  1. Well uh...they won I guess.

haha damn Sports Illustrated. I updated Big Ten scores for the day and it showed TCU 51 NU 50 but they must have still been in the process of updating the scores because apparently that was the score of your last game and not this one. Good stuff on the win today Huskers.

Ya, the final on this one was 69-57 in favor of the Huskers.

I just don't see how this team can get to .500 in conference play. I believe the first four out of six conference games we have are against currently ranked opponents, and the only teams who aren't are Michigan State and Penn State. You figure Michigan State might be in the top 25 by then but I doubt it matters.

  2. Oklahoma State, Clemson, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, UGA.

That's just stupid. We beat Oklahoma State in their house last year and lost by 3 to Oklahoma with a gimpy QB (had a big lead on them at halftime before Martinez got hurt again too) but now we couldn't compete with them?

The ONLY team on that list we have no chance to beat is Oregon. Horrible matchup for us. Other than that we could beat any one of those teams - including Wisconsin.

Hey, the thread asked "Objectively" what teams can't NU compete with... coming from someone that's not a NU homer...I'm being objective. I don't think a team that lost to a 3-5 team at home can beat the elite teams in the nation...and the Huskers have already proven they can't hang with Wisconsin. There is little room for debate in as lopsided a defeat as they suffered in Madison.

Didn't Texas Tech beat Oklahoma at home? Can't use that to decide who we can and can't compete with. And Oklahoma vs Texas Tech was a more lopsided match then Nebraska vs. Northwestern

  3. After being denied to join the conference in the past it feels good to be in the B1G. It was nice playing in the Big 12 North and getting a shot at a bcs bowl the last couple of years, but I think we will be playing in quite a few B1G championships in the future even with better opponents.

Even though it doesn't favor us, it's refreshing to know that every week matters and nothing is going to be handed to us. We were beyond spoiled in the Big XII North. As long as we beat Mizzou every year, we were fine. I love the higher level of competition each week and find it more fun to watch when more is on the line every week. Hopefully this pattern continues for many years.

So glad to finally be a member of a conference where it's actually a good fit.

    GO B1G RED!

I thought the Big 8 was a great fit

  4. College Football

    1. Nebraska

2A. Michigan State - Going to graduate school there

2B. Maryland - Always been a fan of their basketball program so I like seeing them win in college football as well.

    3. Any team playing any Big 12 school except A&M, KU and OU

    Pro Football

    1. San Fran

    2. Tampa Bay

    3. Denver - All the Tebow hate as made me a Tebow supporter guys a winner

  5. There are going to be a lot of 1 loss teams, I don't see a 2 loss team making a BCS bowl without somehow winning their conference.

There won't be in three weeks but it doesn't matter. All that matters is which four conferences will get two teams in. Looks to be acc vs. big ten for the last spot. Whoever is #2 in the acc will also have two loses (at least).

    What about Houston?

  6. Question: If all of this was going on with so many boys, why didn't some of them step up before now? If this had been going on since 1994, surely some of them would've said something before now. I, too, think it's weird that it's all coming into play now. I can see that the grand jury investigations take a long time but the timing seems weird, almost like a set up-like they wanted JoePa out and wanted him out now. It all seems so sinister to me. I am glad that it's out though. I just cannot for the life of me understand why that Grad student didn't take Sandusky out when he saw him harming that little boy. Sandusky would've been a soprano if I would've caught him doing that to a little boy-the janitor too! What were they thinking??

The whole situation could be a complete course in psychology and sociology. I would guess when they were younger they didn't come forward out of fear or ignorance. Don't forget these were mostly disadvantaged kids so they may have been weary of what could happen to them if they told anybody what happened. And when they were older they either could have been too ashamed to speak out, or like one said in their testimony they couldn't remember too many details because they probably tried to block it out or forget about it.

Sandusky bought these kids gifts to. And don't tell me he would've been singing soprano, the guy who saw it was probably in SHOCK! I mean, what if you saw Carl doing that? I know I don't think I could believe what I was seeing. Still no excuse though and he should've went to the cops.

  7. Penn State won't recover from this in our lifetime. Tiger woods was the biggest thing in golf and all he did was cheat on his wife. He can't recover. Football program will fade into obscurity. Enrollment will drop overall. Financial impact of civil suits could reach into the billions. It will snowball in time and I don't think they can sustain it. This wasn't one sick individual...it was a cult like culture of the whole school if not entire community. They SHOULD get the death penalty from the NCAA but it won't matter if they do because Penn State will get it either way.

Why can't he? He is in contention now??? :confucius

You know what they say, "moral man, immoral society". Or in this case I guess it'd be immoral man immoral society.

  8. I'm not an expert when it comes to the 2-gap, but I'm not a fan of it. With the personnel we've had the last few years (first Suh, then Prince/Gomes/Hagg) you could've run any scheme you wanted and it would've worked.

Now that our talent and experience is depleted (injuries aren't helping either), I think we're seeing the deficiencies of the 2-gap system and it's frightening. Soft against the run, no pass rush and big gains through the air as a result.

So basically it's like having no defense at all?

  9. Rex has never lied to a women, whatever he says simply becomes the truth.

Ghosts dressed up... as Rex for Halloween.

Rex teaches an advanced course for lesbians at the University, ...If you're going to do it ladies, do it right.

He once carried a ten minute conversation with me, ...And Rex didn't say anything at all.

I also heard Rex won American Idol, ...By only using sign language.

Over the summer he got stranded on an island with only a pocket knife. The next the day he emailed the authorities his location.
