  1. Oh, by the way...Fouts has had a hard-on for Nebraska for years. Hates the teams from the midwest. I hated it when I saw on Huskers.com that he was an announcer. We're all just big, slow farm boys. Who just happened to win.

I noticed that too. All he talked about was we had never seen the type of speed that Clemson has on defense...... :dumdum

  2. He will have his hands full thats for sure. Especially if Freedaman goes pro.

Funny thing about that is that Freeman never considered KSUcks when Snyder was still coach - it was only after the clown prince was hired that Freeman felt the "bond". It will be interesting to see what TEXT BOY decides to do....somehow, I don't see that as a match made in heaven.

Rumor that Eckler leaving to go to KSU:

I seriously will lose all of the respect I have for Ekler if he leaves.

As for the post about the "Match Made In Heaven" between Snyder and Freeman -- didn't Freeman blame all of Snyder's recruits for all of the team's woes? I think Freems is filling out his paperwork as I'm typing this.

CORRECTION: As he's "TEXTING" it..... :rollin

  4. even though I hate Pederson and Shatel, the security is not about a crazy kid trying to kill a lot of people if a person really wanted to get in the old security guard who is watching price is right could not stop anyone with a gun

I have no idea what you just said.

No kidding. I realize grammar smack is weak, but a period, or any kind of punctuation for that matter would be helpful.

From what I can tell you are saying that the security guard isn't going to do any good if a gunman was to come into the athletic department. That may be true, but it may not be. Perhaps the security guard is armed, perhaps he is close enough to a button to call the police. All I know is while having some kind of security, any kind of security, is better than having none.

Oh, for the record, Shatel sucks :)

have you seen there security guards? if I said that I had a potato they might get afraid, no offensive for those afraid of potatos, those people are not REAL guards, they are just usually old guys who just sit there.

Do you have something against old people?

  5. Hopefully, this lack of respect will only serve to motivate our guys through the offseason; however, with Herbstreit, I don't think anyone gives a "you know what" about what he thinks. It'll be decided on the field. Mizzery has to keep Daniels healthy, he got really banged up towards the end of the year from the NU game on.

  6. Never saw the Reality show, but I'm sure most of us (fans, which is what he is) would be pretty much the same way.  The only difference between him and us (at least me) is that he is a billionaire.  I would love to have him own one of my teams any day.  Look at it this way, a few years ago, the team was built on many superstars, all of those players didn't play defense, only offense, but now he has a team that does play enough defense to at least make it to the Finals.  He learns as he is going.  Does what it takes.  Good Owner.

Mark Cuban is the best thing that has happened in the NBA in terms of new owners in the last 10 years. He's does gives a rat's you know what about winning. First and foremost, he is a fan of the game...I only wish more owners thought in terms of that first!!!! :clap

  7. Cool stats. Now compare those to the 2003 team.

Why can't Callahan get a break?

Maybe because the team still isnt as good as it was prior to him being hired.

Hey former fan did you notice in 2003 when we played any one with a winning record we got our asses handed to us :bang You just don't get it do ya.We beat one team with a winning record and it was the first game of the season where we invited 400 ex huskers back and I'm glad we caught okie state early.Every team with a winning record wrecked us.It doesn't make me happy to say but it's the truth.

Yeah BRING THE WOOD what you said!!!!

    :cheers

  8. Bishop Exits Sports Nightly

Bishop phased out from 'Sports Nightly'

The Pinnacle Sports Network has phased out on-air personality John Bishop.

Bishop was one of Pinnacle’s free-lance talents who hosted “Sports Nightly” and handled the football post-game show. He worked his last “Sports Nightly” shift Thursday evening.

Pinnacle President Paul Aaron said releasing Bishop was planned because the network will produce and air many of its programs from its newly expanded studio in Gretna.

Bishop lives in Lincoln, where he’s news and sports director at news-talk KLIN (1400 AM).

“We’re hiring our own people and taking total control of our production,” Aaron said.

Bishop said he expected his release. His Pinnacle duties have decreased, beginning with his removal from Nebraska baseball play-by-play broadcasts last May.

“I’ve been prepared for all of this,” he said. “I just didn’t know how many weeks or months it was going to be before they didn’t need me anymore.”

Triad Broadcasting general manager Mark Halverson said Bishop will take a more active daytime role at KLIN. Triad owns KLIN and three other stations in Lincoln.

“We’re very excited about what John will be able to do for us,” Halverson said.

As for the Pinnacle broadcasts, Matt Davison and Randy Lee worked Friday’s night two-hour “Sports Nightly” at the Nebraska Bookstore in Lincoln.

Aaron said Lee, Davison and football and baseball play-by-play announcer Jim Rose will rotate hosting the talk show. Veteran broadcaster Gary Java will handle football post-game shows.
