  1. Let’s ban Clester from coming back at any point:sarcasm

seriously, would be really interesting if he really has ill feelings towards the program, if Frost backed off, or what? Tough missing out on two local talents...especially one being a legacy kid. Best of luck to him...hopefully the other targets they are high on commit to the Huskers!

Assuming he comes back next year, he will shatter the receiving records at DONU. Stanley indicated that he expected JD to do so right after he graduated, very quietly one of the most prolific careers in recent memory. I hope he comes back for only the selfish reason to get to watch him play more.

Will he graduate this spring? If so, does he transfer? I really hope he doesn’t!

  3. Will definitely be interesting how this plays out. Maybe the coaches can get Farmer to talk with him about what he did with the football and wrestling programs? I know Farmer never competed, but being able to stay connected to the sport and stay in great shape seemed to work out pretty well for him.

Has he said he is only interested in football at the next level?

  4. I was at the game and have watched this kid on film throughout the last couple of years since we are in the same district. He is a monster! However, I am not sure he can come right in and start. I hesitate to say this because he is a good player! I think a year in the weight room under Duval will do wonders for him, but our complete lack of quality depth at the tackle position may force their hand. He is coming from a very strong program and is a top wrestler in the state so hopefully he can be ready! I just do not want him forced in to play and then messes with his psyche!

Mom says distance is a factor.

Dad is looking for a good strength coach, good OL coach and a HC who's not going anywhere.  Dad also mentions distance.  But says it's Bryce's decision.

Bryce says he expects to compete for a spot so not necessarily looking for a place he thinks he can play right away.

Hasn't decided on any other visits.  Depends on his playoffs.

This kid is a must get! Probably top lineman I have seen on film...I like him better than the Edina kid that is going to Notre Shame. His team should make a deep run in the playoffs...#1 team in 6A this year. The drive to Lincoln from this area is pretty simple and hopefully that helps the Huskers! I would also think the reputation of the strength coach and OL coach go in our favor. And the obvious type of coach that Frost is.

Yep. He has done very well and glad he has developed into the player he is now. It is great to see a kid from MN have success at the next level. Did you coach against him or watch a whole lot of film besides his highlights? I am guessing no! Get a kid into the right system and he will flourish. The system EP runs is not even close to use his talents he has shown while a Husker.

I suppose you make perfect judgments though...

Both quarterbacks get a lot of respect for going out there in that environment. The Oline did them no favors. Our problem isn't scheme it's mental and that will take time.

There are very few players on that team that want the ball in their hands when the game matters. I think next year Frost goes young at the beginning while weeding out the players that don't have the appropriate mentality.

If that is the case, he needs to do it now. Some of these guys are VERY bad and are being exposed big time. That will send a message that you work hard and play hard you will get on the field.

  8. This group just does not know how to win. It is not in their make up right now. We are seeing how bad this group really was last year and how far they have to go. It is frustrating to watch the same crap go on that went on with previous two staffs. Habits are hard to break and this group has some terrible habits!

so they have athletic sporting events before school starts in minnesota? that just sounds weird.

The scheduling for school to start in MN is based around the State Fair and how whiny the resorts are up here. I am a teacher and coach...I wish we started before Labor Day. If you start before Labor Day, you have to get a waiver...construction or something like that. It is really crappy how much control the State Fair and the resorts have on the school start time!

And I coach against Bryce's team. He is the real deal. I feel he is better than the #1 ranked kid in the state at Edina that committed to Notre Shame. The word on the street he is leaning to Sconny....hope his visit changes his mind!!!!

  10. A few years back I was at the Husker-Goofs game here in MN. My nephew, dad, and I were standing for the beginning of the game until some jack wagon called security on us. The crazy part is it was Husker fans that called security! We sat down and then stood back up a short time later and this guy went absolutely bats#!t crazy. The Goofs fans were rolling laughing at him yelling at us. I finally said we are on the same team. I moved to the the Goofs section and had a good time with them. We also just razzed this dude's group and finally a couple of them came to their senses.

It was unreal to get into an argument with Husker fans at an AWAY game...can't make it up I guess!

He has a ways to go for him to be mentioned in the same sentence as Gable Steveson IMO.  Gable is one of the very best in the world at heavyweight and he hasnt even reached college yet.

Hence me saying he is being projected. The school I coach at wrestles them every year...I am very familiar with Gable.

  12. Might be really difficult to get him away from wrestling. He is moving up the ranks and is being projected to be a Gable Steveson type wrestler. Would be huge to get him though....I would put the press on him. Would be a good start to anchor the OL/DL in this class!

It’s really irrelevant when his family moved to Nebraska.  If the parents aren’t fans, the kids likely aren’t either.

I moved to Minnesota 14 years ago.  My kids that were born here aren’t Gophers fans by any means.

I was born in Minnesota and I am not a fan of the Goofs...obviously. My daughter wears her Husker gear proudly and yells Go Big Red!
