  1. He is back to a solid at Florida
  2. According to the Rivals teaser, things went about as good as the could have. Anyone have anymore info?
  3. I would really hope so. However, he did say that he was going to make his commit on a Sunday. So we might have to wait till next Sunday...
  4. I find it real hard not pull the trigger on NU since your flesh and blood is on the team. Green seems like a great kid with strong family values. PLUS NU is GODS TEAM Not only that, but he said himself that his decision was coming soon and that was about a week and a half ago. I expect him to commit tomorrow.
  5. That is a fantastic update! Ya, I love this update too. It seriously made my day.
  6. I know exactly what you are saying, and sometimes I feel the same way. But I really like this guy, ONE of the guys I want the most.
  7. Wow, I really like this guy. I just never thought we had much of a chance. We need to get this guy here on a visit!
  8. He seems to be just like Quincy Enunwa. I love it! After some early love in the press, Enunwa has all but disappeared. Hopefully he gets some touches as the year goes on and this isn't a wasted redshirt. Pretty sure his redshirt is still intact. He can play a certain amount without losing it. Maybe someone else more in the know about this can enlighten us on that. But, I don't think he's played nearly enough to have lost that. Think Bo used him to push some of his veteran receivers early in the year by playing him. Unfortunetly, I'm pretty sure that any amount of playing time means that you can't redshirt. Granted, my source isn't the greatest but it was the best that I could find: "Contrary to common belief, the redshirt rules state that any amount of participation in a competition will trigger the use of a season of competition, and therefore he/she may not redshirt that season."-Wikipedia on redshirt
  9. It seems like any player we are recruiting s mke their way for a visit this week. Who are all the recruits comming? Official and unofficial
  10. And don't forget Mr. Turner, Rex, and possibly still Braylon Heard. Who's scared of the Big 10 schedule next year?
  11. However, unlike Owa AG isn't goinna wait till signing day to commit. Someone suggested to him to wait till the Army All-American game. He was totally aganst it; he said he is already drawing impatient and just wants to get it done with. If you ask me, he has already made his decision and is just waiting for his Husker visit to confirm it (wheher his decision is Nebraska or not).
  12. We could end up 2 :star :star if we can get Ray Drew too. Man im loving this recruiting class more and more as time goes on....
  13. Maybe if Calvin Johnson had to catch the football with football helmets for hands, but Calvin would probably still have better success catching the ball. There is a reason the staff wants him on defense, he has hands of stone. Kinda suprising considering he's a pretty decent basketball playa. Man I don't understand that. He is what 6-5 or 6-6, so you know that ball is like a nerf football in those paws of his. How can you not catch the football? Its all between the ears, just contrate. Can't tell ya man. Like I said he is a very decent basketball player. And Bball helps improve hand eye coordination a lot. It is just what has been said about the kid since day one. And ufortunately this is something that really can't be coached. You either have it or you don't. I guess he'll make a great free safety. Actually the staff is projecting him as a DE. Has the heighth and frame to pack on the weight. Still think he ends up in Iowa City with an outside chance he becomes a Golden Domer. He has the frame to definetly add some serious pounds to play DE. But I could see him being very dangerous there. I agree with you for where he ends up, but him keeping us in his top always gives me small hope.

  16. This kid is gonna be big time, no matter where he goes. I have never really thought that we stood a chance with him, and still really don't. But man if we did land this guy, that'd be gravy on this already sweet recruiting class. The next Calvin Johnson.
  17. He got banged up this week. Some sort of knee injury and will miss 4-6 weeks, MCL tear I think.
  18. Does anyone realize that David has a little brother who will be graduating next year. He plays safety, but I think he fits the mold of a corner at 5-10 175. With as out spoken David is on the huskers, I'd say this kid is in the bag for next year.
  19. Yea this guy would be a nice addition. However, I think that there are other recruits that are more valuable for the capacity that we have on this years recruiting class. With only ,what, nine available positions left, is he really in your top ten? Probably not, but in order to get another 9-10 kids you are going to have to continue to recruit in the neighborhood of 20. Agreed. And you are right about him being safer than AC, I'm not that impressed with AC in the first place.
  20. Do people still remember that his brother is a husker? I think he is pretty much a husker, he just taking his time and doesn't want to do anything irrational.

  22. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Toby Gerhart play baseball as well? And I'd say he did it successfully too.
  23. Imagine Amobi Okoye, he was drafted into the NFL at 19. I like GMP, he is obviously a very special kid. I think getting him so young would be a gift, he has a lot of room to mature and grow.
  24. I really don't think he will end up at UT. And he may even want to commit there, Texas just doesnt have room for him in this class. They only have a few more spots open and another RB is not what they are looking for with MB already on board.
  25. We have somewhere close to 19 seniors on scholarship. Add in 2-3 due to attrition, and maybe 1 of Crick, Dennard, or Kinnie going NFL early and my rough estimate would be around 22-23 for this class. Maybe 10 spots left? That's a pretty rough estimate. assuming marsh is counted as part of this class, we've got 14 now and currently have room under he 85 limit for 7 more. assuming some attrition, i think we'll probably max out the 25, or at least get to 24 (and save one for a walk-on). that means 10 or 11 more recruits. We currently have 84 players on scholarship (Mike Smith also is still on a normal scholarship which is why we're leaving one open, in case he comes back next year, if he goes medical, he can't play again) Of those 85, 20 are seniors including Smith. I don't think Smith will be back, so i'll go with 21 spots. We have Marsh and Heard coming midyear (hopefully) which will give us 19 open. Gilmore said today he expected to sign 21-22 players so they are expecting attrition. So we have probably 8 or 9 left. i didn't count smith or heard in my numbers. if heard does make it, i assume he and marsh would count as part of the 2011 class, so it appears our estimates are pretty close (one off). (i say 24-25, including those two, and heard would also be one of the 10-11 more once he actually qualifies.) by the way, i obviously can't pretend to know more about our recruiting than gilmore, but he does have a couple of factors to keep in mind - it's to our benefit to act like there are fewer spots than there are, to increase the sense of urgency in securing one, and also, he can't exactly advertise too many open spots before they actually open. historically, it has been common for the talks with players about their realistic chances for future playing time to take place after the season is over, allowing us to better know which ones might try their luck somewhere else. Assuming that we do only have 8 spots left, what 8 do we want? I mean we are recruiting a lot of good players right now and seem to be in good position with them too.
