knew more of what was going on and was furious when Frank Solich was fired. I also hated seeing the terrible/no effort losses to in the Callahan era as well. 2001 Colorado/Miami, every single 2009 stings (for now), but not as much as the others listed. 7) Number of home games attended? -Too many to count, but I do know that when I attend the stands vs. Oklahoma, we never lose. 1995, 1997, 2001, 2009. 8) Number of away games attended? -Not a "true" away game, but we did attend the 2009 Big XII Championship game. 9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel? -A few autographied helmets and hats. -My tall red sox, I wear them every game, gotta love them. (I'm a huge Red Sox fan (got them the day of Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS that "sparked the comeback"), but I wear those things every time the Huskers play (and bigger Red Sox games, 162 times in the summer would get smelly and rotten pretty quick). I still wish we wore them for home games like in 2001! 10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) -Student Section in Memorial Stadium is nice, but a "dream" section would be the 50 yard line on the East side, during a night game. 11) Favorite all time player? -Too many to list, so I'll keep this 5 and 5. Offense: Eric Crouch, Tommie Frazier, Cory Ross, Zac Taylor, Joel Mackovika. Defense: Grant Wistrom, Jason Peter, Ndamukong Suh, Jared Tomich, Terrell Farley. 12) WCO or Option? -I think if you sprinkled in the West Coast offense passing plays (under center and shotgun), basic running plays, AND could effectively execute the Option, you would have a very good offensive system. Think of it like 2008 offense + Option football. That would be sweet. 13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne? -Neither 14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker? -Herbie Husker 15) Favorite Husker play? -Again, almost too many to name. Stuntz to Crouch. Frost to Davison. Fraizer 75 yard run. Crouch 95 yard run. The Kick and the Pick, Colorado 2008. 16) Favorite game-day beverage? -Whatever I'm in the mood for. Soda, Alcohol, Water, just whatever really. 17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source) -Google search "Nebraska message boards". I got sick of the crap on the ESPN board, this one is much better, cleaner, and more topics, less garbage.
