So if we add Washington we be at 88. So I could see and I hate to say this but Logan Smothers, Markese Stepp and maybe Rahmir Johnson leaving during fall camp. I say those 2 running backs bc Stepp has been hurt and his buried on the depth chart and Rahmir is a situational running back. If Logan doesn't fix his mechanic's in throwing a football I see him getting passed up.
Logan and especially Rahmir aren't going anywhere. As it currently stands, Rahmir is a top 5 player on this team.

Hell yeah.

DB on a few occasions has mentioned recently that Victor is looking like a guy who is going to struggle to play here. I think it is worth noting.

Watch NYG line him up in the backfield haha. In all seriousness, there were many factors as to why it didn’t work out for him here and it had a lot to do with their trust in Adrian hitting him in stride, or the hits he was going to take going up the middle. His short arms scared our staff and interceptions became a theme in practice. Tie that in with Lubick being a very detached WR coach, and you have a bad recipe. Had he come in now, it would be completely different.

We were told a couple days ago that Nebraska sucks at NIL.
haha I would push it hard the other way. Nebraska from an organizational standpoint is top 3. It’s as if they have been doing this for years…- 1

This was alluded to earlier in the thread, but from a Texas insider on 247:
I hate those twitter accounts. Those idiots ruin it for a lot of people and piss a lot of people off, including coaches and players. It's so weird.

Just win some damn games and the money which is already real, will be insane. Nebraska will be able to outbid a ton of teams and with some ace recruiters on staff, they will make up a ton of ground and fast.

If this is indeed true I will be very very happy and my fears from the last few days will be subsided for now. The next step for us in NIL will be to translate it to the HS ranks but this seems to be an all hands on def k situation and I love it
I think Nebraska is going to shore up its inability to attract elite D-lineman and Rush ends by just buying them openly. If a few pan out, then it will open up the HS ranks.

Apparently Nebraska's guaranteed offer is much larger than Texas. Also, the NIL Package at UT is atrocious for players and many young D-lineman entered the portal because of it.

Malachi is going to be one of a handful of dudes that will be considered for a major recruiting bump, and possibly land him as a 5 star or very close. Many believe his ceiling is as high as anyones in this entire class.

Uh.... This looks potentially really hopeful with the Mathis situation...
Maybe the intent is to be subliminal but I’m fairly sure that’s Brody belt.

With how young the defensive line is hearing that they already need to trim fat so they can get guys from the portal is concerning. Makes you wonder why some of those guys were recruited in the first place. Thanks for posting.
Coach T couldn't recruit the connections he had to Nebraska. My father works with his cousin(who coach T is very close to), and he told us that the kids he was after just couldn't pull the trigger to living in Nebraska. Tuioti didn't have connections outside of CA and the islands. From there, Nebraska was left reaching and having to sign less than intended, or had other coaches pull weight on that front.
The players loved him though, and he could coach. The D-lineman like him much more than Dawson.

Hardy was the scout team POY last year? Tyreke hasnt got his chance yet playing behind so many older guys last year. And the last 3 O Linemen you listed.... Not sure if you understand football much but you need a second string OL
No, I don't understand football at all.

You won’t see me saying no to a lot of these. They need Nash. Piper probably too. Ezra Miller is a walk-on so that doesn’t really matter.
they absolutely need nash but that strength hasn’t done anything for his football abilities. The dude plays with cement blocks for cleats.- 2

Miller is at least not on scholarship right? I know he came here as a walk-on, and I don't remember an announcement about him earning one.
Curious you listed Malcolm as well - is that based on what you've seen or heard so far here, or still from evaluating him as a recruit? I know he was considered a reach at the time.
I was told by someone who goes to practice. Some guys are just not progressing or have such bad habits that they cannot coach them out of. This team is in a weird situation. There are things to be optimistic about and then aspects where it is obvious that Nebraska sorely lacks. The middle LB's have been exposed a little bit and appear to have maxed out. Ty Robinson is too heavy, and they might slide him at Nose. Myles Farmer has maxed out. Braxton Clark is doing everything to not take the opposite CB spot despite him being the guy the staff wants out there for this year. Omar Manning isn't event top 3 at WR. The young TE's are actually good. Size is the issue. The RBs are good. Grimes kicked it into gear but is still behind. Marquis Black flashes but is inconsistent. Mossai isn't very strong. Haussman is better than Kpai. Alante is good and should play a lot. Palmer is the best WR. Weaver and Buckley aren't ready. Kolarevic doesn't have a position. Javin Wright same thing. O-line needs guys back to evaluate, but they have been a somewhat pleasant surprise, attitude wise.

They're contemplating putting Ty at Nose full time. That should tell you enough.

Bro, Nash will likely be starting/rotating. Piper, Banks, and Miller are all on the 2 deep right now.
Hear me out, Nash isn't a good football player. Banks never developed into anything. Piper is shell shocked, and miller isn't good.

Hardy, Neville, Malcolm, Lynn, Wilderman, Conn, Nash, Tyreke, Mauga Clements, Stepp, Piper, Ezra Miller, and Banks need to go.

I have said since day 1 that Hutmacher should be an OG - not DT.....people on here seemed to disagree on that.
I know a guy. He said he sucks at Nose. Even went as far as to say that he shouldn't have a schollie on that side. Also said that there are 20 other guys who need to go.

Zavier Betts is a gift to UNL and Scott, and I believe that will come to fruition in 2022. The same would go for Malachi if he stays home. He's an obvious pro prospect with Mickey coaching him. If he goes to Michigan, he will still be really good and is a guy you cannot lose.
-
I imagine Dylan is up for a ratings bump in the near future. Incredibly fluid runner with very good acceleration and body control. He looks like such a natural out there. There is something in the water in Kansas.
-
I forget how good of a player Asa is. I hope we get him. He could be really good on the outside and inside. Perfect LB body and frame.
What Players Leave After The Season?

If we are talking in terms of QB, the data suggests that the back up is guaranteed to start a few games. Casey is also a 1 year addition because if he has the year he wants, he is bolting for the pros. Chubba has better tools and build than Logan but experience trumps all. And he has more of it with this collection of guys and he brings a speed component that gives defenses fits.
Grant and Yant are not guarantees for anything but being in the rotation. Nebraska needs RBs who can flex and catch the ball. Against our two best opponents, Rahmir was one of the best players on the field. Had he not gotten injured, his numbers would have been better, and it is possible that Nebraska even wins an extra game or two based on his output (debatable I am sure). Regardless of that, he has room to improve and transitioning to a new offense, you need experience. He is that and then some for this team. He isn't traditional like an Allen or Ervin, but he is proven unlike those two. I imagine you will see 5-6 catches for Rahmir a game, and with his speed, he is going to house a ton.
I see what you're saying and obviously we are at a numbers crunch. However, those are two guys we are going to have to rely heavily on whether behind the scenes or on the field.
