Farniok and Jaimes were told by scouts that they needed to drop some bad weight and increase their core strength and flexibility.

I'm not surprised. Both players seemed lackadaisical on the field, so not surprising their bodies/body fat reflected the same as a result of their work in the weight room. Bad weight room/conditioning habits are tough to break when you are a clear cut starter based on talent and no one to push you. If we continue to see such input from scouts going forward I'd be more concerned about S&C and the S&C staff - but I'm not there yet.

I think this season is going to allow us to reap rewards next season. With the amount of games we are playing, it's allowing a lot of play time for some games who may not have seen the field for a little bit

I agree. We are definitely seeing more relief pitchers used. Bolt seems to not want to stretch guys beyond 1 inning in relief (except for Schreiber) early in the season.

This was obviously where this was headed and wish him nothing but the best wherever he lands. Good kid.

Yup. No surprise Ouedraogo  is leaving. I expect Stevenson will likely be next.

  4. Hallmark will be in CF, Anderson at 3B, Schwellenbach at SS, and Matthews at 2B. Apparently a battle at 1B but I'd expect Banjoff to win that. Chick will DH and Everitt at C but I'd expect Roskum will get a far amount of games as well at C and DH. I'd also expect Acker and Mojo to round out the OF corner spots.

Starting rotation looking like Povich, Hroch, Shanaman and Bunz as game 4 starter.

I think Teddy Allen will return. I've not been overly impressed with Lat Mayan. Seems a step slow on Defense. I'd have the starting 5 as Banton, McGowens, McGowens, Allen, Walker. Mayan, Stevenson, Andre, and Kominga coming off the bench as key reserves.

Wow - I could not have been more wrong.

Cool thanks, I missed that part.  I just thought the article said she was "from Lincoln".

  8. Without having any knowledge, it looks like weight lifting and conditioning groups. I'm sure there will be competitions each week between the different "teams". Likely points given for gains in the weight room, lifting challenges, conditioning challenges and etc.

  9. QB has to be a priority now in the transfer portal for the 1 (or possibly 2 spots if we miss on Dickerson) spots left. Austin Kendall and James Blackman are two names that stick out to me that are in the portal but not sure if immediate playing time is something they are seeking in a fit.

JUCO may be the only option to try and provide depth.

I think it has gotten better under Frost.  Many thought Pelini was a terrible recruiter and were falling all over themselves about Riley's recruiting.  That proved to be completely backwards.

    I'd agree with that.

I didn't say people complained less.  But there weren't any players that suddenly got to play and looked great just because we were running a "more simple" defense.

And it is pretty clear that Pelini recruited noticeably than Riley, despite people consistently hyping Riley and disparaging Pelini.  Admittedly Pelini's results fell off as he was expecting to be fired and constantly fighting the administration.

Not done yet but here's where we stand right now.  Star average for 20 should be slightly higher as they have Gifford on the list when he really shouldn't be.

I think your post supports my point in that recruiting has improved with Frost over Pelini. In 7 years of Pelini recruiting he had a rating over .88 once. In just three (soon to be four) years Frost has done that twice. You stated its been substantially worse but the evidence does not support that.

Not anywhere close to at the level of leaving that happened under Riley.  Just look at the 2017 class alone.

You are missing the point of the post. It has nothing to do with player retention - which I agree with you was bad under Riley. Perhaps go back and read the post I was responding to so you have more context concerning my post.

Those ratings don't tell the whole story when it comes to Riley recruiting.

Sure... players left (but that happened under Pelini as well). The purpose of the post and figures was to evidence recruiting didn't significantly dip after Pelini as stated; instead, recruiting (not necessarily player retention) has gotten better.
