  1. Cherry Slices: ***I am sorry that the picture is huge. The picture was taken last night after we had dinner. 1 Cup Blue Bonnet Margarine ***I Softened It A Little In The Microwave 1-3/4 Cups Sugar 4 Eggs 1 Tsp. Vanilla Put all the ingredients in a large mixing bowl; mix. Add Gradually: 2-1/2 Cups Flour Pinch Of Salt 1-1/2 Tsp. Baking Powder ***IMPORTANT: Save 1-1/2 Cups Batter To Put On Top Of Cherry Slices. Beat well and put batter in a cake pan that has been sprayed with Pam. Spread 1 can of cherry pie filling over the dough. Using a spoon, drop the reserved batter on top and spread out using a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. When it is done baking, make a powdered sugar frosting to frost the cherry slices. Powdered Sugar Frosting: ***I didn’t measure, I eyeballed it. I put powdered sugar, butter, milk and some vanilla in a bowl. Using a mixer, mix it until you get the consistency you want. Let the cherry slices cool and frost the top with powdered sugar frosting.
  2. Great ideas, thank you. It isn't fun being stranded in the cold. In high school, my best friend and I were on icy roads and had a wreck. We had no business being on the roads and we had to walk for miles to get help. Be safe everyone please.
  3. I don't even know what was posted if something got removed. All I know is that I am thankful for any replies to make traveling safer when it is cold outside. I just want everyone to be safe and prepared when they travel.

  9. Winter will be here before we know it. I got this in email so thought I would share it with you. It is best to be safe than sorry. How To Prepare An Emergency Car Kit: First, consider the container you would like to store your kit items in. A large plastic, air tight tote with lid is ideal. You want something compact that can fit in a trunk, but large enough to hold everything. It should be water proof, air tight, and durable. Once you have your tote, here are some items you will want to put in it! Supplies to include in your emergency car kit: 1. Heavy blanket to keep warm. 2. Gloves to protect hands should you need to work on your car. 3. An extra set of warm clothes so you stay warm and dry. 4. Dried, or non perishable, food to fight hunger. Peanuts, easy open canned goods, and dried fruit are ideal. 5. Hard candy to prevent your mouth drying out if stranded for long periods of time. 6. Bottled water to prevent dehydration. Have several bottles, plus an empty bottle you can fill. 7. A durable ice scraper. 8. Flashlight with extra batteries. 9. Shovel (a small hand shovel and a regular shovel is ideal) 10. Emergency flares 11. Small tool kit 12. Jumper cables 13. First aid items including gauze, band aids, antiseptic, scissors, and pain reliever. 14. Kitty litter for traction in case tires get stuck in snow. 15. Candles and matches. 16. Extra car cell phone charger 17. Tire changing supplies Should you get stranded, you want to be sure you stay dry, warm, hydrated, and fed until help can arrive. Having the flares and a car cell phone charger can help you notify others of your emergency, while the various tools can help you help yourself until help arrives. The tools may also prevent you from having to call for help in the first place. Don’t get stranded without the supplies you need. Instead, give these tips for how to prepare an emergency car kit a try. Having an emergency car kit in your own vehicle is easy, inexpensive, and could be the difference between life and death. Give one a try!

  13. Grilled Buffalo Wings: 3 lbs. Chicken Wings, Cut Into Drumettes & Flats 1 T. Baking Powder 1 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper 1 Tsp. Kosher Salt For The Sauce: 4 T. Unsalted Butter 1/2 Cup Frank’s Louisiana Hot Sauce 2 . Texas Pete’s Or Other Hot Sauce 1 T. Dark Brown Sugar 1 T. Honey 2 Tsp. Cider Vinegar 1/4 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper, Plus More, To Taste Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Place the wings in a large bowl and sprinkle with the baking powder, cayenne, and salt and toss to evenly coat. Arrange the wings in a single layer on wire rack placed over a baking sheet. Refrigerate uncovered for at least 8 hours. Place butter in a small saucepan and melt over low heat. Whisk in the hot sauces, brown sugar, honey, cider vinegar, and cayenne to taste until combined. Remove from the heat and set aside. Light a chimney 3/4 full of charcoal. When charcoal is fully lit and covered in gray ash, pour coals out and arrange them on one side of the charcoal grate, keeping the other side empty. Clean and oil the cooking grate. Place the wings skin side up over the cool side of the grill, cover, and cook until skins are crisp and are starting to brown, about 30-40 minutes. Flip the wings over and move to the hot side of the grill and continue to cook until the skins just begin to char, about 1-3 minutes. Remove the wings to a bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss to coat evenly. Remove wings to a plate and serve hot.
  14. Grilled Jalapenos With Bacon & Cheese: ***You can smoke these or bake these in the oven for about 15-20 minutes at 350 degrees and then finish them under the broiler, if you want. If you don’t like any heat, you can use small bell peppers instead of jalapenos. If you scrape the jalapenos clean, they won't really be spicy, just a little heat afterwards. If you are using the grill, the trick with these is to grill them slowly. If you try to cook them over the hottest part of the grill, you'll end up with crispy bacon and raw peppers. When you start these jalapenos straight on the grill, the cheese may ooze out a lot, so you want to finish them up on top of foil, if this happens. 5 Large Jalapenos-(Or More If They’re Smaller 1/2 Cup Cream Cheese 1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1 Tsp. Salt Pinch Of Pepper 3/4 Tsp. Smoked Paprika 1 Clove Garlic, Crushed 5 Slices Bacon Slice your jalapenos from stem to tip of the pepper. Carefully open the peppers, and scrape out the seeds and white membranes. Set the cleaned peppers aside. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic. Stuff each pepper with as much cheese mixture as you can. Wrap each pepper tightly in a slice of bacon, and secure with toothpicks or on a skewer. Grill on the side of the grill, where it's not too hot, for anywhere from ten to twenty five minutes, depending on how hot the grill is. ***You can grill them on foil, so you don't ruin your grill grate with cheese. These peppers need slow heat and a little time. Let them cook so that the peppers are cooked. Serve with Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing or your favorite dip.
  15. I hate peeling garlic and I finally found an easy way to peel garlic. I tried this tip today when getting something ready for dinner tonight and it works. This tip is from Ina Garten on foodnetwork. Separate the cloves from each head and drop into boiling water for 1 minute. Drain and peel each clove then set aside.
