Oh come on, these analysts are the best!
They should take a look at our safety play AFTER the Oklahoma State game...and note that it is WAY better
-
Just remind them that this is EXACTLY what Texas was saying last year-and I think our offense is a little better than last year.

Hey guys, I don't know if this is true or not, but from what I've heard: The exact same crew is going to be officiating the Colorado-Nebraska game. If that is true, then may God have mercy on Nebraska
-
Abso "freakin" lutely NOT. This season is very much alive! We could have been a national title team.
BUT this is why it's College Football. Things happen. I'm sure Ohio State had dreams of a national title, but there they sit with a loss. I'm sure Oklahoma had title aspirations, but here they are with 2 losses.
It happens. Great Teams lose every now and then.
I'm still excited that we have a shot at winning the Big XII Championship and going to a BCS Bowl.
Rome wasn't built in a day, or even 3 years.

That's okay. Alex Henery doesn't need their awards when he's making millions in the NFL by becoming the highest drafted K/P ever.
-
There is a lot riding on this game, especially seeing how Kansas will not pull of the upset on Missouri in the border war. CU always finds a way to bring it to us and they have a lot riding on this game. They could kill two birds with one stone: they could become bowl eligible AND ruin our shot at going to the Big XII CCG.
I for one am concerned about this game. But I think we'll be fired up and ready to play with so much at stake in one of the great rivalry games in all the Big XII.

Get a load of this...
Alex Henery this year is 15/16 and has not missed an extra point. He also averages 44 yards a punt on 51 total attempts with numerous punts landing inside the 15 yard line. Name another player who kicks FGs and punts this well for his team.
A look at the other candidates:
Dan Bailey, Okie Light:
22/26 (84.6% compared to Henery's 93%). Hell he's even MISSED AN EXTRA POINT. Does he punt for his team as well? No.
Danny Hrappman, Southern Miss:
23/26 (88.5% compared to Henery's 93%). He's punted a grand total of 5 times for his team with an average of 43 yards per attempt.
David Ruffer, Notre Dame:
15/15 on FGs (Same amount as Henery). However, unlike Henery, HE'S MISSED not one, but TWO extra points. Does he punt for his team? No.
I don't see how any of these guys are more valuable than Alex Henery. Especially if they miss extra points.
Now to the punter candidates:
Drew Butler, Georgia:
In 43 attempts, Butler has averaged 45 yards a punt, which is just one yard per punt more than Henery
Ryan Donahue, Iowa:
In 47 attempts, Donahue has averaged 44.3 yards a punt, just .3 yards more per punt than Henery. But I guess having a wind aided 73 yard punt makes a big difference.
Chas Henry, Florida:
In 40 attempts, Henry has averaged an impressive 47.3 yards a punt, 3.3 yards more per punt than Alex. This guy is actually legitimate.
I don't have a problem with the Guy award as much as I do with the Groza. These are supposed to be the awards that deserve to go the best player on any team. This isn't supposed to be the Heisman, which only goes to the best player on a team in the National Championship.
Sorry Alex, you got jobbed, you are by far the best kicker in the nation and you will get your award on Friday when they call your name on senior day.
That being said, congratulations to Amukamara for being selected as one of the best defensive backs. You too will get a loud ovation on senior day.

I think that more attention will be paid to the officiating of the next game we're in. I wouldn't go so far as to say we have two games left because we still have to beat Colorado unless Missouri somehow loses to Kansas.
The aTm officiating was a debacle, a refereeing crew that clearly had an agenda to give Nebraska a hard time if they were to win the game. But they were a bad crew altogether. This crew has been and always will be a bad officiating crew so I think that the crew we have on Friday, if it is not this same crew will give us a more fairly officiated football game against the Buffs.

WE won't. Because we'll be playing in the Fiesta Bowl...I think that's in Tempe, right?
-
Put the MNC hopes away, and be satisfied with a Fiesta Bowl and a Big XII Championship. I know I will be.
-
I laughed when I say Rod Gilmore have Michigan State at #7, yet NU wasn't in his top ten.
According to his logic, because MSU beat Wisconsin, they deserve to be ahead of Wisconsin. Well then you better put Iowa ahead of MSU and put NW ahead of Iowa.

