Even the call at the end of the Texas game last year wasn't this infuriating. I can see how reasonable minds could disagree with the :01 call. I think they got it wrong, but at least reasonable minds could disagree on it. Tonight, though, the game was simply thrown from start to finish. Sure, had our offense executed and put up a few points, we wouldn't have been in the position to let the refs decide it. But still, it was a close game and had it been called fairly we would have won 10-6.

Right. Give A&M credit -- they're a good team. They came to play. Even though they only scored 9, they've got a good QB and GRay is more than competent at RB. But the deciding factor in this game was the officiating. Without the blown calls (they weren't even close) the good guys win. Who are we going to complain to? The Big 12? It would be nice if there was some higher level of accountability.

Does any one have a copy of the actual relevant NCAA regulation rather than a letter sent from the compliance officer some years ago? If read literally (which some people apparently are doing) the compliance letter indicates that a husker fan bumping into a husker recruit at the grocery store and uttering "I'm sorry" would be a violation with serious consequences. The actual regulations are almost certainly more flexible/liberal, and I'd rather we read and quote the actual NCAA rule rather than a letter that doesn't carry any regulatory force.
