So I had a thought and wondered why so much hate is thrown at Jim Harbaugh who has won everywhere he's been.

Regarding the hate, is it really him?  Or is the hate Michigan?

Take a moment.  Think and be honest.

Let's say Jim Harbaugh never coached at Michigan.

Instead of going to Michigan to coach, he was named the head coach of..... Army.

    Or Navy.

    Or Air Force.

End of the year, and it's the annual Army vs Navy game and Jim Harbaugh is coaching Army.

He's put up some 8-4 teams, some 10 win teams, even some 11-2 teams.

    Do you still hate him?

    Think about it.

But on the flip side, let's say Jim Harbaugh decided to coach one of the following schools instead...........

    Head coach Jim Harbaugh at......

    Missouri

    Colorado

    Texas

    Texas A&M

    Miami, Fla

    Florida State

    Notre Dame

    USC

    Oklahoma

    Penn State

    Iowa

    ...Michigan

All the teams that Nebraskans hate to death.  Because they lost at times to them or feel threatened by them.

I think the hate is really about the team.  And the success and the coach just becomes part of the hate.

I apologize if I am not making a good point.

But, if he was leading Navy to back to back to back 11 win seasons and Frost got fired......... and he beat OU and Notre Dame....... as head coach of a military school........ some might have had different opinions about Jim Harbaugh that never went to Michigan.  Some might have even wished he came to UNL.

Or it's just hate for him no matter what.

You've been posting this weird type of stuff quite a bit lately. Nebraska fans in general don't tend to hate Michigan, even though we joke about the '97 championship. I honestly don't think many hated them even then, we hated the system and the voters. People (here) don't dislike Harbaugh because he coached Michigan.

The other weird post(s) I remember, I don't remember what the main thing you were commenting on was, but then you said something like "you probably hate Texas too." Nebraska fans who don't at least dislike Texas are wrong.

It’s really quite stupid.   She’s a good role model for young girls, very successful in her own right, doesn’t chase fame, etc….

My guess is they don’t like her because they think she will help help Joe win in 2024.  If she was pro-Trump they would love her.   Very moronic reasoning.

I think it's obvious she wouldn't like Trump (I wasn't aware of her speaking on right wing politicians but it's pretty obvious from some of her lyrics she wouldn't like him), but I don't think she will actively help Biden. Maybe she'll say he can use her music.

I am not tired of seeing Taylor Swift at NFL games and the cameras focused on her.  Annoying?  A little, but I am tired of hearing people complain about it that seems to clog my social media threads.

Why do they hate her? Is it because she has a song about not hating gay people?

Remake movies, 2023 Society of the Snow and 1993 Alive.  True story.  Almost  exactly the same plot, step-by-step.  Thank god NO Hollywoodized versions.  I enjoyed both movies.

BTW the worst remake IMO, 195? The Day the Earth Stood Still (fairly good) vs. 2008 The Day the Earth Stood Still (terrible)

THE FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX remake?  1965 version was much better than 2004

Thanks for the rec, I didn't know about the movie. I watched Alive when I was young. I was at a friend's house because we were carpooling for a softball game and I hadn't eaten breakfast and for some reason we had time for a movie and this is what she picked out. Needless to say my stomach didn't feel too good.

Anyhow, this version of the story was well done. I don't remember Alive at all. I was reading about it after watching Society of the Snow and saw that Ethan Hawke was the star of the movie, which made me laugh. Almost the whole cast was American and it was all in English. You'd think in 1992 they could have found some people of Argentine or Uruguayan descent or at least Mexican descent to play the roles.

  5. Is Romo unpopular as an announcer? I was just reading a couple paragraphs on Wikipedia. I like him way better than Collinsworth but I'm biased against him.

To keep the Husker in a superbowl streak alive San Fran has to win, right?

Lions just signed Matt Farniok. But maybe just practice squad. Does that count?

Ravens looked like they had no interest in playing today. Makes sense though. NFL wants all those extra viewers for that one person

Wait are you one of those flat earthers I mean the NFL is rigged people?

  8. The Ravens are looking like clowns right now with the penalties. Announcers keep saying (paraphrasing) the Ravens were saying they wanted Mahomes to think twice about leaving the pocket (ie by hitting him hard). So they are doing that, but keep getting penalized for it and keep the Chiefs on the field. And why they think that would work on Mahomes anyway is behind me. Did they watch the playoffs at all last year? He basically had one leg.

  9. Why are they showing Swift on a random 3rd down where Kelce hasn’t been involved in any of the plays ?

Just show her when he scores a TD.

That is not true at all.  Everyone in history knows what they are, they just still do it.

This is why there needs to be a death penalty.   Everyone knows what they are doing.

Hitler killed himself.  Every school shooter (for the most part) has killed HIM self.

    They know they are terrible.

Bad guys kill themselves so they don’t get tortured. Whether they realize they’re terrible or not has nothing to do with it. I assume most realize it though.

But we’re talking about voters, and I don’t think a high % of Trump voters think they are bad guys. I know a lot of them just want to save the would-be aborted babies and nothing else matters to them.

The NY mayor was talking about a state of emergency because of being overwhelmed. Maybe that is strictly a money play, but it's a bad look politically especially when kids get to go back to the disaster called remote learning in order to use schools to house immigrants. Democrats better hope this settles down or we will get 'build a wall' Trump 2.0. And yes the Republicans no longer have any motivation to help fix this for the next 9 months because it's the Democrats that own it in the eyes of the public. Maybe a few executive orders could help.

None of this indicates the Biden administration doesn’t care. He’s requested $1.4 billion for the cities with the worst problems. They are saying they need $5 billion, but he can’t get the law to pass through the House right now.

Even if it does settle down, the Republicans have a lot of gullible voters. They’ll convince them it’s emergency just like in 2015-2016 when it wasn’t one.

Our government is broken right now. The Republicans didn’t want to make ACA better because it would make the Democrats look good. Their MO for years has been stay in power and trick people into hating the Democrats on various hot button issues that they usually make up. Some are actual issues but then they make up the details.
