Of course I'm happy when the SEC loses. But why don't I root for my team's conference?

Forgive me, but I did think Iowa getting blanked by Tennessee was funny.

I was also rooting for Bowling Green to beat Minnesota, which they almost did.

And yet I tip my hat to Northwestern, which salvaged a perfectly legitimate season out of a total dumpster fire.  Nice to know it can happen.

I don't totally hate Michigan, but I like Kalen DeBoer and Washington much better.

‘Cause it still doesn’t feel quite like Nebraska’s conference. But not any less than the Big 12 did IMO. I never liked cheering for Texas.

The other thing is Michigan is a blue blood and I think it’s natural to want other teams to win championships.

LOL, this wasn’t a case of the better team beating themselves. They had almost identical penalty yards, the same # of TO, and Michigan had 22% more yards than Alabama and a higher yards per pass and higher yards per carry. It was 2 evenly matched teams that would probably split 10 games 6-4 or 5-5.

No SEC team.  No team from the south or southeast.  I'm all of a sudden way more interested in this championship game than I have been in a long time.

Finally something that's good for college football.

And, I really hope Washington destroys Michigan.

I don’t. I’d prefer Michigan loses a close game. Then the new B1G and old B1G both look good.

Interesting. I didn't quite find what the other 8 situations were in the article. I may have skimmed over it to quickly. I still think this is political. Dems are worried he is going win. They are throwing darts at a wall and hoping one sticks. How many of the folks that stormed the capital were convicted of insurrection? Half dozen maybe. I haven't kept track.

Yikes. It wasn’t Democrats who started this in Colorado. I think you should try to keep better track of things before deciding to burn the constitution w/o realizing it.

If the US Supreme Court takes this up and upholds it, then it is what it is. I think that would create an opening for states to do this in other cases. If swing states do it, then what? Election boards and judges decide who is president?

I don’t think you’re making the point well, but yes I suppose political judges could just say a candidate engaged in insurrection, if they want. Even if there was no evidence. I’m not sure what the next step would be after that.

Assuming the Supreme Court disallows this, will they say a conviction of insurrection be required?

I have never seen a team makes sooo many stupid decisions in the 4th quarter of such a big game.

They had a terrible drive at the 12:30 mark and the guy ran into the punt returner, but I don’t know what there was other than that. I’ve seen Nebraska make 3x as many bad decisions in less time.

"People need to see what happened tonight, and they need to fix this," Smart said, lamenting the flood of opt-outs and portal entries on teams playing in non-playoff bowl games. "It needs to be fixed. It's very unfortunate that they have a good football team and a good football program, and they're in the position they're in."

The Seminoles played without their top two quarterbacks, top two running backs, top two receivers, starting tight end, three starting defensive linemen, two of three starting linebackers and three starting defensive backs. They were down 29 scholarship players in all.

Not sure why McCord felt he couldn’t compete with those Bauserman’s?  Is Day actually not going to go into the portal? I think it’s all talk to keep other QB’s around. No way he can go into next year without a star QB.

It doesn't make sense, unless Syracuse was able to get him a lot more $ than OSU. Most of the articles are saying he left because he wasn't promised the starting job next season. But no competitive person should want to play for a coach that would promise a starting job to someone. How could you not wonder about all of the other players starting, and whether they actually earned it? Or what the coach is saying to all of the others who play your position? It's also really weird to go 11-1 for the school you've been at 3 years and not want to win the National Championship with them. He will now have s#!ttier linemen, s#!ttier RB, s#!ttier receivers (I'm sure someone will name some Syracuse player, but I'm talking in general). I don't think playing for Syracuse will make him look better to NFL teams.

  9. The Missouri coach doesn't know how to drink water.

Edit: just discovered his last name is Drinkwitz... he just squirted a water bottle sideways, parallel to his lips, and tried to catch the water with his tongue.

I don't need judges doing what they did. In Colorado we can vote to retain or not to retain judges. I have the names of 4 judges that, if given the opportunity, I will not vote to retain them. I have the names of 3 judges that I will vote to retain. All 7 are democrat appointed.

What did the 4 judges do that you think they shouldn’t have? They didn’t create the lawsuit that came before them. Do you think the argument that Trump engaged in insurrection isn’t strong enough for the decision they made?

  11. I have no problem whatsoever if a player headed to the NFL opts out of a bowl game to prevent injurying themselves before getting their paycheck. Get your $ then injure yourself in the NFL.

And I don't really fault a transfer player doing it either, but I fault the system that allows that to happen. The NCAA needs to do whatever they need to do to disallow players from entering the transfer portal prior to the National Championship game. If that means moving the early signing day to January 15, then do that. (I know the 2 are not the same, but I assume many transfer decisions are based in part on who is being signed out of high school). But I know that's problematic too since freshman are getting on campus early - but they were doing that before the early signing day existed. I just don't recall how it worked.
