  1. We'd do well wherever we went. It might take a little adjusting, but NU football will always end up doing well. It has to, believe me, for the U to survive. Those in power at the U know this very well. And while the move to the Big 10 will benefit the U as a whole, football must (and will) continue to do well for the U to survive as is in Nebraska.

Are you talking about Miami or UNL? I have not been around here that much so I don't know if this is common but I have never heard anyone in Nebraksa call UNL "the U".

  2. As Knapplc and I talked about several weeks ago, I don't think a playoff is possible until we dissolve the current college football structure. The simple problem is we have too many teams. I don't believe crowning a 'national champion' is a worthwhile statement when you have 119 teams competing in one division. It's time to form superconferences, institute a playoff, and anyone not involved in them is SOL. Time to leave the BCS Busters behind, time to leave the BCS behind, and all the filth it's created.

You do know that other Divisions have more than 119 teams and can still decide the national championship on the field, right? If all this is about a playoff or crowning a true national championship, we would have seen it a long time ago. However, it is about money.

  3. I think a lot of it depends on where the coaches go or what happens in the Big 10 coaching wise. The only team from the Big 10 that has a chance against the SEC schools in the near future is Ohio State. Tressel figured out he needed a change in philosophy offensively to succeed.

What philosophy did he change on the offensive side of the ball?

  4. Ok so im a poor bastard i dont have anything but basic cable. So i was checking out the big 10 network and it streams all its games online. And you can buy them for 3.00 bucks a pop. So that means that instead of just listening to games because there not on tv or paying for stupid bad ppv. You can watch them stream online for 3 bucks. Not bad, this is going to be a great thing.

What type of basic cable are you talking about?

The Big 10 Network will try and have the channel on the basic lineup in the Big 10 region. See the Time Warner Cable holdout in Ohio and other states.

  5. ...then what was your point? Don't pretend you weren't implying that we're lucky we don't have to face TP. We've seen plenty of QB's like Pryor, whether it be recent or a ways in the past. My reading comprehension is fine and my BS detector works wonderfully!

We even have a similar QB on our team in Cody Green. He's another "if he puts it together" type of player who hasn't gotten the chance TP has. His only chance was to get thrown into the fire mid season with a very banged up offense. The jury is out on Cody Green.

Talking to some Husker fans is like talking to some fellow Buckeye fans. Look at it this way, I don't see Nebraska facing Ohio State with TP on the field unless it is in a bowl game. If the Nebraska does join the Big 10, it isn't like they will dump next year's schedule (TP's jr. season). My guess, it would be TP's senior season when Nebraska would start to play a Big 10 schedule. With that in mind, you have a possible 16 teams and not everyone would play each other. SO THE CHANCES ARE FREAKIN SLIM HE WOULD PLAY NEBRASKA.

I am sorry if you feel that every non Husker fan is trying to take a shot at your team. I am not nor do I care too. Half my family lives Nebraska and are Husker fans. I enjoy talking football with them about the Huskers and Buckeyes.

  6. LOL!!!! I'm trying to show some respect and there ya go, saying we haven't seen a QB like TP, even though we've played many dual-threat QB's. Have we gotten torched or beat by some of them? Yep. Did Bo adjust and learn and work on better schemes and start getting his athletes vs. Callahan's in the mix? Yep. Is TP anything special? The jury's still out. Not gonna judge. He could be. He has the tools.

The reason why TTech hasn't won any titles is because they didn't have the D to go with it. Give me a break...a passing attack can win the title like any other attack. It takes a D and special teams, too. Does it pay to be multiple? You bet! I'm not debating that.

I think you can win with any type of attack as long as you can play D and control the clock when you need to. Let's not be silly.

Please work on your reading comprehension....

I said, "Pryor isn't like most QB's". I never said you have NOT seen a QB like him before.

Also, it is hard to control the clock when you are throwing the ball that much. Yes a great D and special teams are needed but a balanced offense usually helps a lot.

  7. I don't think anyone in the Big 10 has a passing attack like TTech has/had. I think we've seen QB's like tOSU et al have. I think Bo can scheme against power running....lol and we've got some bigger 'backers if need be.

Let's do this! It will be fun!

DO you know why you won't find anyone in the Big 10 (or in most conferences) with a passing attack like TT? It may win you a lot of games but it doesn't win you championships.

Pryor isn't like most QB's. If he plays like he did in the Rose Bowl, he is a very hard QB to stop. He won't kill you with the pass but his all around game can/should be something special. Saying that, there is a good chance you won't see him vs NEB so it really doesn't matter. Nebraska's style of play should work well in the Big 10. I would like to think that Bo understands the conference.

  8. Jaws, nobody is saying that big10 teams do not have their fair share of speedy players. What we are commenting on is their schemes are more power based than speed based. You could argue that Nebraska was very much like a big10 team prior to 1993.

I understand schemes....however, when "team speed" is brought up (at least in the media)it is about raw speed not schemes. Trust me, not much has changed at OSU on the defensive side of the ball since Tressel took over at OSU. After saying that, I think that the end of last year Nebraska would have finished at the top half of the B10. No clue about this year because of the turnover in some key positions in the B10. I just hope that all this talk happens because I love the thought of having Nebraska in the B10. Just remember it took a B10/OSU guy to turn around your program ;)

  9. "Team speed" is a huge joke anymore. I don't see how a guy that is recruited by FLA or LSU somehow becomes slower when they go to a school in the Big 10 or anywhere North of the SEC (thanks media). Somehow OSU went from being big and slow to a fast defensive team in the Rose Bowl. Also don't lump that Texas game into the team speed category. A safety playing out of position lost the game for the Buckeyes. Left that guy wide open and it made for an easy pass from Colt. FLA and LSU were overall better teams when they play OSU in the NC games. OSU had no business playing in the NC vs LSU.

  10. I am an Ohio State fan and I can understand why people would judge OSU fans the way they do. I remember the 2006 Michigan vs OSU game in Columbus and the problems in and around the stadium. There was a point where I had to tell some drunk guys behind me to shut up because of the stuff they were yelling at passing Michigan fans. I can understand some good ribbing but not some of the stuff that was said. Saying that, I have ran into fans from teams all over the country and ALL TEAMS have these problems. If you go to any other sporting event at OSU, (i.e. basketball) you wouldn't have these problems.

I hope Nebraska does end up in the Big 10 but I hope that Bo stays out of Northeast Ohio while recruiting. :) I think it would be great to take in a Nebraksa/OSU game at the Shoe.
