  1. I don't think we can really compare how K-State has played against other teams and who they have beat and so on. It's all about how we match up with them man on man. I hate the comparisons where people say "UCF shut down Thomas so that means we should really be able to give him a rough day." That's not necessarily true. Since SDSU ran the ball down our throat 4 yards a carry, then Mississippi Valley State should be able to do the same thing rignt? I think our offensive and defensive lines will be improved from last weekend and their heads will be in the game for the KSU game. It all starts right there for this three game stretch. Like most of you have already said, we gotta be ready for the game that's right in front of us and not be looking forward to the Texas game. GBR
  2. I don't see how everyone is so confident that we are going to put up 30+ points. We should have put up at least 50 on SDSU last weekend and came away with 17. WTF? Hopefully like Bo said, they had the "day off" on Saturday against SDSU. We still don't have a proven QB yet. How do you expect us to make third down conversions when we can't hit wide open receivers against an FBS team? Even if they weren't mentally prepared or fired up for that game, they should still be able to over power everyone in the trenches. I hope I'm wrong and we put up 30+ but I just don't see it happening unless we can do it all on the ground. GBR
  3. I hope you're right Husker B-rent. I'm just not sold on our front four and how SDSU pushed us around at home. Lets hope the week and a half of practice works the kinks out. GBR
  4. I think this game is going to be a lot tougher than the average husker fan might think. Our front four were clearly getting blown back 2 or 3 yards every play against a SDSU team that we obviously didn't have any respect for. We were exposed defensively and most average to good running teams will probably be able to move the ball on us if we don't fix this problem. I don't think we should have a problem moving the ball on k-state. If we can find someone who can complete a pass to a wide open receiver we should be fine on 3rd down. I think we need to try running the ball to the outside with some sweeps and tosses. Haven't seen much of that called from watson this year. Seems to be straight up the gut or read option. Every time we passed against SDSU there was someone open and we were able to connect a few times but many were missed. I think it's back to the basics for the k-state game and we have to win the battle in the trenches if we want to survive this one. I think the huskers take a close one from the wildcats next Thursday night on ESPN, 27 - 21.

After the embarrassment at home against SDSU, hopefully the boys are ready for a real road test against the wildcats. It's gonna be harder than most people think to come a way with this one.
