Hopefully it stands. I believe Wisconsin is the most gerrymandered state in the country. I just looked it up and in 2018 the Democrats won 54% of the vote but Republicans won 64% of the seats. And they redrew in 2021 to make it worse.

"Decriminalizing" is easily one of the stupidest ideas that have come from Left Wing circles, and that is saying something.

The reality is that dealing with drug use, mental health, or what have you requires massive investment in rehabilitation, crisis management, and mental health centers that cost far more than tax payers at willing to spend.

I think it has to be implemented correctly before it can truly be judged. And don't start off allowing meth, cocaine, and heroin. According to the article Oregon didn't have the funds or infrastructure in place when they did this, which was stupid.

    Quote

Oregon’s Measure 110 funds were slow to be distributed to recovery programs, according to a state audit. The state’s drug treatment infrastructure was inadequate at the law’s onset. Federal data from 2020 ranked Oregon last in the nation for access to drug treatment, due to historic underinvestment.

Maybe don't decriminalize with recovery as your solution if you suck at doing that.

So my pain is on the side of my foot.  So I wonder if it is the same?

I don't know...but thanks for the advice!  The last 2 weeks have been so annoying

I doubt it's the same for everyone, but I had it temporarily on a vacation last year and it felt the worst when I was standing still, and it was excruciating at times. If you stand a lot during the day and it's not really painful, it's probably something else.

Another a$$ kicking for the MAGA messaging.  Maybe they should have kept Cheney.  Who knew failing to pass border and national security legislation would be a loser at the polls?

The Democrats over performed again by 7 points.  What Nate Silver doing..lol

    Tom Suozzi Dem.    91,338   +53.9%
    Mazi Pilip     Rep.    78,229    +46.1%

Why are you bringing up Nate Silver?

For the “far share bro” crowd

The chart should show the ratio of income % to tax % over time. The top 1% are paying a bigger % of taxes now, but it's not showing what % they earned before. I looked up a single data point, 1980, and the top 1% earned 10% of income then, so the ratio was 19%/10% = 1.9. Now it's 45.8%/26.3% = 1.7.  I.E. things have become more favorable for the top 1% over time.

Now that we are past Usher, who should be next?  Next year's in Nola, then it goes NoCal, SoCal. It seems like we are in the stage of artists that were big in the 90s getting their shot for the SB, and we haven't had a 'country' artist in a while (if ever) but I think for Nola, maybe a Garth Brooks or Carrie Underwood halftime would be highly liked. Maybe if the NFL wants to trigger the right some more, go with T.Swift.

If they go back to rock maybe a Bon Jovi of a Def Leppard doing medleys of their hits. If they keep on the RB/Hip hop focus, maybe try and get an Outkast to come back together.

Who say you? Who should do the halftime next year?  I would personally like someone a little more contemporary, but the NFL doesn't seem to do that with the halftime act.

Apparently Metallica wanted to but the NFL wasn't interested. Foo Fighters would be good if they let them play live. I feel Kelly Clarkson has enough hits. I found Usher to be super boring. The best one so far has been Bruno Mars IMO. He has upbeat music and is one of the better performers out there. Swift has enough hits and I think I read she's been asked multiple times.

Maybe Miley Cyrus... she does country covers sometimes. She could mix that in with her pop stuff.

I’d place a bet RFK Jr. pulls more anti-Trump Republicans and independents than he does Biden voters.

Wasn’t he angling to get on the Libertarian ticket? That strikes me as the exact kind of voter he’d appeal to. Anyone left of center halfway tapped into politics probably abhors him for his anti-vax nonesense and his Russia apologism.

The polls aren’t showing this. When he is in the poll, Trump does better with the margin.

There were no egregious penalties against the 49ers or egregious no-calls against the Chiefs, and Mahomes had done this 5 times previously in playoffs games. I wouldn't call him a prophet.

I have not seen the musical but I hear it is amazing.  I will totally watch the movie.

Hopefully the movie is good. It had a lot more big actors than I thought it would. And yes the musical is really good, coming from someone who doesn't really like musicals.

Shanahan gifted KC by taking the ball in OT.  Mahomes said KC would have deferred but SF gave them the ball second.

Then with a 4th and 4 you'd know whether you needed a TD or not. It was mentioned it would give the 49ers' defense a rest, but the last KC drive of regulation was not that many plays.

KC looks worse after halftime than they did in the first half.   and i thought they were lucky to be down only 1 score at that time.