Nebraska 49
Kansas 3
Rushing: 350
Passing: 200

Don't understand that rule at all.
Sidebar: I don't understand why Helu's forward progress wasn't stopped. IN FACT, if you see the ref, he was saying that Helu was down up to the point that the ISU actors (players) started making claims for the ball (which they did have)
He fumbled, but he was stopped long before that

Bo is a young coach, in terms of coaching. He is a fiery guy and wants to see his team perform up to their standards (something which they obviously weren't doing yesterday) I would be pissed if I gave a whole week preaching focus, and then watched my players be anything BUT focused during the game.
It's frustrating to anyone, even a head coach. But the players love Bo and that is the ONLY thing that matters.
BTW I'm sure Mack Brown is frustrated with the way his team has been playing...in fact, he even threw everyone under the bus post ISU loss.
I like Bo. He brings emotion to the game and that helps the team play with some swagger.
Once he gets the whole focused thing right, watch out
-
Iowa State was anything BUT an inferior team. And when you factor the wind into the game...it evens things out even more. Even the great QBs would struggle throwing the ball into the wind like there was yesterday. That made us one dimensional for 4 quarters. The Niles Paul fumble was inexcusable, but that falls on the players having common sense and not trying to take it out 4 yards deep in your own endzone.
Iowa State played really well.
We didn't have our best game
We still won
We're 8-1 and in the fast lane to the Big XII CG

The last three defenses that we've played (aside from Okie Light's) were very athletic. T-Mart couldn't get the corner and was shut down. Iowa State's D? Not so much athletic. He'll be able to get around the corner and maybe score once or twice on the ground.
However, I absolutely LOVE that Helu had a big game against Missouri. It made it harder on I-State's D coordinator because not only does he have to plan for Martinez (running AND throwing), he also has to plan for Helu on the ground.
Defensively, I don't see Iowa State doing much scoring. Maybe a TD and a FG, but I think our defense really clicked against Mizzou and it should do the same against Iowa State

ESPN3 for the PS3 is not available currently, and I am not sure if it ever will be available because I think the deal ESPN signed with Xbox (Microsoft) was exclusive. Sorry to those who have a PS3 and got screwed by the coverage maps.

^This. We still want to get good pass catching recruits so if we just run run run they're not going to want to come to Nebraska. Maybe that's complete crap, because most players would want to go to a team where they could possibly play for the NC, but others want to go to play on a team that fits their style.
I think Watson let off the gas a little bit, but his first quarter play-calling spoke for itself. An excellently called quarter.

I think Utah beats TCU as TCU has never won in Salt Lake City before.
It'll be lower scoring
Utah 28
TCU 24

TigerNuts, you can review a fumble on a play...they do it all the time. There is no way forward progress can be stopped on a sack...it's a sack for God's sake. The hit on Martinez's knees was clean, as was the hit on Gabbert. It wouldn't have been helmet to helmet if Gabbert didn't lower his head.
That's not Osborne's fault, it's Gabbert's
-
But there's no point in a review if they don't get the call right...that's what review is for and they OBVIOUSLY missed the fumble and then cited a stupid reason, forward progress had been stopped. How can forward progress be stopped on a sack?
-
We're fans. We can focus on whatever we want. However, the TEAM needs to focus on Iowa State and not be caught up in the media attention. What we don't need is a loss that nullifies the win over Mizzou.
I, personally would much rather have a Conf. Champ., a BCS bowl Championship, and a top 5 finish to the year. That would make it a good year in my opinion.
-
Holding occurs on every play. I'm sure Nebraska got away with holding at certain points during the Missouri game. The fact of the matter is we won, so, it doesn't matter.
-
Didn't see anything too terribly wrong with the article. Yeah, Bernie is a jerk, but he is a Missouri fan and if things had gone the other way, there would be NU fans doing the same thing (although I don't think it would be Tom Shatel of the Omaha World Herald).
I like the whole comparison thing he does when he states that Nebraska hadn't won any Big XII Championships and National Championships in a set period of time. I don't think he realizes that in that same period of time, Missouri didn't win a Big XII Championships or National Titles. Hypocritical.
But he is a fan. And sometimes fans overreact.
Henery to get an award?
