    1)  We lost BY FAR the most effective WR in Palmer, and most of the returning WR's are unproven

    2)  Washington has been injured, first it was a broken hand, then it was another injury after he came back to practice. Nobody knows how he is doing, or how much of Palmer's production he will be able to replace.

    3)  Billy Kemp IV is mainly a possession receiver.  That's great to have, but it's unlikely he will produce big plays.

    4)  Fleeks was supposed to be a positive, veteran influence, and he came in so overweight he couldn't practice.

    5)  ICG is an unknown, considering how quickly left the team last year

    6)  Many people (not me) thought Malachi Coleman would be able to contribute to the WR group this year, but it sounds like he is nowhere near seeing the field, and other true freshman receivers are ahead of him.

    7)  Having to count on walk-on receivers is fine for a game or two, but those guys are unlikely to be big-play threats and be difference makers on the field.

I am sure others have concerns of their own.

Gotchya.. thank you for the synopsis!

If you don’t think colleges on the coast/nice weather areas or near large cities don’t have an instant advantage, then keep living in a dream. The rest of us with functioning eyes and some sanity left after what Riley and Frost put us through will believe we can get the top QB in the nation when it happens.
There is a middle ground btw. Just because some don’t believe we can get Raiola this year doesn’t mean we can’t turn the program around in the next 2-3 years.

Uh what? Your comment is moot. Never once did I say that we are not at a disadvantage. Thanks for your insight tho.

Except he won 2 CCG games and finished top 10 every other year. They needed someone to get over the hurdle we still need to get out the starting block

Similar in that georgia fans felt like he was never going to win the "big" games...2-3 losses a year etc. I didn't say they were identical.

And yes, of course it is a very difficult challenge to get Nebraska football back to where it belongs...but for the love of God (not aimed at you) quit saying it can't be done.

They were still relevant. Kirby didn’t walk into a dumpster fire. Mark richt was 145-51 with 2 conference championships and 6 appearances.

No doubt about it...but they were never elite until recent. Mike Richt was very similar to Bo.

They still recruited at a high level. Won at a decent rate. Have a top 5 talent rich state. Nebraska has a bigger hill to climb then Georgia

Wait, Nebraska has recruiting challenges? WHO KNEW. Challenges are opportunities with the right staff. It is certainly a difficult/uphill climb. I am so freaking tired of the narrative that it can't be done tho. Cause that is some BS...especially with NIL opportunities. If UNL wants to compete at the highest tier then we have the money to do so.

Georgia is in the SEC, recruiting hot bed, won 18 more games than Nebraska during Richts non Elite years, and went to 2 more BCS bowl games. Why do people still act like Nebraska isn’t Great Value brand at this point?

but, but, but...whine, whine, whine. Change is a sales pitch away...you just need the right salesman.

What was Georgia's excuse before Kirby?

Nebraska doesnt get players like him. It is what it is.

    There's that whiney, defeatist attitude...

No reason we can't. This guy or the next. Georgia was never this elite until Kirby took over.

If Nebraska could gain his commitment soon then it could cement how far next year's class can be in terms of how good.  If he were to commit then I'd think it would have a downhill effect to where other high profile kids see that and we could gain their commitment as well.  We haven't really ever had a top 10 class in the recruiting era except for Bill Callahan's first class and that never panned out so since it didn't, I don't consider it as one.

It would definitely create a snowball effect. I think it would be hard not to sign a top 10 class next year IF we get a commitment from Dylan early..

Should move us up to 5th in the B1G and 25th in the nation in overall class including transfers. What a huge jump we have made in a week. I think we were 60th overall and 10th in the B1G.