Lol. If you don't think the pro leagues protect their stars/ratings darlings you're just burying your head in the sand. Seems like you're just salty cuz your team is losing and that's ok too. Have fun watching the rest of the game

I’m not a big NFL fan. If I have a team it’s the Bengals, because they are coached by a former Husker. Before that I liked the Lions because Suh. And I cheered for the Eagles last year because of Suh. I’m okay with the idea that refs treat some players differently; everyone has biases even if unconscious. Just like can happen in college football, if the game is close at the end the refs can be a factor in the final outcome. I don’t believe there is any plan by the NFL to pick one team or another to win though. I believe there is ref bias only.

And you are talking about scripts in your post, and you made a post awhile ago suggesting that you believed the conspiracy theory that the NFL is scripted and the games aren’t real, which is a bunch of bulls#!t which you shouldn’t fall for.

The idea Kelce is going to propose today regardless of outcome is ridiculously stupid. Swift has been getting bs flack for years about being a slut. She also doesn’t need more attention. If it was real that would make Kelce a moron for not being more aware, and if it was fake, there is just no way that would be a plan she’d go with.

Lastly, even if the Chiefs were my team, why would that affect a post I make about a conspiracy I think is stupid? Besides, they were only down 10-0 at the time. Not like they haven’t come back from that before. There’s no reason for Chiefs fans to be “salty” right now.

I think the script goes like this: back and forth game. Chiefs down late. Comeback drive helped by a few egregious calls. Kelce catches game winning TD as time expires so he can propose to that singer lady on the field.

Do you believe in this flat earth type stuff or are you just joking around? And the proposal nonsense is f#&%ing stupid. No way in hell does that happen.

  14. On a related note... have we finally run out of people like Clinton and Biden to throw out there? I am tired of hanging onto these people. The Democrats got lucky with Obama I think. Except I recall reading that he wasn't great when it came to fundraising for the DNC.

Yep. Typical cognitive changes with aging. I wish we didn't have a system that spat out people this old, but here we are.

If we assume both aren't as sharp as they once were, I'll take the non-fascist with good policy that actually benefits me and people I care about 10/10 times.

Ya, Trump has always been who he is. I would take 80 year old Biden over Trump at any age.

The Big Guys has memory issues.  The entire world can see it, and if you truly work with memory patients everyday you understand it ain’t getting any better and most likely one day with quickly progress.   Not something we need as a President.

Ya, he may not have dementia but he is at a minimum having normal memory issues as an aging person. I don't want him as president but I want Trump a lot less. Assuming we still have a legit election in 2028, I hope we have some candidates between the ages of 35 and 60 who aren't crazy or stupid. I do think Biden's issues have been built up as more than they actually are, but I'm tired of people (mostly boomers, I assume) thinking age = wisdom and ignoring other factors.

  16. I’m not a macroeconomics person, and I know it’s obvious to anyone with a brain that NATO is good for us and not upholding the treaty is a bad thing, but let’s say Russia takes over Europe while we save money by not helping them, and then everything settles down into a new normal.

Russia would be a total s#!t trading partner with us and it would have a horrible negative impact on our economy, and we couldn’t really run to China either. Russia and China would just be laughing at us as we spiral downward. China is a huge trading partner with us right now but they could decrease that by a lot in this circumstance.

The other hypothetical is Russia fails against a US-less NATO. I’m sure Europe will still trade with us but they’re going to try to avoid doing anything that benefits us in any way.

Being an isolationist/nationalist country esp when it comes to Europe is going to leave us way worse off than if we are good allies to them.

Economically this makes zero sense. The massive amount of money spent, plus the loss in labor/productivity would be disastrous. Nevermind the fact that it would take years to train personnel and build facilities.

Agree. Preventing illegal immigration and spending more money there might make sense, but spending a bunch on deportation will lose us $, not gain it.

So, my option is to vote for a mush brain that defends America and upholds the constitution…or a mush brain that does not and only cares about enriching himself and loving all the dictators around the world.

Not a great choice….but it is a clear choice.

Agreed. It’s an easy pick. The other important thing is Biden picks people around him based on what he thinks their abilities are and not whether they will kiss the ring/help him with his coup. And Biden doesn’t think he’s the best at everything. So even if he has issues, he’s surrounded by people decent at their jobs and aren’t trying to help him become a dictator. Trump has some of the worst traits a leader can have.
