I can't speak to some of the facilities that the public doesn't have access too, but that football stadium is a piece of s#!t (to be direct). There are high school set-ups better than that place. Definitely not in the realm of Memorial Stadium. Hell, even Allen Fieldhouse is a s#!t hole, even if it is one of my favorite places I've ever watched a basketball game:lol:. But that had more to do with the Kansas basketball lore. Now, the campus around all of it? Absolutely beautiful....

Yea it is a complete wreck! But I thought I heard somewhere that KU is getting ready to dump a bunch of money into it and other football facilities, and they are going to do a massive upgrade

Surprised it took so long.  His twitter had a ton of ksux tweets and he's right in their back yard.  I am thinking that's where this dude is going to end up.

I think a lot of this is probably due to former teammate Alex Barnes who is the RB for KSU who just declared for the draft. I think you would be right if Snyder was still there but with the change in the regime I think that gives us a good chance

  3. I know the head coach from Pittsburg High and they have produced some legit D1 kids the last few years in the Barnes rb  at K-State and Trevor Kent who is now at northwestern. Coach Nickelson has said Dylan White is a legit D1 athlete and whoever passes on him will regret it. Much like people have on Barnes who will most likely be drafted this year

It should be a good test of conference reputations.  If Les starts putting up big offensive numbers vs Big12 defenses then I'll say they're as bad as reported.  And Visa versa for the SECw.

I think that only applies if Miles refuses to go to a spread uptempo offense to match the rest of the conference. I dont think he will change, but who knows

I am sooo tempted to seek them out...I'm guessing since I've never heard of them, they're either Rap/HH, Pop, or Country...I feel like I'd let my Teenager down if I actually snuck one by him and liked them...He's tried so hard to protect me from the crap some of his friends like...I don't trust you guys.

Childers is kind of a bluegrass country, here are a couple of his more popular songs

Back in the 90s, it made sense that K-St fans didn't know anything about football or how to handle any kind of success, since they had been historically terrible. But after a whole generation of being somewhat decent, K-St fans are still clueless. Too bad.

It's because they learned from a bunch of clueless fans to be clueless d-bags

Why on earth would they be upset at this? Once I saw who they were hiring I thought it was a great hire.

Edit: I wandered on over to their forum and they thought they might get Brent Venables . He was a GA at KSU and coached LB for 3 years. Or Jim Leavitt who is Oregon's OC and coached at KSU for 6 years. I suppose it's a little like Nebraska fans talking about getting Kevin Steele every time we need a DC because he coached here 6 years, but that's for DC, not head coach.

    Example posts:

"Champion of the little league division. Dude has no recruiting ties to Texas. Total disaster hire. It will be proven out. You thought Prince was bad. Jesus."

"The whole process was a clown show and ended with a comically bad hire for a ridiculous amount of money and your guy is not even being on full time immediately. If you truly believe this is a good hire, you are 100% part of the problem. KState is a better program than hiring an FCS coach with essentially 0 FBS experience and no recruiting ties. If you think KState is not above that, then I can’t begin to understand you."

"We just hired a guy with almost no P5 experience, who doesn’t recruit our main recruiting grounds, and has never recruited P5 level talent. He might be a great coach but if he can’t recruit it won’t matter."

What recruiting are they talking about? They were 72nd, 61st, and 65th the last 3 years. I looked at a few other years and they are consistently ranked in the 70s. That's worse than some G5 teams. Just having a new young(er) coach should help keep their recruiting around the same level as Snyder had.

Jim Leavitt was a real possibility as he has it in his contract everywhere he goes that there will be no penalty if he leaves to be the HC at KSU. But when you ask what are they talking about, try living in the state surrounded by K-State fans, especially those under 35. They dont remember when KSU sucked before Snyder, and god forbid you say something bad about him. They are delusional and honestly believe KSU is a top tier program. I have said for years that Bill Snyder is the CFB equivalent of Marty Schottenhiemer, a great coach who played it way to conservative in big games, and that KSU is destined for mediocrity because they'll never find another Bill Snyder who will be able to consistently win at a high level like he did in the late 90's.

Oh and they will totally ignore Snyder's poor recruiting because of his reputation to develop the kids he brought in. In all honesty I hope they suck forever, they are terrible fans and I have never been treated so poorly when I went there a few years back and watched T-Mart run all over them, they were down right despicable.

  8. I think a solid B. He did a great job of changing the culture, and idk if we realize how big of a job that has been. And lets not forget he could easily have an A, 5 of the games we lost were by by 5 or less points. We win those games, we finished ranked and probably start next year in the top 15. This guy and his staff have done a hell of a job, and we will see the benefits of it soon

Is his fighting any injuries or just realized that he is low on the depth chart? I hate to see kids leave. While it is nice to open up a scholarship, I think there is value to having people on the team that work hard even though they know they will rarely if ever play.

I understand what your saying, but I think if a kid knows they won't play or will rarely if ever, then the level of competition and intensity in practice goes down and that is detrimental to the teams success. Kids have to believe that if they work hard, it will set them up for a real shot at playing time, or they will quit working as hard.

  10. I was pheasant hunting in North Central KS this weekend and an alum from KU told me that he was at an event and spoke with AD Long. According to this guy when he asked Long who they were looking at to be the next HC, Long looked him dead in the eye and said Les Miles will be the next HC at KU. Now this guy is a bit of a blow hard but if there is any truth to it then I would honestly say it is probably the best "big name/splash" hire that KU is capable of getting. BUT KU is a dumpster fire that I'm not sure anyone is going to be able to put out

Does it really matter? It’s always been a dumpster fire.

IF the rumors about KU eventually coming to the BIG are true, then I think it does matter because we'd probably play on a yearly basis and it would be nice for them to be competitive.
