Just saw he is no longer a USC Trojan.

Orlando Brown from OU did like 14-15.
The difference is that Brown was pretty dang good in college...Gates, was exposed frequently!

Hope the staff comes up to MN and takes a look at Jonathan Mann from Rosemount, MN. Kid is fast and big for a WR! Having to coach against him he is good! Interest will start coming I assume.

Nick Henrich and Chris Hickman moved up BIG TIME in the Top 247.
Nick #69 in country and #4 ILB
Chris #115 in country and #3 TE
Where do we stand with these two? I would think Frost and Co are making them a priority??
I have read comments where some dad was wishing they would go elsewhere because Frost did not offer his son...seemed to have an axe to grind!

I don't even remember this guy, but then again, I have blacked that era of football out of my mind!

Absolutely insane what he and the staff since they were announced. He has to have an amazing wife and family to assist and support. I am very excited for what they will all do with the Huskers!
As a high school coach it is stressful on the family...there is no way I could even begin to understand the stress he has been under!
-
Would be great to get this kid...I gotta think Frost and company put the full court press on to get him to stay home!

Solid offer. Glad to see the Huskers coming up here to MN. Coached against this kid as well in football and wrestling.

I struggle to see how the game of football, where there are risks to can't really mitigate, is the same as training, where you certainly have control over all the variables that affect the outcome and can mitigate these risks.
These are not the same things.
You do not have control over ALL variables....just not possible. I agree that this should not happen again, but to just throw stones at the staff saying they should have known this was going to happen or they should know better it just ridiculous. Things happen and sometimes you do not know they are going to happen until they happen. It is tough that two kids had their body react they did. Frost coming out saying they did evaluate the players and dialed it back a little, they had training staff in with the kids and coaches, etc should be enough for you to know they took precautions to keep the players safe. Unfortunately there was an issue. They will learn from it and move forward.

I feel like if it could land people in the hospital, it's probably a bad idea. And we pay these guys a lot of money to know this.
Bottom line is, this was a very bad mistake and should never happen again. There is just no excuse for it. It's not as if guys get rhabdo all the time and it's a completely normal outcome of hard training
And they can land in the hospital playing the game football. Do you honestly believe they did not take precautions? I mean, seriously? Even as a high school coach our staff take precautions in the weight room, on the field, etc. I think it is safe to assume that college coaches at this level would take the same if not better precautions.

That game was at our place and he was doing some kind of 'tour' around the metro area. The arrived in a helicopter wearing a Goofs jersey with this kid's number on it. He was on the field and talking with the Edina coaches and acting like he normally does. He then gave a pitty visit to our head coach and our coach basically blew him off. Just thought it was tacky to show up at the opposing team's field with this kid's jersey number on. I know schedules are tight, but our kids and fans were a little miffed. I probably took more offense to it because I think the guy is a tool and all about himself. To each their own I guess!
Back to Quinn, it would be great to get him. Mauler type player!

Was wondering if/when we were going to offer this kid. Coached against him this year...he is a monster!
He is a legacy kid for the Goofs. Fleck came to our game last year and was a complete dips#!t. However, there are some big names after him. Will be interesting where he ends up.

ZERO interest in this game. Until the NCAA gets it figured out, the NC game will continue to be like this. It is a sham and is very frustrating how they will not change to a larger tournament.
-
Good luck...now we will all get our answer of how poorly he was coached here, if he was lazy as hell, or if he truly has the potential.
The way he looked against top caliber guys the last two years leads me to believe he was poorly coached, lazy, and did not reach his potential.
Hopefully he proves himself and can get it done. Always good to see former Huskers excel at the next level.

Two reasons I was cheering for UCF today:
1. Any team playing against the SEC is a team I am going to root for...like right now, I am cheering for f-ing Oklahoma!
2. Frost was coaching and I wanted his time to end on a positive note there
UCF looked great today and definitely deserved to win this game. Good work by the Knights!!

I have long suspected that some of the O-line don't like Lee, particularly Gates.... nothing to base that on other than what was talked about above and what I've seen during games
Gates must have disliked TA as well...he sucked last year too!

Wonder if keeping him on and Riley announcing his retirement is the route here???
Riley is pretty honorable and maybe Moos gave this option??
Just wishful thinking I guess...

I like the thinking there. Bring in backup QB, pass 3 straight times!
OL cannot block for s#!t so no other options. This just keeps turning more into a circus!!!

I had free tix and decided to stay home. Glad I made this decision...just embarrassing!

And yet it's only two scores and we get the ball to start the second half.
You do understand the D has to stop them from scoring in order to win?? The D has not stopped once from scoring...
They are both bad teams, but the Huskers are even worse then the Goofs!

Neither team is good enough to just roll the other. Minnesota will give them chances.
Ummm...they have stopped the Huskers a couple of times. We have stopped them ZERO times!

Great and all...defense cannot stop s#!t though!!!

What really sucks is that Nebraska has been down for so long that the true pride of playing for the Huskers might be down a bit too...plus, you add in the fact that the previous three regimes were not overly interested in local kids.
Frost is the one that can bring this local pride back. Add in Held and Ruud that can only help and will be huge to continue Frost's ability to get the pride back.
The local kids that have committed are great, hopefully the staff can get Henrich and Hickman as well...that would be amazing!!!!
