There's a reason this team is the 9 seed... Man all these negative comments guys. C'mon.
I know they're good. Especially good hitters. But they were up 5-0 and up 5-2 going into the 9th.
They've completely blown it.
Just now, jsneb83 said:Honestly, how Shanaman came in and got that last out in the 8th, I would have let him go back out there to try and wrap the game up.
Yeah, because he could throw something besides a fastball

He was starting to struggle

Tournament is over. No coming back from blowing a 5-0 lead.
Way to waste an 8 inning performance for the starter.
Just f#&%ing stupid.
-
What a smart decision to leave a fastball only pitcher in against the guy who's hit the most HR in the Big XII.
Dumb.

I'm bummed James Palmer or Glynn Watson didn't make it to the dance.

Dammit, dammit, dammit. I hate that we're going to have to fire Tim Miles the person. I'm okay with firing Tim Miles the coach

Keep Miles.

Dammit, I don't like having to think of Tim Miles possibly not being the coach.

I dunno...people said Kemba would go cold for UConn during their run. Who knows?

Maybe Copeland being out will open up some things. Sometimes having too many options is a bad thing.
I'd imagine Miles will go Watson-Allen-JPJ-Roby-Borchardt. We'll need Akenten Borchardt and Heiman to step up, but maybe moving Roby to the 4 will be better for him.

And the injury happened for such a dumb unnecessary reason...

What a mentally weak and entitled team.

On February 3rd, if watching the Rams play the Patriots in the Super Bowl evokes some deja vu, it's because the Rams and Patriots played in the Super Bowl 17 years ago on February 3rd, 2002. It was Brady and the Patriots first Super Bowl.
We've come full circle.

Reminder the year we went to the tournament, we started 0-4 in the conference.
I think, at times, this team puts too much pressure on themselves and starts forcing things or trying to make the big shot or big block. They are a really good team, KenPom says it, NET says it, opposing coaches say it, they look like a good team.
Honestly, last night could have boiled down to a few of those in and out shots falling. That's unlucky.
I think theyll go into Rutgers and put up a comfortable win, then pick up a few in a row.
The Big Ten is really good this year, as shown in non conference play. It sucks that the year we have our best team, the rest of the conference is also on a high. If this were last year, we'd be flying through the conference schedule.

That's a tough call at the end. Not sure I would have made the decision to overturn. Altered the game, but that's how it goes.
Great championship match from a team that has done the university and the state proud. 3 finals in 4 years, 2 national championships, 4 straight Final Four appearances.
Foecke and Maloney should go down with some of the absolute greats in Husker volleyball.

Think it may be a mental thing for Sun.

Well this first set is something
Also Stanford's band is annoyingly bad.

Other than the obvious, the really bad thing is statistically we did pretty well but still managed to blow a double-digit lead and not only lose but lose going away.
46% from the floor is pretty good. 33% on 3s isn't terrible. 79% from the line is good. 13 offensive rebounds is good. Only 10 turnovers.
Still managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
Yeah, those stats mislead because we didn't really stop Minnesota from doing anything and went cold in the last 6-8 minutes.
-
Also, let's not forget the emotion Minnesota was playing with too. That's worth something.

Palmer had a pretty atrocious night. His lower scoring tonight was at least worth the difference.

Conference game. I know it's Illinois and Illinois is 2-5 and on paper, Nebraska is clearly the better team. But it seems like, more than any other sport, college basketball has more crazy swings and unexpected results.
Huskers can't afford to be looking past Illinois or not preparing for them with respect. Remember, we lost to them the last time we played them.

I have a feeling that the education requirements for some positions may not be legally defensible. I don't know how you could guarantee that a degree is a bona fide occupational qualification (ie something absolutely necessary to do the job).

The 2018 schedule featured 7 similar opponents as the 2017 schedule. Here are the differences in results:
2017: at Illinois, W 28-6
2018: vs. Illinois, W 54-35
Difference: -3
2017: at Purdue, W 25-24
2018: vs Purdue, L 42-28
Difference: -15
2017: vs. Wisconsin, L 38-17
2018: at Wisconsin, L 41-24
Difference: +4
2017: vs Ohio State, L 56-14
2018: at Ohio State, L 36-31
Difference: +35
2017: vs Northwestern, L 31-24
2018: at Northwestern, L 34-31
Difference: +4
2017: at Minnesota, L 54-21
2018: vs Minnesota, W 53-28
Difference: +58
2017: vs Iowa, L 56-14
2018: at Iowa, L 31-28
Difference: +39
From common opponents, Nebraska closed the gap so much on these teams in one season, with Illinois and Purdue probably being noise rather than the signal. I'm eager to see how much this team improves from Year 1 to Year 2.

Fighting Erstad's at the Oklahoma City Regional - vs. Oklahoma State
in Husker Baseball

Unacceptable. Erstad absolutely f#&%ed it
I guarantee they lose by at least a few runs tomorrow.
