FAP sounds like walking around in flip-flops

Yeah, the wiki isn't great. Long and short. Late 80s early 90s 3 major therapies were developed. 2 really took off, but 1 (acceptance and commitment therapy) took off before the data supported it. Originally FAP did a good job of staying back and letting data guide it whereas ACT didn't (Dialectical behavior therapy has always done a goodish job).

Someone wrote an article calling out ACT and saying FAP was doing good. Years later someone wrote an argument the other direction (FAP has tons of trainings but little data at this point). My dissertation was the first RCT.
