  1. All signs are pointing to Jackson being Nebraska's next commit.

I am curious as to how many WR's we are bringing in with this class. I can't imagine them going heavy in the portal but I know they want to bring in elite HS guys. Nonetheless, Jackson is a good player.

  2. I think Nebraska is going to kick their a$$ to be honest. The defense is going to match up well and our offense will be much better in handling the game and not turning the ball over. Nebraska has a better roster and ended with the better team last year.

Is he considered a hybrid te?  I ask bc I know he has good offers to play at some pretty big programs but I don't know too much about him.  Is he considered a top 10 te as well?

Yes to the first question. He is incredibly talented but at the moment he is built like a tall WR. He is not ready to in-line block at the D1 level and definitely not for the schools he's considering. Based on overall ability I can see him hovering around the top ten and even making it inside the list. He is trending that way. Chase in my opinion is far and away the best prospect in Nebraska this year and is cut from a similar cloth as Carter Nelson in terms of football ability.

From people I know close-ish to the situation, the regents have had 3-4 people they wanted to offer the President position to, Pillen felt those candidates were too liberal ("too woke" was the quote used) and mentioned funding would be more challenging if they went that route. They are now having difficulty agreeing on a qualified candidate conservative enough for Pillen to ensure funding doesn't become an issue. So, with no permanent President in place, behind the scenes above Trev has been, from the way it was described to me "a complete and utter ish-show with no end in sight".  Issues started before Trev was in place, but people above him shielded him from the chaos. That shield is gone and as of yesterday's conversations, has no replacements in sight. Trev has been unhappy for a long time with what has been going on from a university leadership standpoint and has wanted out for more than a year, not a lot of options on where he was willing to go, but he was going to take the first offer he could.  He had been actively looking for options since around Jan. 2023, and expressed his concerns, through appropriate channels on several occasions. He made sure everything he did publicly was positive. The only way he would have stayed is if the regents and governor agreed to a person that was going to be forward thinking, and that's not happening anytime soon. Position may be filled soon-ish, but not by a forward thinking candidate.

    This.

  5. T.J. has very nice footwork and keeps a solid base when he throws. He is very decisive and demonstrates great touch throughout his tape. My favorite play is when he gets forced out of the pocket and has to make a play on the run. He remains in control and resets his feet perfectly. He is doing this while playing in the Trinity League which is the best in the country. He would be a great get for Nebraska.

  6. My comp for Isaiah is a mix between Emeka Egbuka and Isaiah Williams from Illinois who will be drafted this year. Shifty and has a running back style in the open field. More quick than fast. Will be a nice number two target on the team whether at Y or at the Z.

  7. If TJ commits, he will be the cornerstone of this class. It will begin a flurry of guys hopping on board, especially the in-state guys who are playing hard to get right now.

Speculating here, but I think we may have told him he doesnt have a spot anymore which is a great sign for our WR core this class. In on some big fish!

    You're right.

His commitment was a little out of left field and once Raiola committed; that was the beginning of the end. I think they are going to focus on Mills, Simms, Hayes, and Carpenter. I expect a fifth guy who will be ranked higher than all those previously mentioned, but I am not sure who that is yet.

There’s been rumbling about him being gone after signing day. Haven’t heard anything about Martin.

So not sure if it means 1 new assistant or 2, but sounds like Satt won’t be coaching QBs.

Gosh, I hope so. He ran off their best RB and guys got worse. He also can't recruit.

  10. This program really struggles to piece a complimentary roster together. Rhule is going to have to hitch his strategy to the portal just a little bit every year. They need a dynamic running back and good pass first QB. Then two lineman who can start. Anything beyond that will be gravy.

I think if that happens it’s a whole different ballgame. I think almost no matter what the 2025 class seems to be going very well. Much better than the 2024.

In complete agreement here too. Sky is the limit in some cases if they start off hot.

While I don’t disagree one of the largest looming issues is you won’t play a bowl game here. I am hesitant to place lofty expectations but a bowl game in year one feels very key to early success/buy in for recruits/players/fans.

I completely agree. With this roster, the expectation should be a bowl game and the chance to win 7-8 games.

Everyone negative recruits something let’s be real here. I get what you mean. But you also can preach that this is a new staff that will be here for a long time with contracts to prove it.

Yes but that one is hard to overcome because it is true.
