  1. He ran on a platform of fiscal responsibility and he campaigned against the AHCA, which he should, because it is hot garbage. He also talked in the debate making the minimum wage a "living" wage, to which Handel replied she did not support a "livable" wage.

You can read more about his platform here. He focused on the economy and healthcare.

The mudslinging coming from the other side was rather disgusting:

Nonetheless, Handel’s television ads have tried to connect him to tie-dyed San Francisco liberals, Nancy Pelosi, Al Jazeera and Osama bin Laden, and even, in an ad from the conservative group Principled PAC—which Handel has since disavowed—“the unhinged leftists cheering last week’s shooting” at the Republican congressional baseball practice. (“I’ll tell you what: I think the shooting is going to win this election for us,” Brad Carver, the head of the G.O.P. in the neighboring Eleventh District, said on Saturday, after a Handel rally in Chamblee, Georgia.)

But that's politics. I don't think this is a death knell for the Democratic Party. But I would've preferred a shot across the bow on the GOP as a message since this election was so focused on healthcare and what they're doing with that is awful.

This certainly isn't going to make them think twice about it. They're still not facing consequences for how they're governing or Trump in general. Quite the opposite... I think this would put some wind in their sails as McConnell tries to advance their healthcare bill.

mudslinging and fear mongering wins elections. platforms are boring and lose elections. the republicans understand this and the democrats are still learning.

  2. How does a man with a rifle & a scope shoot 50-60 rounds at lightly-clad targets within 50-150 feet of him and not kill anyone? Only five were shot and all are expected to be OK, including the shooter.

    That's an amazing coincidence.

it's 1 thing to be accurate on the shooting range....it's another thing to be accurate when someone is shooting back at you.

  3.

Well, would their Congressmen be Democrats or Republicans? That will help decide this.

Neither? Their governor and delegate to congress are both members of the New Progressive Party.

That sounds like something Republicans would like less than Democrats.

it's amazing that Trump hasn't declared war on puerto rico yet based on the new progressive party

How is it a "waste of money" when America wasn't required to spend a single dime

"As the New York Times reported Thursday, the U.S. has promised to supply up to $3 billion in aid for developing nations by 2020 to help them meet their emissions-cutting goals."

$3 billion over 4 years is a tiny fraction of the US budget, so hardly saving a "fortune". (That would be $750 million/yr as compared to a $3.8 trillion/year budget or 0.02%) More importantly, Trump could have changed that amount without withdrawing from the Paris Agreement. And instead of being able to move on to other things and focusing on them, the Trump admin is going to be dealing with the fallout of this for weeks or months. It's just stupid politically.

That's 3 Billion that we save, amount compared to actual US wealth is irrelevant. Saving US money is saving money. The fallout for what, making a smart political move? The biggest problem is the left spinning it to make him look like a monster, something they have gotten quite efficient at.

ahh...remember the good old times when it was the right spinning clinton and obama into the monsters? they were so efficient at it that they haven't stopped yet. every time trump wants to spin away from trouble he mentions the old boogie monsters of obama or clinton.

  5. All this this high level talk is really cheap from all sides. My questions to everyone that is so outraged. How have you changed your habits within the last few years to reduce energy use and waste? Very few people in the US and most developed countries care to give up their luxuries and most people in undeveloped countries are just trying to survive from day to day to care too much about the overall environment. But hey, we can keep taking shots at political leaders for doing what they do best and we can keep on not being responsible for our waste. Just keep buying the next shinny thing and throwing the old stuff away.

lol at you and your outrage at people who are shocked at what our so called president and his "party" are doing. just because you don't recycle stuff or try to find another use for an old item before throwing it in the trash doesn't mean all americans are not trying to do something. how many hybrid cars are out there? or solar panels? wind turbines? how many people people super insulate their homes to help conserve energy? americans are trying to clean things up but because we are not there yet doesn't mean we shouldn't try to do better. throwing our hands up and saying it's too tough so why even try approach will not help us.....well, at least many of us don't think it will help. But Donnie has an R by his name so many republicans will buy into that plan
