  1. Barring an extremely awesome Big XII tourney run, beating Kansas, Kansas State and Texas, Nebrasketball should end up being a 2 seed in a fairly easy bracket in the NIT.

Not bad for a team with little expectations placed on them.

  2. Eh, just claim that the kid didn't know any of it...and they're good.

And if the accusation of this guy sending recruits to Auburn, Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma St, USC and Texas A&M then those schools need to be punished if Oregon gets punished, they can't just make an example of one to make it look "fair"

I suppose they're cracking down on Oregon because they came to close to ruining tSEC's consecutive MNC victories

  3. Isn't there a rule in the Big Ten that head coaches can't go from one Big Ten school to another?

No - the same "myth" exists in recruiting. It's a courtesy shown, provided it doesn't impact your own self interest...in other words - if they could put the Huskers in the tank for 2-4 years while we find another Bo, and at the same time grab one of the hottest up and coming coaches in the game...they'll be doing it. Hate em if you want, but they'll beat you almost every Saturday and in the end that is what really matters.

(it's a non-issue because it won't be happening, though hypothetically speaking...)

Thanks for the info. Just thought I read somewhere that it was a rule. It won't be happening though...Tressel will end up being alright.

  4. Yeah, that bracket is interesting to look through...

I think it's going to take beating Colorado and then making the semifinals to get into the NCAA tourney...maybe just making a close game against Kansas or Texas or aTm would do...

    -OR-

If we lose to Colorado...I think it's going to take making it to the finals to get into the dance...just too many loses and a lot of bad losses for the team to rebound from to make the dance.

Here's something interesting...we lost 6 conf. games by a combined 21 points this year:

If we won 2 of those games (Texas Tech and Iowa State), we would've been a 6 seed

If we won 3 of those games (Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Baylor): we would've been a 5 seed

If we won 4 of those games (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Baylor and Kansas State): we would've been a 3 seed

If we won 5 of those games (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas State, and Missouri): we would've been a 2 seed

If we won all 6 of those games (Texas Tech, Iowa State, Baylor, Kansas State, Missouri, and Kansas): we would've won the Big XII regular season and be the number 1 seed.

The only game that wasn't close was the Missouri loss so it was very likely, with 4 more FTs or just two more layups, that NU would've been a 2 seed in the tourney and we wouldn't even be talking about "Tournament hopes" we would be talking about which team we would face in the first round.

  5. It'll be tough, because it is a road game...but Nebraska can do it.

Nebraska doesn't like controlling its own destiny. They will squander this opportunity.

I'm not even being pessimistic here. It is utter insanity to expect otherwise, based on this season's body of work.

    NIT.

And that's true...Nebraska has a very good history of squandering opportunities...but I think they can beat CU...

Found another possibility though...if we do beat CU and by some chance...Baylor beats Texas: Texas has a hard time winning on the road as of late-we end up as a #7 seed and play Texas Tech in the first round...Win and we rematch with Texas.

  6. tOSU for several reasons.

    1) tOSU has been the top dog in the conference.

    2) All their players are returning from suspension

    3) Ohio State is in Lincoln...the atmosphere is going to be crazy.

    4) With both teams potentially being undefeated or with one loss heading into that game...Nebraska might have the chance to rebreak the attendance record at CGD
