Anyone have any suggestions for refinancing a car? I've never done anything like this before.

Depending what your income is and what kind of student loans you have (public or private), you may qualify for income based repayment. Look into it, it's a good deal if you qualify.

Unfortunately it's a private student loan that's killing me. My federal loans are completely under control.

Don't think you can refinance for that small amount or that length. You'd be better off grabbing a second job for a bit and paying the car off.
