From what I can see he was a low 3 star as a prospect and hasn’t played much the last few years. What is there to be excited about?

That was all from injury. It's a risk if he can get and stay healthy but his upside is all conference type WR.

One of the most annoying things that came from COVID was the normalization of the fist bump...

Better than touching elbows, I guess :dunno

Working in a kitchen we did elbow bumps way before covid.

I’ve never understood why the Minnesota comparison is so prevalent when discussing Neb’s modern day struggles. Acting like a program whose dominant era predated integration and any resemblance of the modern day game is somehow comparable to the what cfb has been for the last 40-50 years makes absolutely no sense to me.

Some food for thought. From 1962 to 2003, Neb didn’t have a losing season. One .500 season in there, but never a losing season. No program can say that, let alone any of the 7 other blue blood programs.

I also think the “Neb has been bad for 20 years” trope is largely overstated. Yes, we took a step back. But I ran the numbers in another thread a while back and from 2003-2016, Neb kept pace with most of our B1G peers for wins, losses, bowl games and top 25 finishes. The lion share of our “terrible” 20 year stretch is mostly indistinguishable from the likes of Iowa, Penn St and Michigan.

It’s obviously been historically bad since 2017. But Blue blood status doesn’t just go away because of a couple bad coaching hires and a bad 7 year stretch.

I feel like that is an easy cutoff line for me. You can find other reasons to move it up more maybe, but for sure no championships before integration should bear any relevance.

That stat is pretty crazy. Penix was a world beater this year, though.

I had thought that Jalen Milroe wasn't maybe up to snuff with some more recent Alabama QB's but then I looked up his passing stats for the year...he had a 65.8% completion percentage this year, along with 23 TD's and 6 INT's.

Kind of reinforces how you pretty much don't make it to the top these days without an elite QB. Good thing we have one coming in.

Wow thats crazy because I thought the same about Milroe and would not have guessed that about his stats. I do think that players like him and McCarthy, and Ewers are probably like the baseline you need to make it that far in cfb, but you need a good team around to win. They are definitely not elite but play well enough to move the ball when needed.

True, but it's gonna be tough to sway a kid from joining a team who just played in (and possibly won) the national championship.

The timing of it may not matter for this but I would be surprised if Harbaugh doesnt take the jump to the NFL this year. I think he has put feelers out every year trying to get back to the league. My guess would be Chargers scoop him up if their owner isnt too cheap.

Just saw some list about the top QB's and where they are going and Raiola is now #3.  Seems to be dropping....From choosing NU?

The different services seem to be split on where he is ranked for a while now. I have to imagine they are knocking him for mobility and maybe not enough short timing throws. Because otherwise I don't see how any QBs look better than him.

Saw another video refer to him as the next Adrian Peterson

Ha I almost came in and said that earlier after watching his video. He really has a similar looking stride and running style. Obviously not on that level but visually very similar.

I was questioning the 2 Sr qbs., we only have 1.  Our qb room was young, but now it's even younger.  But more talented.

Oh whoops I was talking about Purdy though I guess technically he will be a Junior even though next year will be his 5th year in college and will be 23.

  9. In the NFL players will sometimes ask for charity donations in exchange for giving a number to an incoming player. That seems like exactly something Coleman would be down for seeing as he likes to donate his money.
