  1. We used to get pretty rowdy dancing to "Turkey in the Straw", but it's probably not considered "cool" enough anymore.
  2. For all you nellies out there clamoring for Pavelka's return, let me just state once and for all that Pavelka will NOT be coming back to the mike! I highly doubt the good folks at Pinnacle Broadcasting would be impressed about his low-rated morning show on KKAR or the way he left Saddlemeyer and KFAB lying in the lurch. On the other hand, I enjoy listening to Jim Rose through my headset as I listen to the game in the West stands. He also wrote and interesting book on Husker history that you all should check out. I'm reminded of chicken pot pies mom used to make FROM SCRATCH! People don't take the time to do stuff like that much more.
  3. Is this how you reply to a statement here? I haven't tried it yet. Hope it works. At any rate, Mr. Frank NON Discussion, I don't care much for the cut of your jib. I've been a loyal fan who has frequented the West stadium earlier than you were wearing diapers! I'd say some negative things about you, but it would show bad sportsmanship and violate the board rules which I recall swearing to uphold when I hit the check mark to join. Does a man's word mean nothing these days?
  4. Kids used to run it all the time. It was the "offense of the future." I haven't seen it used proper since I hitched the train from West Virginnie to Omaha and that was a few "moons ago". Now with quarterbacks spiking the ball and all that...what a bunch of whimps! I'd yell at 'em, but then I'd miss out on the play-by-play on my headset. I hope you don't mind this old fool reminesing, especially when I hardly know how to run this contraption called a "computer". Did some writin' back in the day though, which helps a spell. Nah, them kids today and those ridiculous looking space helmets they wear out on the field now, we'd of laughed 'em off the field back then.
  5. Batten down the cellar door ma, the Husker season is about to begin and I believe a storm's a brewin. Hope there's room in this here site for a grizzled old coot like me to rant. I can think of nothing better than a Saturday afternoon at the stadium listening to the game with my headphones and politely clapping for good sportsmanship. I worked in the coal mines years ago and lost my left index finger. I feel a kinship with those who stand in unity with the University of truth - Nebraska.
