  1. yeah, that is so typical. how we don't not do what you expect us to do, even when we don't and then you still call us out on it. hilarious.

It is a long, old, boring pattern. Cynicism, criticism, and personal attacks when anyone disagrees. Yawn.

And yet I'm not banned, not warned, etc. Must not be breaking board rules. And your pattern of children's logic gets old, too. As exemplified by the downgrading of Oregon State's win over #1 USC simply to fit what you seem to think is a logical argument. lol

Wait, I thought you had more amusing things to do? Bottom line is THIS YEAR, fresno st has upheld their reputation of being a great, well coached, resilient road squad while Oregon State, THIS YEAR, has not.

I'm not quite sure losing by 15 to Cal puts them into the resiliant road squad this year column. If they hang with Boise State later on this year, I'll jump on the Fresno bandwagon.

In comparison to Oregon State, losing to Sacramento State...

  3. Fresno St. has had it's share of big losses. But by all means, continue to feel that Nebraska is automatically entitled to some huge amount of respect after playing bad for the larger part of two games. Michigan St. and Wisconsin haven't done that and they got ranked ahead of us in that list. Go figure.

Enjoy the thread, I've got better ways to amuse myself for now.

Then go ahead and amuse yourself by doing something else because you're getting annoying.

  4. Go look at the past 5 years or so if you don't believe me. The stats are available. The highlight, of course, is taking down #1 USC in 2008, but there have been plenty of other big wins or close games.

REALLY? Even if they do have a reputation of taking down big teams it will not be this year, not after losing to SACRAMENTO STATE. How are you missing that?

Didn't Michigan go on to win 10 games the year they lost to a team similar to Sacramento State? Virginia Tech went onto have a pretty decent last year after they lost to a team on par with Sacramento State.

Not by a long shot. Appalachian State was Division 1 FCS national Champions 3 years in a row...Sacramento State beat Oregon State then turned around and lost to Southern Utah. Completely different. I don't know what you're trying to prove or who you're trying to defend

  6. No they don't. More respect than, say, Oregon St. who also has a history of sticking it to better teams?

Michigan St. and Wisconsin won like they should, we did not. We are ranked in the top 10 and no matter what reputation Fresno St. has, we should have rolled them easily if we deserve that ranking. And we didn't. We've shown absolutely nothing to instill much faith in anyone at this point beyond Husker fans that only see through rose-tinted glasses. Wisconsin and Michigan St., on the other hand, have won convincingly as was expected of them.

Edit - Bottom line is that you clearly don't like criticisms against Nebraska, even when they're fair and valid. Fair enough, but don't expect to post things like that and expect all of us to sit here and give you a grin and a thumbs up.

Yeah, Oregon State really has a reputation of sticking it to better teams. They withheld that reputation by losing to Sacramento St. LOL

  7. Going into the Washington game; we just had a sloppy game against the Idaho Vandals winning only 38-17. Then we walloped Washington 56-21 followed by a lackluster performance against South Dakota St. Bottom line is (IMO), we are 2 and 0 and have the whole season ahead of us and not a team on our schedule that we do not have the capability to beat. Will we? Not necessarily but don't automatically assume because of our unimpressive first couple of games that we can't. Last year we were up on the number 1 team (this year, Oklahoma) 17-0 in the B12 championship and had more than enough talent to win...

I know, there have been a lot of changes but let the season unfold before you start assuming losses. Come on Husker fans, get your swagger back! We're Nebraska football!

  8. Don't take too much stock in this list. It will get sorted out as the year progresses. I think Wisconsin is getting completely over-hyped and that they will have a reality check when they play us. Again, look who they have played: UNLV who got beat worse by Washington State, who is consistently the worst team in the Pac 12, and Oregon State who lost to Sacramento State. Let's wait to give credit where credit is due because I don't think Wisconsin has even played anyone yet. I can say with certainty that a well coached, determined, road resilient Fresno State is far better than either team they have played yet.

  9. Honestly,

I don't think you guys had an answer for Chris Polk in either game last year. Your defensive line was soft in my opinion. Sure, you defended the pass very well against us, but this year we've added a massive tight end and an explosive Wide Receiver to our offense. OUr offensive line is much more talented than a year ago. If that offensive line from a year ago dominated the Husker defense, this one will part your defensive line wider than when Moses parted the Red Sea!

