I’ve done it on older vehicles but anymore it seems you can hardly find them let alone get to them.  Hopefully you applied the proper torque. It makes a pretty special noise if you blow one of those bad boys out of the threads. 

@Comfortably Numb got out my torque wrench and everything. Did a few cautious laps around the apt complex everything seems to be firing in order and in good shape. Little nervous about my first highway ride, but I'm relatively good at these things. 

A plug blew out on my wife’s van a few years ago (not my doing, it just happened). I’d never heard such a gawdawful noise. Thought the whole engine was shelled or something.  Luckily the threads on both sides were fine and the plug was still on the plug wire. Just had to screw it back in.
