  1. I totally agree with your post. A&M has been awful the last few years, aside from some close games with Texas, which, yes, they won back to back, I think about 5 yrs ago. Too many people act like A&M's back, when they've never really been there to begin with. Over-rated and I still love how former TTU coach Mike Leach called their ROTC wannabee's a bunch of Pirates!
  2. Yeah, I have family in Oklahoma - all OSU grads or fans, and they will make you laugh with their heartbreaking stories of losses to OU and UT over the years. Hell, Barry Sanders greatest season ever they went 10-2 (including their bowl game) and still lost to NU and OU. They remind me A LOT of Mizzou fans. They've had some big expectations, and they've had it all sitting right in front of them, and still haven't cashed in yet. They had a chance to beat OU for the first time since 2002 last year. That was OU's worst team in 10 years...and they couldn't get it done, and to add insult to injury, they got shut out. Poor bastards. That's a pretty good list. I agree about Oklahoma State. Playing them hasn't been friendly the last couple of times, but they only return one starter on their offensive line and have a new starting quarterback. They got used to life without Dez Bryant and they have Kendall Hunter, but that's all they have going for them. The A&M game is going to be tougher than the Iowa State game this year, imho. ISU may be 'geeked' up to play us, but I think Nebraska is going to be more jacked up to kick their @$$ after last year.
  3. Here's my rankings of your schedule, for what it's worth: 1. Texas - I haven't seen this level of agression for a game since Mizzou vs. Kansas in 2007 2. Mizzou - IF we have an improved D (big if) and IF Gabbert is healthy, this could be a freaking dogfight. I'm serious. 3. @ Kansas St - Something about The White Rat (Snyder) makes me think you're going to be in a pickle in that game - but should win. 4. @ Washington - I realize they have a good QB, but the media is giving them way too much love to soon. 5. @ Iowa State - C'mon, after that disaster in Lincoln last year, they're gonna be geeked up for chance to win two years in a row. 6. @ A&M - Much like UW, I'm getting nauseauted at the overnight love for A&M, because of their QB. They're less than impressive. 7. @ Oklahoma St - Some of you all respect them way too much. They lost all thier stars, and those guys couldn't beat OU's worst team. 8. Colorado - Enough Said 9. Kansas - See Colorado 10. SDSU - Those Northern Teams are comprised of Ice Road Truckers kids and alcoholics. May be scarppy 'til the booze wears off. 11. Idaho - I forgot they had a football team 12. Westerm Kentucky - They're always scarppy in the NCAA Basketball Tournament...but this ain't basketball.
  4. Yeah...all my KU buddies are totally freaked out that their QB's name is Pick. I said," Well either it will be a curse, or just the opposite and he'll end up being a total stud."
  5. Couldn't agree more Junior. I make that point all the time on Tigerboard when people yap about how "dominant" Mizzou has been in teh past 4-5 seasons, with the most wins by any SR class, etc. Yes, we've had some good wins, but no wins over OU or UT = mediocre. Also, you can't brag about whopping up on non-con nobodies, which has account for 20-25 of those wins, although we do have 6 or 7 wins against Ole Miss and Illinois - not exactly powehouses, but whetver. Gotta beat the Big Boys to get National respect.
  6. Thanks man. Yeah, I hope like hell we DO have a defense this year, even if it's only 20% better than what we had last year, because that was just horrible. We keep hearing," We have a TON of talent on defense", so if that is the case, then it has to be a coaching issue. The 2008 MU vs. KU game, and the Baylor & Navy games last year literally made my skin crawl. How we could be so damn bad in those (3) games is mind-numbing. I had an absolute blast in Lincoln, and even if we don't make it to the Big 10 (or whatever it becomes), I'll still go to games in Lincoln. I'm a fan of College Football period, and my 2nd team has always been...wait for it - Ohio State. So I have more than one reason to want to go to Big 10 games as well. I was supposed to be going to the Ohio State vs. Michigan game this year in Columbus, then realized it was the same day as MU vs. KU @ Arrowhead (haven't missed one yet), and my wife threatened my life if I missed it. Good luck to you guys as well...only 55 days until CFB starts!
  7. So...are you guys looking forward to the game on October 30th? I have no dount that the No. 1 game on your radar screen this year is the re-match with UT, and deservedly so. That being said, I'm excited for the return trip to Lincoln, as the game in 2008 was my first time at Memorial Stadium an we had a great time (and not just because we won). That's a great venue, and the pre and post game partying we did downtwon was a blast too. I wasn't even remotely shocked that you all were taken over us by the Big 10, and I expected it to happen, as you're the more logical pick for many reasons. I am bummed out that we will be losing our yearly game, because now that Mizzou has pulled it's head out of it's A$$, the games have been fun...aside from last year in Columbia, and that game sucked because it rained 5 inches and killed my buzz - of course, so did that Suh guy! Anyhow, first time posting here, so...good luck this season, and I'll hold out the faint hope that we can still join the Big 10 - but not likely with our wuss administration.