You still have Martinez, but I'll take my chances with Washington shutting him down than a team that has a scary passing attack.

My prediction, Washington in a rout, 36-10. (You get 10 in garbage time)

I doubt Washington wins in a rout. Washington just might win, but it will be close.

Washington just might win? Are you kidding me? Even if that is a strong possibility, which I don't think it is, why would you even say that? I'm pretty sure last year before our first meeting with them I read several similar posts.

What do you mean? If you think Washington doesn't have a solid shot at winning you must have missed Nebraska's first two games. Washington is MUCH better than Chattanooga and Fresno State and NU didn't look particularly good against either of those teams. Take off those rose colored glasses and watch Nebraska's offensive and defensive lines getting shoved around.

If I were setting the line I'd put it at about 5 in favor of Nebraska. I think Nebraska wins but I would definitely not be surprised if we lost.

Let's just see what the outcome of the game is...

NOT IN OUR HOUSE, or your house for that matter...

  12. If Wisconsin is #8 the way they are handling business, we are NOT #10.

Oh my gosh...if someone else says how good Wisconsin is I am going to puke. Who have they played? UNLV or Oregon St who lost to Sacramento St last week. Please, stop giving them so much props when they haven't played anyone yet. Thank you. As far as tonight, it was a trap game and we came out on top against a very determined, well coached team. Keep the faith, there still is not a game on our schedule that we can not win.

Keep living in fantasy land where Nebraska is better than Wisconsin.

We'll see who is living in fantasy land, bud. Also, I don't suggest you come on HUSKER board and talk like that. Save your snide remarks for your own damn board when you lose to us next week. Wisconsin hasn't had a test yet so I am far from living in fantasy land. Until they do, don't say anything.

  13. If Wisconsin is #8 the way they are handling business, we are NOT #10.

  14. It was Nebraska football. I think we also have to be realistic in terms of the team we are returning to the field, and we'll be using an offense that our players aren't yet used to. I don't think we will know what kind of team we have after week one. For me, I want to see us convert 3rd downs in tough situations, and I want to see us play from behind. It's silly to claim we are the most talented and experienced team heading into this season. Is #5 too high? Maybe, maybe not, but I don't think it's hard to see why most feel more comfortable with us sitting around the 10 spot.

It was Nebraska football?? It IS Nebraska football, and as I stated before I'm well aware of the questions that are surrounding this years squad. That doesn't mean that they can not and will not be answered though. To me, it doesn't make sense to take a pessimistic stance on our football team. Take some pride in the potential of our team. I understand realistic expectations but some people are putting the cart in front of the horse and assuming that a top 5 ranking is too high when they haven't seen anything yet. To me that's BS.

  15. Why is too high? We haven't even seen a single snap and you're going to claim it's too high? I am fully aware that there are questions about our offense etc. but perhaps those questions have been answered. Why don't we wait til Saturday to make claims that a #5 ranking is too high! Besides, why would you want to argue that Nebraska, our team, is ranked too high? That's just weird to me. My belief is that they can win them all and until they do otherwise i'm going to stand by that belief. That's nebraska football if you ask me.

  16. Trev is an absolute joke and would be the second coming of pederson. Lets just make sure that does not happen! I've seen what he has done to UNO and it is nothing short of tyranny. He has demoralized the entire campus and shut down entire programs because of personal vendettas. He is untrustworthy, unmoral and would digress the university immensely. He has a tenth of what it would take to grow and maintain the Husker tradition and name. Don't even mention him being a candidate because that would be devastating to the university!

  17. Chattanooga - Win

    Fresno State - Win

    Washington - Win

    Wyoming - Win

    Wisconsin - Win

    Ohio State - Win

    Minnesota - Win

    Mich. State - Win

    Northwestern - Win

    Penn State - Win

    Michigan - Win

    Iowa - Win

How bout this? I like to keep it optimistic. You never know...

  18. Just dreaming for a moment but how awesome would it be if we beat the next two ranked opponents by a lot and with some luck, fought our way to the #2 spot right behind Oklahoma before the b12c. Game of the century 3? I haven't lost hope in this season and I think we can win out.
