“The $7500 credit might exist on paper, but no vehicles will qualify for this purchase incentive over the next few years,” John Bozzella, president and CEO of the alliance, said in a blog post. “That’s going to be a major setback to our collective target of 40-50 percent electric vehicle sales by 2030.”

Auto manufacturers better get moving on their battery plants. It would be great if they figured out a more sustainable battery technology that can be easily recycled.

You mean to tell me  "TWO Corinthians " isn't a Christian?  Knock me over with a feather :o:sarcasm   By their fruits you'll know them.

Of course I hear people say "We didn't elect a National Pastor".  Character doesn't matter.  Same People 20 years before: "Clinton is an immoral leader".  Character matters.

Character always matters in my book as well as competency.  Trump lacked both.

I understand this is an old reference to Trump. I'm not going to comment on people's faith and say it is real or not, but depending on your background or where you are from, Two Corinthians might be a common way of referencing 2 Corinthians. I am not going to get mad about how someone might reference scripture. However, you are right, you can tell by their fruits (even though the world might not value the fruit).

    He most certainly did.

Ryan Day could very well build a similar powerhouse that can be sustained.  History says tho that typically you don't when you follow a generational coach which urban easily falls in that bucket

Tressel (Fickel) -> Urban -> Day

That looks like a nice succession to me. OSU has really been lucky when it comes to coaching hires.

However, I am not one that thinks OSU will win the NC every year. Alabama really ruined what people's expectations are for a program. I am not going to go nuts if OSU loses 2 games in a year.

Day isn't Urban or Saban and that is alright to me.

Definitely. Anyone whose actions or words promotes the kind of assault on congress that we witnessed should be banned.

If that's not ban-worthy, what is?

Just congress? I am ok with a ban on anyone promoting violence.

Lots of questions for Musk about where the line is, then. The bloated cheeto instigated his useful idiots to attack a sitting session of Congress. A woman was killed and others suffered medical events that led to their death, all fomented by the cheeto. That's not a line in the sand for Musk?

    What is, then?

A secondary point is, does TFG come crawling back thanks to Musk's charity? Can his ego allow that? I haven't seen anyone really talking about that. TFG himself said he wouldn't come back to Twitter if the ban was lifted, but I don't know if that's true.

Do you believe that all accounts that promote violence should be banned? I am ok with that as long as it is applied to everyone...including leaders from other political parties and countries.

Isn't it funny we have to throw a disclaimer like this so we don't bite one another heads off?  I miss the simpler times of a message board that didn't entail such aggressiveness at all times lol

I haven't spent the time to dig into stats but there just doesn't seem to be the level of invincibility some of those urban squads had.  Perhaps its a bit of recency bias but I was never really impressed with that michigan team last year and the way they beat ohio state I just couldn't envision it going down that way if Urban was still in charge.  Will be interesting to see if Day can continue to compete at this level now that its all his players... Offensively he seems to be right in line, I'm curious tho if he has the cache to go anywhere in the country to get that stud pass rusher that urban always seemed to net.

Don't get me wrong, Day def has the buckeyes as title contenders until proven otherwise... but outside of Saban, I feel like things can change rather quickly for the teams up top and outside of him urban was #2 in consistency and longevity (perhaps 2a along with Dabo but I'd still slot urban slightly above Dabo).

The game has changed on and off the field. I don't know what kind of success Urban would have at this point. Urban also laid a few eggs in games where OSU had no business losing.

As for pass rush and Day, it is too early to know, but there are two sophomores that may break out this year. JT Tuimoloau and Jack Sawyer are two 5 stars from the 2022 class and both are really athletic and talented. Guys like the Bosas and Young don't come around often.

  7. With the way things are now, I can't really get excited about a 2024 recruit. Too much can happen between now and when he would actually see the field in Columbus.

I'm old enough to remember the last time the #1 overall recruit/QB in a class committed to OSU. It almost feels like it was yesterday.

funny how people agree to trust the weather channel given the jokes about keeping that job even when they are wrong half the time.

Yeah, one is forecasting and working with probabilities while the other is just reporting about what already happened. I think those predicting the weather might actually be better at their jobs than those working at most news outlets.

This is current US fuel prices while Joe Biden is in office.  If you look at the graft, you will see the US gas prices have never been this high, except for the days when B.Obama was in office (another democratic pres).  As if no one knew it was coming again, under Joe Biden :laughpound

This guy has run a poll on Twitter the last several years.  Not exactly scientific but here's what his polls show.  The same teams have been at the top for some time although the percentages have changed to some extent.

I suspect this was about more than the timeout for Howard. He was hot earlier in the game about a number of things including a Brad Davison cheap shot on Dickenson during a screen. Elbow to the groin I think. Gotta protect your nuts around Davison. The guy has a fettish.

I think Indiana tried to one up Wisconsin with the nut shots.

  12. I don't know if he should be fired but I hope Michigan fans stop it with their arrogant Michigan Man takes. Both their high-profile coaches have shown some questionable actions.

  13. The mental gymnastics people are having over "claiming" Burrow as their own is amazing.

    He is a Bengal

    He is a LSU Tiger

    He is a Buckeye

He is an Ohio high school football legend (6TDs in a championship game loss...might be the last time he lost a must win game).

He and his family have been around some great football programs (Nebraska, NDSU, OSU, LSU).

To all the Michigan fans talking about how OSU wasted Burrow and didn't want him...Michigan developed the GOAT Tom Brady into a 6th round draft pick and had him split reps with Drew Henson.

At some point in this thread we discussed the potential of hospitals turning non vaccinated away, and also we talked a bit about criteria for organ transplants etc.  Found this article from today interesting, and it answers a lot of questions we talked about.

I will add, I spend a lot of time at BW and am familiar with their transplant program, and its one of the top tier programs in the US.  They turn a TON of fairly good potential patients away as they're very focused on outcomes data.  Someone who gets transplanted at Cleveland Clinic or Emory often is not viable at BW, so this decision aligns to their philosophy.  Will be interesting to see if any other institutions have similar policies.

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jan/25/heart-transplant-patient-refusing-covid-19-vaccine

Also yesterday there was an article about a covid patient who was brain dead and on a vent, and the hospital wanted to remove it (in MN I think) and the family was fighting it, trying to transfer the patient to another institution - patient died yesterday, but it was a similarly interesting medical ethics situation.  Should that machinery be allocated to someone who had chosen to not get vaccinated, who is showing no signs of brain activity (and has little to no chance of survival ) and was taking a machine away from another needy patient.

I find it hard to believe that someone is willing to donate or accept a donation but is unwilling to get a COVID vaccine, but here we are. I have gone through the donor process and have been poked and prodded many times over. I can't imagine someone getting a kidney or heart and not getting the vaccine since their immune system is going to take a huge hit from the rejection drugs. Trust me, it is hard to give a organ and not care about the outcome of the recipient. And you are right, the top donor centers in the country care about the outcomes and the surgeons are pissed (might not be a strong enough word) when the recipients aren't careful, protect themselves as much as possible, and take care of themselves.
