Does a walkon from Northern Colorado and a backup from OK State really make you think we got some big ten ready plug in players? That's the point.

Not that I really expected us to be in on any guys like that, but bringing in all skill guys with the same line leaves more questions than answers.

I don’t believe he was a walk on and I think he was in trouble for having a weapon?  The Oklahoma state guy is a plug n play player. Oklahoma state isn’t a bad program

They have tried. Haven’t gotten a ton of traction because any half decent OL is getting a better offer. Everyone wants better day 1 ready OL.

same thing with DL. We wanted some guys but missed out on everyone good.

We do have a few coming in and I don’t think the cabinets are bare. Just needs a feisty Hawaiian attitude

I agree with the bolded.  However, that's not going to be set in stone.  If there isn't measurable improvement at some level in the win column, it becomes pretty hard to keep him for 2023.  He doesn't need to win a championship this year.  But, there needs to be evidence that we are headed in that direction.

It’s a moving target.  I think he has bought some grace but not a pardon. It’s gotta be improvement but that bars so low that it’s hard to explain. I think the way they look on the field changes that bar as well.

  4. I am willing to put a lot of money on the opposite. How do you convince Chubba to come here over Oklahoma for a one and done situation.  The conversation was had and there was assurances that he will have more time…. That’s my thoughts.

issue with NU is that we have talented youth, we're sending freshman to redshirt sophomores up against 6th year seniors!   I'm thinking we need to get some juniors/Seniors that have lots of game experience to work the line.  the freshman to sophomores will be really good in 2-3 years when they are seniors.  Unfortunately, these coaches may not be around to see that...

I think that the staff will stick around.  I think, barring an epic meltdown, he’s bought himself a few more years with these hires.

And, because our O line still was the worst group on the team, we have a new O line coach.

I love the oline coach hire. The fact he’s an unproven commodity, I think that causes an uneasiness.  They aren’t worried about qb or wr but freaking out about ol.

It sort of does seem different.  I wonder if before the changes maybe the staff just wasn't all that prepared in how to recruit, I feel like they were maybe more "take your time, go on other visits and be sure" recruiters.

Oh snap!  That sounds like some koolaid

5 is extreme but we had the two worst tackles in the big ten. And our best player is leaving. New coach, scheme, etc but he is correct about needing massive improvement up front.

I mean are we just going to ignore the two that were already brought in?   Do they not matter?
