lol....  lets post all the film where he gets beat, misses tackles or draws the flag for being out of position with bad technique..

I don't understand why you have such negative feelings towards him.  He was a top 15 CB by most ratings.  He had 40 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, and 12 pbu.  If you watch any corner long enough you will find plays where he gets beat, but Lamar was by far our most talented defender.

The swing pass doesn’t work very well when there is no deep threat to keep the defense deep and in the middle of the field. Iowa was playing their safety 5 yards from the LOS because they weren’t afraid of anyone burning them deep. That’s why they had success defending NU’s swing passes. Plus, they are a very good tackling team.

Not only this, but those plays were there if the other receivers executed their blocks.  I'm not sure if you could see it on TV, but most of those failed plays were due to a WR or TE blocking the wrong guy or completely whiffing on his block.

  3. I would only miss games for weddings or funerals.  Now they have fallen way down the priority list.  Kid's sporting events and social outings come before the game now.  The good news is I am saving about $200 from not having to buy PPV games anymore.  Thanks BTN!

Does anyone else feel that Wan'Dale should be returning punts?  I love JD, but he doesn't have the same violent side step or the same explosiveness that Wan'Dale has.  Just to clarify, I love me some JD, he is a smooth athlete, but Wan'Dale is freaky in space.

Until we have a little better margins with better stability on both sides of the ball, I think I'd rather have a guy with sure hands back there. I know JD dropped that one against South Alabama but all in all, he has great hands.

What is wrong with JD fielding punts?  He already has a TD return this year and is ranked 11th for average return yards.  We aren't talking about putting Santino Panico back there. JD is one of the best returners in the country.  Why mess with that?

  5. It seems to me like completion percentage was pounded into his brain so hard that he is afraid to throw an incompletion.  It's almost like he has the yips when it comes to throwing a ball on time.  Even his touchdown to JD was after the play broke down and he was all by himself.  Combine that with happy feet and he doesn't have a chance.  He needs to get back to having "no fear of failure" and just let it rip.  I don't remember him having any timing  on time with WRs other than the one Wandale dropped and even then it was slow developing and wide open.

I think most of us on this board would not be alive and none of our kids would be alive if Dad didnt have to coerce mom. Just because you regret it later doesnt mean anyone did anything wrong.

Are you liking your own posts?  Who would possibly agree with this?

  7. My least favorite thing about following recruiting is airing out a kid's academic situation.  I guess it comes with the territory but it's disturbing to me to see strangers discussing the grades of a high school student just to make sure he can qualify to play football.  No one really knows the situation and the ones who do shouldn't be sharing it anyway.

Do you not think that Ball loves his kids?  Do you not think he is proud of his son's accomplishments and excited for them?  How is Ball saying "I could beat MJ" all that different from this kids dad tweeting out "Gotta show the kid that the old man can still outlift him" videos.

Well one is true and one is not.  Nash's dad is also not looking to get on every TV outlet to spew nonsense or try to promote his new clothing brand.  If I want to avoid the Hutmachers, all I have to do is stop following him.  Ignoring the Balls has been much more difficult.

I've seen those segments on the Podcast, but don't think that I've ever listened to it. That segment, along with Dan Hoppen, are two that I always skip. I can't handle Dan's ego (remember the time he casually mentioned scoring 70 points in a rec game after Devin Booker scored 70 for the Suns a couple years ago?)

I can't stand Dan Hoppen.  I don't understand what makes him qualified to have a segment to himself.  The worst part for me is that they all think he is some renowned food critic, which just adds to his arrogance.  He can have his opinion, but it's usually wrong.

  10. As much passion as there is in the state for the Huskers, it really doesn't have the national prominence that ND has.  The following that Nebraska has isn't any bigger than any other traditional power.  If schools with much larger alumni bases (i.e. Texas, Ohio St., Florida) don't go the independent route, then there's little reason for me to believe Nebraska would have success doing it.

    Yeah.

Those are the big beneficiaries in this sort of scenario. When Frost goes quads, he loves to get receivers on seam and wheel routes for big plays. He will throw in the QB runs, backside screens and such as constraints, but what he really wants is to get the ball down the field. What all of this speed everywhere does is to make even the constraint plays dangerous.

Not to mention the flexibility it gives us running the hurry up when this personnel group can go from 2 backs to 4 wide, or even better, if we have a TE who can also line up as a full back.  I can't imagine many defenses would be able to adapt to all the possible formations.
